Chapter Text
Nico had been thinking about the bus incident ever since it happened. He kept replaying the memory over and over again. He would picture the scenario in his mind whenever he was stressed, sad, or even happy. For some odd reason, it brought him comfort. Just thinking about Will made him feel warm and cozy. Will naturally shone like the sun, radiating warmth. Sure, it kinda creeped Nico out, because how could someone be so happy and so sweet? It was strange- but, somehow, that made Will even cuter.
Nico shook the thought from his head and prepared himself to go to work. He grabbed his bag and made sure to fasten his tie this time. He adjusted his hair the way he liked it and put on his jewelry. He checked the time:
7:38 a.m
Shit.
He quickly scrambled out the door and sprinted towards his car. He was going to be late. Again. Thankfully, he was able to make it before 8:00. (He arrived at 7:56) He dashed into his office building and began to run up the stairs. Of course, the elevators had been out of service for the past week. That was just his luck. Nothing could possibly get worse than it already was... Now he had to climb up 8 flights of stairs. EVERYDAY. He was tired of it, but he tried to keep a steady pace as he ran.
Floor 1. Floor 2. Floor 3. Floor 4. Floor 5. Floor 6. Floor 7. And finally, floo- THUMP.
Nico crashed into something, or someone, and fell. He groaned and brought a hand to his head. Whatever he collided with bumped him directly in the head.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” said a voice above Nico. He looked up and almost passed out. It was Will. THE Will he sat with on the bus and listened to music with while watching the sunset.
“Wait, Nico?! Omg is it really you?! I can’t believe it!!” squealed Will. He was jumping up and down from excitement. He was holding a cardboard box, but Nico couldn’t really see what was in it.
Wait…did Will work here?
“Will? Wait, what are you doing here? Why are you here?” stuttered Nico, still in shock.
“Oh I work here! Today is actually my first day. What are you doing here?” replied Will, helping Nico up from the ground.
Heat rushed to Nico’s face, making him sweat. WILL WORKS HERE?! WHAT!?
“Oh, yeah, I work here too.” replied Nico awkwardly.
There was absolutely no way Nico could get through the day knowing Will was in the same building as him. Some days, he wouldn’t even be able to concentrate just thinking about Will!
“Well, since you work here can you help me find my office…I got told that I was going to be moving in with someone. I forgot their name tho…”
WHAT?! THERE WAS NO WAY. WAS WILL GOING TO BE MOVING IN WITH NICO? Nico knew that someone would be moving into his office space today, but there was no way it could be Will…right?
Nick chuckled nervously. His whole face was red and sweat was forming all over his body. He began to fidget with his hands.
“Well, by any chance know the room number?” asked Nico nervously
“431.”
Nico's blood ran cold. His soul left his body. He almost collapsed on the spot. There was absolutely no way he would be able to work in the same room as Will.
“Oh…oh? Oh?! OH!!” squeaked Nico.
He dashed away, towards the coffee machine to think properly and try to calm down.
“THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY!” thought Nico. There was no way that he would be able to work with Will in the same office! He couldn’t believe it. Has fate brought them back together? Or was this just a coincidence? Well, deep down, he was actually kinda grateful that Will came back into his life. He wanted to get to know him better and to maybe become friends. Or maybe even more…? Nico shook himself. “I shouldn’t be thinking about that! What the heck!” Nico thought to himself. He fixed his suit and began to walk back to Will. He was standing awkwardly, looking around trying to keep himself distracted. He looked kinda cute. Nico must admit, Will was beautiful from afar. He naturally shone and reflected kindness. He seemed like the type of guy who would help an old lady cross the street.
“Hey, I’m back.” said Nico shyly.
“Oh hey! I was wondering where you went…anyway, so do you know where the office is?” asked Will, looking directly into Nico’s eyes.
Nico broke eye contact to look down at his hands. He was already blushing again.
“Errr, well…you’re with me.” mumbled Nico. He brought a hand up to his neck awkwarding.
“OMG REALLY?!” squealed Will. “THAT’S SO COOL!”
“Woah okay, calm down, people might look at us.” grumbled Nico.
“Whoops, sorry, you’re right.” giggled Will. He covered his mouth with his freckled hand as he held the box with the other.. His eyes closed as he tried to contain his laughter.
“Soo…ummm, just follow me. I’ll show you where the office is.”
“Okay!”
Will followed Nico towards the back of a hallway. Plaques lined the walls. Room 428. Room 429. Room 430. And finally, Room 431.
“We’re here.” said Nico as he stopped in front of the door. He pulled out his keys and unlocked the office. He twisted the handle and directed Will inside.
“You can set your things there if you want.” explained Nico as he pointed to a desk.
“Okay thanks.” replied Will and set his stuff down.
“So umm, yeah. Get comfy. I’ll be in the desk right over there,” said Nico as he strolled towards a desk further back into the room.
“Mhm.” hummed Will as he began to unpack his belongings.
Once Nico finally reached his desk, he sat down in his chair and sighed. These next few weeks were going to be tough. He wasn’t sure if he was going to make it through them, but for now, the problems were just starting.
