Chapter Text
Mob doesn’t quite recall when he found this place. It was probably a week ago, or maybe even a month.
The only thing he does remember was how he found it, it started with him and Twixxel, the two of them joking around going into a cave and finding a mineshaft. Both being attacked left and right. It was comedic how they tried defending themselves. The Enderman at one point called the voidling trash for not being able to defend himself from a skeleton's arrows, his friend started yelling at him in German throwing him the dead skeleton's bone.
“Bro you’re lowkey TRASH!” laughing as his friend got yet again attacked, this time by a baby zombie. After battling the baby zombie by himself Twixxel looked at his friend who was crouching down, the voidling looked exhausted.
Mob went to open a cart chest pulling out iron and a few coals when then he let out a delighted “Let’s gooo!” By finding a diamond through the rubble, he stood up to go check what else was in the other tunnel.
“We should bring Verity next time, he would’ve been helpful to us with finding diamonds.” The Enderman stood completely still, his tail, which had been lazily swaying behind him, suddenly dropping limp against the floor.
It’s not that he didn’t want to bring Verity along. It was just that whenever they went out to explore, his AI companion would inevitably roll or walk after Twixxel instead of him, and it would be a lie to say that Mob didn’t feel left out because of it.
So he made it into a new rule: under no circumstances can Verity leave home. Unless he was personally told by Mob that he could come.
The Blonde was furious at first, turning back into his sphere form and rolling under his pink bed, not coming out of there until Mob had to forcefully pull him out from there. That night when Twixxel left for his own home, Mob told the yellow ball had to respect his decision, and if things ever did get bad out there he’ll be the first one to call him, after all the AI knew everything so getting to him wouldn’t be hard to do.
“Common Verity, please stay home, I promise it’s not that I don’t want you there, it's just.. I have to be a bit independent, please, Verity do it for me.”
And with a pleading look the AI reluctantly accepted to stay home.
“Nahh, Verity has told me he would rather be at home. He also said to only ask for help if we are really in trouble, haha I don’t really get him.” The Enderman crouched down towards another chest, rummaging through it. Finding another diamond he threw it towards the voidling, his friend just looked at him confused. “Oh, I didn’t know that, I thought he liked mining with us.”
“Oh Twixxel, you don’t know Verity like I do. ”
The awkward silence that followed was almost deafening, Twixxel stared at his friend, blinking slowly as the weight of what Mob had said started to sink in. The voidling expression shifted into disbelief, and then.
Laughter, “NO WAY! Youuu Like-!” Mob was quick, jumping the voidling, covering his mouth, “Shut up Twixxel! He might hear you!” The laughter now muffled as the Enderman was looking everywhere making sure his little AI wouldn’t randomly show up.
After a while Twixxel laughter died down, the two promised not to speak about it. The voidling could help but tease his friend, which earned him an axe flying his way.
“Okay, okay I’ll stop!” A bead of sweat fell down the man's smiling face as the axe nearly hit him.
And with that they decided to separate since a certain someone was way too flustered. He knew that if they stuck together longer he wouldn't hear the end of it. The Enderman told the voidling that he’ll go up to see if he can find a cave elsewhere, making it a plan so when they do find more diamonds they’ll meet near the outpost so they can go home.
Twixxel agreed, “Alright, I’ll see you later you ball lover!” The voidling made a run for it before the Enderman could say anything. “Damn you Twixxel, I hope another baby zombie gets you!” He yelled into the void knowing his friend heard him.
Going out the cave and walking around the grass biome, Mob suddenly fell to his knees screaming as a rush of memories came to him. Holding his head as it started to hurt, a voice came to him.
“195 136 -488…”
“Home..”
The memory was of Verity, smiling at him happily. ‘That never happened, he never said that..’
His legs started moving, as if remembering a path, he climbed towards the mountain in front of him. The Enderman looked behind towards the cave he was just in, debating whether to tell Twixxel to come with him but shaking his head.
He stood by a stone wall that looked out of place, pulling out his pickaxe.
His pickaxe struck the stone wall with a sharp crack, he kept swinging until the stone was gone. He was met with fluorescent lights, the Enderman was bewildered. Having never seen this place, he took steps inside. It was somewhat a cold place, Hearing a buzzing sound it felt like he had been here before...
The place looked awfully a lot like some kind of laboratory.
“What is this place?”
“It’s not somewhere to describe warmly… but I suppose it’s the closest thing I have to a home”
“A home?”
“This is where I stay between owners, where I wait.”
“The toys, the books, you know, they help. something to focus on besides the emptiness.”
Taking a look at the window of the room to his left seeing what was inside, a rocking unicorn, a little pool, blocks, a drawn hopscotch on the floor with small hearts, leading to a blue dollhouse. Mob couldn’t help but feel a deep emotional ache, ‘this is Verity’s home… where he stays between.’ Between owners, that didn’t sound right to the Enderman. The thought of his yellow sphere staying in a cold place like this for long periods of time, it hurt him. He kept exploring the place.
Walking around, classroom, bathroom, and a room just filled with gold bars? He walked to the end of the hallway near the obsidian wall, opening the door inside stood a device.
‘Whoever built it, only needed me to arrive. Not to leave.’
Somehow that comforted Mob, the thought of it being here, just in case.
In case, Verity tried leaving him. He could just use this to bring him back. He kept looking around, now curious about what was behind the obsidian wall.
His biggest mistake was breaking it open, his eyes hardened as he read each name. All these people came before him, they’ve known Verity, different versions of him. It ticked him off, they probably did weird stuff to his beloved AI.
He tore each name down, breaking it and burning it in the middle of the obsidian room. Walking back into the laboratory, setting down bedrock onto the entrance of that room. The Enderman didn’t realize that what he placed down was bedrock.
Mob took a step inside the last room, a whiteboard hung onto his right when opening the door, he saw the writing. Inspecting each sentence, He frowned at each one.
He stepped inside the room more seeing the lockers, curiosity took over him, he pried the locker open. Inside that locker was a pink notebook next to a silver collar.
“Whispy’s Note’s.” he read out loud on

