Chapter Text
Bakugou was still smiling.
Deku had called him Kacchan.
After an entire week of torture, he had finally heard it again.
And now he wasn’t letting Midoriya—
No.
He wasn’t letting Deku—
Actually, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to call him anymore.
Bakugou glanced at him.
“So.”
Deku looked up.
“So?”
“You’ve been acting weird all week.”
Deku sighed.
“I know.”
“Why?”
Deku hesitated.
Bakugou crossed his arms.
“Tell me.”
Deku took a breath.
“It was a bet.”
Bakugou blinked.
“…What?”
“A bet.”
“Between who?”
Deku looked toward the door.
Then back at him.
“Mina.”
Bakugou’s eye twitched.
“Of course it was.”
Deku laughed nervously.
“She bet I couldn’t go a whole week without calling you Kacchan.”
Bakugou stared.
“You’re telling me—”
“I accepted.”
“You’ve been calling me Bakugou for an entire week—”
“Yeah.”
“BECAUSE OF A BET?!”
Deku flinched.
“Technically, yes.”
Bakugou dragged a hand down his face.
“I spent an entire week thinking you were mad at me.”
Deku’s expression softened.
“I wasn’t.”
“I thought I’d done something.”
“I know.”
“You made me lose my mind!”
“I know.”
Bakugou groaned.
“And then you called me Katsuki.”
Deku smiled.
“You liked it.”
Bakugou froze.
“…What?”
“You liked hearing me say your first name.”
Bakugou looked away.
“Maybe.”
Deku smiled wider.
“I liked hearing you say mine too.”
Bakugou looked back at him.
“…Izuku?”
Deku nodded.
“Yeah.”
There was a brief silence.
Then Bakugou laughed quietly.
“So we’re both idiots.”
“Probably.”
Bakugou stepped closer.
“You know something?”
“What?”
“I don’t actually mind when you call me Katsuki.”
Deku smiled.
“And I don’t mind when you call me Izuku.”
Bakugou’s face warmed.
“Good.”
Deku looked at him.
“So… what now?”
Bakugou shrugged.
“I don’t know.”
Neither spoke for a moment.
Then Bakugou muttered,
“Want to go out sometime?”
Deku blinked.
“Like… a date?”
“Yeah.”
Deku’s face turned bright red.
“I’d like that.”
Bakugou smiled.
“Good.”
Deku smiled back.
“So… Saturday?”
“Saturday.”
“It’s a date.”
“Yeah.”
Bakugou headed toward the door.
Then he stopped.
“Later, Izuku.”
Deku smiled.
“Later, Katsuki.”
Bakugou left.
The door shut.
There was silence.
Five seconds later, Mina popped her head around the corner.
“So?”
Deku jumped.
“Mina!”
She walked into the room, grinning.
“Well?”
Deku covered his face.
“We’re going on a date.”
Mina gasped.
“NO WAY!”
Deku laughed.
“Yep.”
“And?”
“He told me he liked hearing me call him Katsuki.”
Mina’s grin became enormous.
“And you?”
“I liked hearing him call me Izuku.”
Mina clutched her chest.
“This is so cute.”
Deku laughed.
“It was your bet.”
“And it worked!”
Deku shook his head.
“You nearly gave him a mental breakdown.”
“Worth it.”
Deku smiled.
“Yeah.”
Mina nudged him.
“So… Katsuki?”
Deku blushed.
“Don’t start.”
She laughed.
“Fine, Izuku.”
Deku groaned.
But he was smiling.
The bet was over.
The week of chaos was finally finished.
And somehow, they’d ended up with something neither of them had expected.
A date.
