Chapter Text
"Hmuhgg" Avery growled as he just somewhat woke up.
"Good morning sleepyhead. How was your sleep?" Derek said, with such care it could've been passed as a Husband's care.
"It was good because you were in it" Said Avery, smiling sheeply at Derek
God, his smile made Derek's heart beat so much faster, it felt like it was gonna be ripped out of his chest.
Derek just smiled back at Avery and helped him get up.
"What now?" Avery said, slightly leaning into Derek's shoulder.
"Maybe we should explore this house just to be sure its yours. It's raining anyways so it's not like we have a choice." Derek said, suddenly grabbing Avery's hand and intertwining his fingers with his. Avery didn't say anything, there was comfort in knowing he wasn't alone, and he didn't wanna give that up.
"That's a good idea, should we go up stairs or look around here first and then go up stairs?" Avery asked, making eye contact with Derek now, well if you could even call it that since he had his helmet on so you couldn't really see his eyes.
"We should look around here first, lets do it order m'kay?" Derek said softly.
"Okay" Avery replied, slightly sleepy from there being almost no lights, which Derek immediately noticed and turned the lights on from switch nearby.
"Better?" Derek said looking at Avery softly
"Yeah, thanks" Avery said smiling softly at Derek
"Hey lets explore, yeah?" Derek asked
Avery nodded in response and walked towards what seemed the kitchen. They checked the cabinets and the refrigerator, in which they found some food that they immediately ate, because well, they were hungry.
Then they went towards the living room which was in the opposite side of where the kitchen was. It was a decent living room, it had a couch with some pillows and 2 blankets on it and the TV in front with a little coffee table in between.
Afterwards they went to the bathroom which was in the back of the living room. They opened the door to a small, but reasonable sized bathroom. It had the toilet on the side with the sink in between what seemed to be a bathtub and the toilet. There was also some towels left of top of the toilet for some reason.
"Seems like thats all! Wanna go up stairs?" Avery suddenly asked, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, its the only option we have anyways" Derek said, letting out a soft chuckle which Avery loved.
So, Avery somewhat dragged Derek upstairs where there was 3 doors. If Avery was correct, the door in front of them led to the 2nd bathroom, the door in the left lead to the bedroom, and the door in the right lead to the storage room.
"Which door?" Derek asked Avery, who was very deep in thought it seemed.
"The one to the left" Avery replied, which got a small chuckle from Derek
"Uh huh, yeah I disagree. I think we should go towards the right, eh?" Derek said sarcastically, though Avery took him seriously.
"Hmm, okay!" Avery said, dumbfounded.
"I was being sarcastic silly. But since you said yes then lets go to the right." Derek said already leading Avery towards the right.
When they opened the door they were met with a couple of chests, that were lined up and 2 armor stands, both with netherite armor in it and had been equipped with a sword. They checked out the chests which were filled with guns and swords and other stuff.
Afterwards they went to what Avery guessed was the bathroom, in which he was right. It had the same layout as the one under them, except this one didn't have a bathtub but a normal shower instead.
Finally they went towards the left, in which there was a bed in the middle, a nightstand beside the bed a little study area in the corner and what seemed to be a closet in the left.
"Well, I guess we have explored the whole house, which i'm 100% sure its mines." Avery said as he layed on his bed, which Derek did too, as he layed beside Avery, still holding hands.
"Im sleepyyy" Avery said suddenly, as he rolled over, on top of Derek and took his helmet off, just to see his beautiful face, which was red due to him blushing. And then, he kissed him.
It was a soft tender kiss, like the one before. But this time, it was more passionate, filled with more love than before.
When Avery pulled away, there was a string of saliva connecting them. Which he immediately noticed and took it away. Then Avery layed beside him, closer than before.
Derek took this as a chance to cuddle with his Avery, because well, it was cold! It was raining anyways. They cuddled until they fell asleep, both tangled together, their fingers intertwined together, Avery's arm wrapped over Derek and Dereks legs in between Avery's. Both of them smiling, even though they were sleeping. Oh this was just how life was gonna be now it seems. Peaceful, nothing to wish for. Everything both of the wanted was right in front of them. Oh how lovely.
