Chapter Text
Izuku sat on the edge of his bed, staring at his phone.
The TikTok was gone.
He knew that.
It was better this way.
At least, that was what everyone kept telling him.
But he still couldn’t stop thinking about it.
About the confession.
About Kacchan.
About how everything had gone wrong.
A knock came at the door.
Izuku froze.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me.”
Izuku’s heart jumped.
“Kacchan?”
“Yeah.”
Izuku hesitated.
“Come in.”
The door opened.
Bakugo stepped inside and closed it behind him.
For a moment, neither spoke.
Izuku looked down at his hands.
Bakugo stood near the door.
Finally, Bakugo spoke.
“About the TikTok.”
Izuku’s stomach tightened.
“Oh.”
Bakugo walked closer.
“I need to explain something.”
Izuku nodded.
“Okay.”
Bakugo sat beside him.
“I didn’t want you to delete it because I hated it.”
Izuku looked at him.
“You didn’t?”
“No.”
Bakugo looked away.
“I actually…”
He paused.
“I liked it.”
Izuku’s eyes widened.
“You did?”
“Yeah.”
His face turned red.
“You said you loved me.”
Izuku’s cheeks turned pink.
“I meant it.”
“I know.”
Bakugo looked at him.
“That’s why I liked it.”
Izuku stared at him.
“But then why did you agree with Aizawa?”
“Because you didn’t mean to post it.”
Izuku went quiet.
Bakugo continued.
“It was getting popular.”
“I know.”
“People were seeing it.”
“I know.”
“You didn’t choose that.”
Izuku nodded.
“So I thought deleting it would make you feel better.”
Izuku looked down.
“But it didn’t.”
“No.”
Bakugo sighed.
“I know.”
Izuku’s fingers tightened together.
“I thought you wanted it gone.”
“I didn’t.”
“I thought you were embarrassed.”
“I was.”
Izuku’s expression fell.
Bakugo immediately continued.
“Not because of you.”
Izuku looked up.
“I was embarrassed because you confessed to me in front of thousands of people.”
“Oh.”
“And because I didn’t know what the hell I was supposed to do.”
Izuku smiled faintly.
“That’s fair.”
Bakugo looked at him.
“But I wasn’t embarrassed that you loved me.”
Izuku’s eyes widened.
Bakugo took a breath.
“I actually…”
He looked away.
“…Loved hearing it.”
Izuku’s heart pounded.
“Kacchan.”
Bakugo looked back at him.
“I love you too.”
Izuku froze.
His mouth opened.
Nothing came out.
Bakugo frowned.
“What?”
Izuku’s eyes filled with tears.
“You…”
He wiped them quickly.
“You love me?”
Bakugo nodded.
“Yeah.”
Izuku smiled.
A huge, relieved smile.
“I love you.”
“I know.”
Izuku laughed softly.
“Sorry.”
“Stop apologizing.”
Izuku nodded.
“Right.”
They sat quietly for a moment.
Then Izuku looked at Bakugo.
“So…”
“What?”
“Are we…”
He hesitated.
“Are we together?”
Bakugo’s face turned red.
“If you want to be.”
Izuku’s smile grew.
“I do.”
Bakugo nodded.
“Then yeah.”
Izuku laughed.
“Okay.”
Bakugo smiled slightly.
“Okay.”
Izuku leaned against his shoulder.
Bakugo didn’t move away.
For the first time since the TikTok had been posted, Izuku felt completely calm.
The video was gone.
The confession was gone from the internet.
But the words hadn’t disappeared.
They were still here.
Between them.
Where they belonged.
And this time, Izuku didn’t need TikTok to say them.
He simply whispered:
“I love you, Kacchan.”
Bakugo smiled.
“I love you too, Deku.”
And that was enough.
