A camera moves to show an auburn haired boy on a plush armchair, looking annoyed, while staring straight at the camera.
“So, Nakahara Chuuya. Please enlighten us, what inspired your passion for ice- skating? Since your junior debut as a figure skater, you have started to skyrocket in popularity with your unique skating sequences, and jumps. The audience would love to hear what made you so determined to reach the top!” A reporter gestured wildly.
“Well, to be frank. I never thought much about it, until I read a book about figure skating by Dazai Osamu.”

“Kyouka!!! D-did you see the Livestream?! Did you see who commented?!” A loud voice erupted from a small apartment block.
“Chuuya, respectfully, please lower your volume… And yes, I did see Dazai-san's comment on it.” Kyouka sighed as his step-brother started to pace frantically around the small living room.
“C-can you believe it?! I mean-! This is literally my fifteenth-birthday wish! And it's only been a few months after my birthday!”
“Chuuya. Stop panicking.” Kyouka's voice shook him out of his ramblings and he paused.
“Alright, fine… I get it, I'm exaggerating it.” Chuuya took a deep breath and sat down on the armchair in the living room.
“But seriously, this is BIG! I mean… Dazai Osamu watched the stream and took interest in me!” The auburn-haired boy inhaled a breath and his back hit the soft armchair.
“Chuuya. This is not meant to dampen your spirits but he will probably lose interest a few weeks or months later.” Kyouka said softly and sat down on the arm rest next to him.
Chuuya sighed and closed his eyes, too naive to see the truth.
And oh, how Kyouka is always right…
But it still hurts.
PRESENT DAY
“And there you have it folks! Nakahara Chuuya, from Yokohama, Japan, has won first place in the grand finale of this season!”
Applause echoed throughout the round stadium and resounded louder and louder as more people quickly joined in.
Stuffed toys and bouquets were thrown onto the rink as the top 3 stood at the center with the audience's excitement ringing at top volume.
Chuuya had won yet another competition, it was no surprise, since his talent and skill was unmatched…
But nevertheless…He felt…empty.
Empty, like he didn't belong, empty, like he was trying so hard to be something he wasn't…
That was all what Chuuya felt whenever he wins a championship, just the same cycle of winning and smiling…
A camera flash hit his eyes and he winced painfully, right… He still had to go through with the photographs. Just smile and nod… Smile and nod…