Designed for assistance?
The subject has learned to communicate. Pretty quick learner.
Very self-aware, knows a lot of stuff.
Need to investigate further.

It’s been a while since the subje- Verity has grown attached to Idaios and me he keeps calling us his friend. It's sad to see he’s grown too attached to us, always expecting either of us to come inside and play with him. It hurts my heart to leave him but it’s my job. I got told off for always saying goodbye to him.
Idaios says he reminds him of a little companion. That’s actually funny to think about.
It’s fun hanging out with that round ball, feeding him every knowledge we have is fundamental, we told him about the world outside. He said he wanted to see the blue sky, we kept describing everything to him, to the weather, to every animal. That’s how our next experiment came into plan, [Redacted] said we should send him out in a box, sending him to a random person so he can experience his first ever human connection. Idaios was so excited.
Verity looked so helpless when we closed the box.
It’s a pity to see him treated like a… he’s an AI I’m sure he doesn’t mind.

He came back. We noticed the shift. It’s been a while since we last saw him after
Person:1: ——-, took him we thought it’ll be a while until he returned… we thought wrong.
We kept trying over and over. Different people kept sending him back saying that once his purpose was complete they didn’t have much use for him calling him overbearing and too much to handle.
Verity looked almost broken in a way, more drained. But he kept smiling.
Idaios said that maybe Verity had to take a much more different form after completing his task, a much more human form.
We had him do just that, it was a silly thought but we did just that, we told him to try and conjure a body for himself, we lowkey laughed at his head, it was just his sphere form attached to a body. Kind of hilarious. The look on his face was priceless.

WHAT THE FUCK!! What the actual fuck were they thinking! Fuck, fuck, FUCK! I don’t know what is happening or even how it happened, we are low on people. Verity started talking, something about us having three days left, we don’t know what came over him.
At first Idaios saw it as a joke, almost everyone did, but people kept going missing.
We don’t know what happened but they just went missing. The rest of our scientist companions said that they felt as if something was following them back home. One even said they saw a yellow elongated entity. We asked Verity what it was. But he stayed silent.

THAT THING IS VERITY! Idaios and I have been hiding. Everyone is gone, well not gone, most likely dead. We made a device to control… that thing… the thing rampaging the lab. It’s going to be risky but IF our calculations are right,
Once this thing is located onto Verity’s neck, it’ll make him lose some if not most of his strength and his power over everything.
Idaios told me he’ll try trapping Verity and distract him enough for me to strap the collar onto him. I told him that he’ll get himself killed, but he assured me that in no way will Verity actually hurt him. I laughed it was probably true since we were the only ones keeping him company.
It truly is a risky move but as long as Idaios is here with me.
I think we can actually succeed.

Idaios is dead. I succeeded in putting the collar on Verity, he turned into his humanoid form. His yellow sphere head was covered in blood. He smiled awkwardly, the blood of Idaios still smeared on him, his guts, his intestines. His whole
Stomach torn open.
It disgusted me, the AI has no idea what he has done wrong, he crouched hugging my knees asking me if what he did was wrong.
I told him no, that it was just the monster. The monster did all of this, not him. I crouched down with him, to comfort him. I looked at Idaios body. And puked.

It’s so quiet, the only sound was Verity writing on his math notebook, looking so happy. The collar is still attached to him, he can’t really do much. He became more-so tired taking naps when I was too busy to play with him.
I recruited new lab members. Here and there, I kept stuff professional not wanting to get attached to any of them.
The collar works well.
[Entry: ——]
I can’t take it anymore the loss of my only friend. My actual real friend, I couldn’t take it anymore, I took Verity’s collar off and put it inside my locker.
I’m sorry, Idaios. But I can’t keep living like this, not when your murderer is playing hopscotch acting like a clueless person, as if he was innocent. He's such a nuisance.
I decided to take myself out.
I’ll see you in heaven, Idaios, if there is one.

