That’s all high school ever felt like. Midoriya and his idiot friends would get obscene amounts of praise for throwing a fucking ball and being hot. Where is Katsuki’s varsity jacket for getting straight-As his entire life? Where is his plaque that memorializes every debate he’s ever won?

Even though he won't be able to see the contestants, his team's already picked the winner. Katsuki thinks the whole thing's stupid, but it seems like a simple enough plan.

Time seemed to slow down as Izuku watched in wide-eyed horror. The man’s coffee cup flew from his hand, tipping precariously mid-air before splashing all over his pristine suit. The dark liquid cascaded down the fabric, staining it instantly. Izuku’s heart dropped further as droplets of the spilled coffee splattered onto the floor, and onto his own shoes.
