Chapter Text
(Elliot POV)
Elliot spawned into the lobby, startled to see seven strangers looking around, all seeming extremely confused. His first instinct was to look around for a weapon. He needed something to defend himself, after all. However, there were no weapons nearby. In a panic, he grabbed a piece of pizza and threw it at one of the strangers. He was sort of short and had sandy blonde hair. The stranger barely managed to slap the pizza away from his face before it hit him. “Abtrhghasdf um, sorry,” he said. Seriously? Had he just apologised? After Elliot just threw a pizza at him? pushover lol
Who were those people? And why were they so…
Before he could even finish that thought, a small girl who looked thirteen-ish spoke up, “Crazy? Unhinged? Quirky?” she suggested, “We’re loric, by the way. Well, not all of us, but some. Loric are basically just aliens. Good aliens. I’ll…explain later.” She had short brown hair and a soft, almost timid voice. She also gave off a sort of mysterious bordering creepy vibe. How did she know what he was thinking? Did she read his mind? As if she knew exactly what he was thinking, she said, “I’m a telepath. It’s a Loric thing. Like I said, I’ll explain later, when the others are here.” How did she know… all of that?
Just then, Chance appeared out of thin air, having just died in the match. He took in the scene around him. “Hey, Elli! Ya made some new friends? Nice!” He turned to the strangers. “How’d ya’ll get here? Wait, actually how did you guys get here?”
The strangers exchanged looks. One of the strangers that looked similar to the first one who Elliot had thrown a pizza at stepped forward slightly. “Uhm, we’re actually not exactly sure how we got here. We just… appeared. Actually, where are we?” he said. Chance collapsed onto the sofa and said, “Dunno. We call this place Forsaken. It’s basically a purgatory. Hey, El, where’s Spade?” Chance’s attention span was horrible. They got distracted so easily. And, speaking of Spade, she was sitting RIGHT NEXT TO CHANCE ON THE SOFA. She was comfortably curled up against Gubby and looking at Chance with an expression of absolute disappointment. She made a rabbit noise, drawing Chance’s attention to her. “Spade! There you are!” He picked her up and tossed her into the air lightly before putting her back on the couch next to Gubby.
Everyone else stared at them. “And I thought, we were slightly crazy,” the brown-haired girl muttered.
Before things could get any crazier, a girl with wavy brown hair stepped forward. “Uhm, sorry for them… I’m Marina.” She stuck her hand out for a handshake. Elliot shook her hand tentatively, “I’m Elliot.” He gestured to Chance. “That’s one of my partners, Chance.” Chance grinned and waved from the sofa, where he was sprawled across two seats.
Marina nodded politely to them and gestured behind her at the short blonde boy who apologised when Elliot threw a pizza at him. “That’s Sam.” She gestured at the other blonde man who looked kind of like Sam. “That’s Malcolm. He’s Sam’s father.” She gestured at the telepath. “That’s Ella, as she said earlier, she’s Loric. Oh, yeah, I’m Loric too. Loric are aliens, like Ella said earlier.” She gestured at a tall dark-skinned woman. “That’s Lexa. She’s also Loric.” She gestured at a pale, dark haired man with strangely dark eyes that looked almost scary. “That’s Adam.” She didn’t look at the last boy who Elliot could only describe as short and built like a barrel as she said, “Five.” There was obvious contempt in her voice.
For the next few minutes, they sat (or stood) there awkwardly until the round ended. No one else had died. When the round finally ended, everyone else appeared in the lobby. The moment they saw the group of strangers, everyone looked confused. Everyone turned to Elliot and Chance for answers. Noticing that Chance was definitely not intending to answer, Elliot stepped up and introduced the seven new strangers to the rest of the survivors. Everyone immediately bombarded them with questions.
“Hrhow dghyd yrouh gygkt hyghre?”
“Shedletsky, don’t talk with chicken in your mouth.”
“Fine. How did you get here?”
“We aren’t sure.”
“Gimme your lore drop.”
“Chance, not the time.”
Just then, a tall figure even taller than Lexa—who was already exceptionally tall—entered the cabin. “What’s going on?” Mafioso asked. And then they had to awkwardly introduce everyone again. When it was time to introduce Mafioso, Elliot struggled to find a good way to phrase the situation, “He’s uhm… well, he’s a killer. The killers are kind of supposed to kill us during rounds…” Chance didn’t seem to care that he was a killer, though, because the moment he saw Mafioso, he got up and threw himself at Mafioso. “Mafi! I missed ya!”
Mafioso pried them away and looked at the group of new survivors wearily. Then, without saying another word, he turned and left the cabin. Chance looked from the survivors to Mafioso, then grabbed Elliot’s arm with one hand and waved at everyone with the others before bounding off after Mafioso.
Everyone watched them leave. When they were gone, everyone turned back to the seven strangers expectantly. They definitely had a lot of explaining to do.