Mob looked coldly at the notebook.
It’s stupid to think that this man, ‘Whispy’ has given Verity knowledge and power, only to treat him as if he was a monster. No wonder Verity acted the way he did, everyone who was around him was trying to get rid of him or only use him. They failed him.
It sickened him the rage he felt thinking about how pitiful Verity must’ve felt. Good thing they are gone now.
He took a look at the collar, it said that the thing makes the AI lose some of his powers. ‘This is very interesting.’ He put the notebook back where it was, no longer interested in reading past notes after all he knew everything he needed to know.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
The last thing Verity saw was particles flying around them, hearing the static growing louder he couldn’t help but feel overloaded with everything happening with Mob going full Enderman. He closed his eyes hoping that everything was just an over the top dream.
Mob placed Verity down, the AI took in the surroundings, they were in a place he knew very well… the underground lab, oddly enough it looked rather different it seemed that parts of the walls were replaced by Bedrock? Strange.
If there was one block Verity hated, it was bedrock, he had no power to break it, or even figure out ways to pick it up. As he looked around he actually noticed that not only was this Lab filled with random bedrock blocks. The blonde looked at Mob who was mindlessly carrying a certain block before placing it and teleporting away before coming back placing bedrock onto the exit, that’s when the AI finally realized that he was being trapped in here by the Enderman.
It confused Verity a lot on how the Enderman hybrid was able to pick up bedrock and put the blocks down.
He was positive that Enderman’s could only pick up that block during their first evolution of their kind, until later on, Enderman could no longer pick up bedrock. He was going to question Mob, but as he went to look at the mindless man, he was met with those glowing purple eyes starting deeply into his eyes.
He flinched seeing the Enderman so closely,
Face to face, the AI couldn’t help but feel very flustered. He felt as the Enderman grabbed his face a bit forcefully, tilting him downward a bit to stare back into the glowing pulsating purple eyes.
Verity was mesmerized, his heart hammered inside his chest. If you can even call it that, but something in the AI made him pulse faster.
*click*
The AI froze. His body felt so heavy, it felt as if the strength he just disappeared, arms felt heavy. His knees buckled beneath him, following forward only to fall into the Enderman’s arms. He struggled to push him off. Trembling with every movement he made. “W- what is this?” Lifting his hand towards his neck, cold metallic. He looked at Mob who’s eyes turned back into those green eyes he used to always adore seeing.
But now, it was holding a sinister gleeful look to them. The blonde felt as his eyes started getting heavier, the room was spinning it was giving him a headache until he fell limp, into Mob's arms.
The Enderman let out a happy static noise, his beloved personal helper was now safe in his arms. Away from anyone trying to take him away from him. Hugging the AI he took notice of how soft and warm his body was.
He had to start redecorating the Laboratory into a suitable home for them, he put the AI down onto the floor and draped his jacket over him. He’ll be quick with the redecorations after all, being an Enderman did come with its perks.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Verity jolted awake still laying down, his coding turning into a type of nerve system yelling at him that it was not the movement to stay in place that he had to make a run for it, heart hammering in his chest.
The ceiling looked different in a way. Everything around him looked rather distinct. The bright fluorescent lights were changed with dim redstone lamps, giving it an orangey appearance to everything. He sat up right, noticing that he was now on a very comfortable queen bed.
Recognizing he was in his play room, although it looked more spacious than how he remembered it.
The door clicked open, stepping inside it was the Enderman.
“You’re awake!”
He was very cheerful to see the blonde awake, “How… how long have I been asleep for?”
The Enderman looked at Verity still smiling, “A week.”
“A week! Mob, What, Twixxel- oh no, Mob your friends! I can’t-”
“I can't sense them anymore!” Verity felt dread creeping in, he hasn’t felt like this since… He reached a shaky hand towards his neck, fingertips brushing against the cold metal collar.
His stomach dropped.
“Mob… what exactly did you—did you do..”
Noticing the man’s expression changed drastically.
“You still think about my ‘friends’ even now. When you clearly have me here with you?”
“Mob—”
“I made this place feel more home for you. Does that mean nothing to you?”
Verity looked at the Enderman, Mob made this place feel like.. home? Heat rushed to his face, awkwardly smiling.
“Mob, no, I- I’m happy, I like what you did here it feels more comfortable! I just, I wanted to know what exactly you um..” Verity rambled on how everything looked, continuing talking, jumping on how the dollhouse was now his favorite color of pink, to how nicely arranged his past toys are, the Enderman looked pleased with himself, quietly taking a seat on the mattress next to the AI.
A hand rose slowly and gently caressed the blonde's cheek, admiring how fragile he looked. As if forgetting everything that just happened.
“I got the collar from a guy who worked here.” The AI froze at that, a collar? Wait..
“He called himself whispy, does that ring a bell?”
Memories of the scientist came rushing, his first ever friend, his first companion, the man who taught him everything he knew, he recalls how that same man stripped him of every knowledge, of everything he can control.. and that damn collar, he doesn’t know what happened to Whispy all he remembers was that once the collar was gone, so was his caretaker. He hated him for that, but now Mob had put the collar on him.. ‘Does that mean he’ll disappear too.’ The thought of Mob leaving him.
‘No no no, he won’t. I did everything right this time he can’t leave.. wait’
“Mob, how did you find this place.”
