Chapter Text
“Do you have control over the demon?" Gung asked while pouring tea for Pete.
They were now sitting at the courtyard tea table, Gung said it was good after breakfast. "Maybe? In the previous life he wasn't able to talk to me, but now he's able to communicate with me.”
Gung raised his tea cup and took a sip out of the Pu'er tea. “Then have a conversation with the demon, find out what things you have in common, what triggers both you and him, and finally how to be balanced as a whole.”
“Shiaaa, Niran your grandfather is so cool!!"
Gung huffed a laugh, "well I do not understand what that means but I give thanks to you. Now Niran, show your friend the training I gave you."
“Sigh, come this way.” Niran stood up and placed his hands to Pete's wrist tugging towards the forest.

They walked towards the greenery, "You know, I've been here before.”
“Really?"
Niran had stopped to look at Pete, "Yeah, in the mirror world…You know you turned around just like this too there…” Pete looked with such sorrow into Niran's eyes.
"You said you wanted to prove your grandfather wrong by searching for a Yao… It was quite funny because you didn't even know what a Yao was."
“Ah, I think I remember talking with you? I don't know, time travelling is annoying." Niran said as he spun around.
“This is it. We'll train here– we'll train as in do the same of what we did in the future.”
“Train? Ughh can't I just talk it out with Liu Er Mihou?"
“That is what you're supposed to do, that's your training." Though the back of Niran's body is the only thing visible to Pete, he knows that Niran is trying to suppress a sigh from coming out of his mouth.
“Us being in the middle of nowhere makes sure that even if you lose control, you won't hurt anyone in the village."
Pete let out a huff then sat on the floor, shutting his eyes to prepare to face Liu Er Mihou. A deep breath in…exhale…a deep breath in…

Pete looked around, it was the black empty void he met Liu Er Mihou in his previous life.
"You didn't do the illusion of coach berating me this time!” Pete was happy that he didn't have to face that again.
"You have already beaten me in the last, why would I waste my energy to do all that again?"
Pete turned around to see Liu Er Mihou staring at him.
“Hey! It's nice that you can talk this time! The last one you were kind of annoying, you were just something in my consciousness.” Pete said while walking closer to Liu Er Mihou.
He let out a growl, "Like you are any better.”
"Hey! What is that supposed to mean!" Pete whined as he sat next to the monkey. He shook his head, realising he's getting sidetracked. “Nevermind that, Liu Er Mihou–"
Pete was stopped with him placing his palm in front of his face.
“Stop that there." He grumbled. Which was weird because his mouth wasn't moving at all.
“I do not identify as Liu Er Mihou anymore… I am one of a thousand fragments of what remained…"
“Do you want a name then? No offence but calling you Liu Er Mihou is a mouthful.” Pete chuckled as he rubbed his neck.
“I would like your parents to name me, I personally do not think you can come up with a good name nor do I want that grandpa to name me." He said as he stretched.
“My? Hey, it's our parents! You technically share a body with me so they're your parents too!”
"Hmmm…”
“Then I'll settle it! We're brothers now! But, I know you want to have some control of the body as well, should we have a system for who will have control?"
“No need, if you don't want control anymore or you're about to do something stupid I'll take control. I do not desire using a human body."
“Ohh really? I know you fancy Niran as well, are you sure?"
"Hmmm…”
“Is that your way of agreeing? Oh you totally do like him! The way you nagged me to see Niran as soon as possible was so obvious!!”
"Grr stop talking, you make my head hurt. So annoying.”
Pete let out a laugh, " ok ok I won't tease you anymore, so… that means it's a deal?”
" Ugh whatever to get you out…"
“Deal."

Slowly Pete regained consciousness of his own body, feeling the floor, smelling the fresh air. He felt lighter. Slowly opening his eyes he sees Niran In front of him.
“Was it a success?" His hands clasped my cheeks. “Your eyes aren't glowing…I guess it did go well then.”
As Niran was about to take his hand away Pete quickly held onto his hands. “Hmm stay, this feels nice."
Niran's breath hitched, his ears flushed red as he turned his head away. “Hmph, I'll only allow it this time.”
They sat in silence, Pete closed his eyes breathing in the air and enjoying the comforting presence in front of him. After everything they've gone through, the peacefulness of the environment was very much needed. The birds chirping, the wind blowing through them, the leaves moving. Everything about this was such bliss.
Opening his eyes Pete saw Niran’s face blushing, letting go of his hands, Niran then faced him. He let out a soft chuckle, “Awe just from that your face is so bright red? You really are a tsundere~” Niran’s face quickly changed from that comment.
“HEY! I'm not a tsundere!!”
“Thats what a tsundere would say~”

“Ah, you guys are back. I made lunch for us. Sit down and let's eat.” Gung said while setting up the table.
Lunch? Only after that did both Niran's and Pete's stomach grumble. They both faced each other, realising that both of them didn't even realise about their hunger until this point. Laughing a bit they sat down on the table to enjoy the feast Gung had made for them.
“I assume your name is Pete, yes? Does your guardian know about your whereabouts?”
“Oh crap! I forgot about that! Oh man, my parents must be worried sick!” Pete started to look around frenetically, “Niran! Do you know how far away we are from my house?”
“Um… about a 30 minute drive?”
“Then, how about we finish lunch first then go drop off Pete where he resides.”
“Ok Gung. Thank you for the meal!” Pete and Niran say in unison.
They quickly ate the scrumdilyumptious food presented to them, finishing it fast so they could go to Pete's home as soon as possible.
After finishing lunch, they cleaned up the table and dishes. Using the time they had, they decided to wash up before going out.
They sat in the backseat of the car Niran's grandfather, “You know, this will be the first time I'd be meeting your parents or your sister…” Niran looked away, fidgeting with shirt.
“Aow, You've met my sister before silly." Pete flicked Niran's head. “I didn't get to talk with her, stupid." Niran said while rubbing the place Pete flicked him. “Ow, that really hurts…”
“Aw, ok ok I'm sorry do you want me to kiss it better?" Pete said while grabbing Niran's head while Niran tried to push him away.
"Eek! No way! Get away!!!”
“Niran, Pete keep moving like that and the car will swerve.”
Both Pete and Niran flinched and sat in their straightest posture ever.
“Sorry Gung…”

They reached the gates of Pete's house, Pete being the ever so loving and kind child of his parents said he'll open the door for them.
The gate slid open and he told Gung and Niran to enter with him.
“MA! PA! PLOY! I'M HOME!" Pete says while he runs towards his house, Gung and Niran slowly follows him as they reach the door.
As Niran walked inside the room, he could see Pete being surrounded by his family, “when did you even gotten out?! We didn't even realise you were gone!!"
All eyes went to Niran and Gung as they entered the room, “Hia who are the people that you brought?”
Pete had a grin on his face,"Ok listen up family! This will be your future son-in-law or for Ploy– your brother-in-law! And this is his grandfather!"
There was a pregnant pause until-
“HUH?!"
