Chapter Text

Branzy was the first to slowly stir awake.

The first thing he registered was a heavy, comforting weight on top of him. He couldn’t move at all. Since he was barely aware of his current predicament, his first drifting thought when waking up was that he had to continue working on projects for Clown. So, he sluggishly cracked open an eyelid, only to look up and realise he didn’t recognise the room he was in.

Huh? Where was he?

It took a barely a minute of him floundering through his muddled consciousness, disconcertedly attempting to work out how he could have possibly ended up like this, before the memories came rushing back to him.

Oh…

Following that, it took another few minutes to fully reprocess all the information he had gained the previous night. He was in Clown’s room. The weight on top of him was Clown himself, who had all four limbs, plus his tail, wrapped around him protectively. Clown, who was actually a demon, was currently in an instinct-driven state because of it. Oh, and also, he would be practically glued to the other’s side for the next week.

Still, he figured, the demon couldn’t have been too literal about him not being allowed to leave his side whatsoever. They still needed food and water! He would have to go get that. Maybe, hopefully, he would be back before his partner could realise he ever even left.

Branzy tried freeing himself from underneath Clown, which took painstakingly long since he was also taking great care to not wake him. He looked really peaceful while asleep.

Eventually, he did succeed and he, reluctantly, got out of bed. He really didn’t want to leave, it was comfortable and warm, and he enjoyed cuddling with Clown. But, he knew that as soon as he got back, that would most likely be what they continued doing.

He had only made it a few feet away, heading towards the door, when he felt something snaking around his ankle. He jumped, obviously, because what the fuck? He hadn’t seen nor heard anyone move! Who or what had just grabbed him?

His panicking was interrupted when he felt a familiar, warm body against his back, looming over him since the demon was taller. A pair of arms encircled his waist as Clown rested his head on his shoulder, near his neck, and snuggled against it.

Clownpierce…

He should have guessed it. Clown, who had somehow, miraculously woken up, had appeared out of thin air behind Branzy to scare him half to death. He didn’t even make a sound, it was seriously creepy! That totally did not freak Branzy out at all.

”…Where do you think you’re going?” His words were slurred, clearly having just woken up, but his senses and reaction time were just as sharp as ever.

”Clown, you scared me!” He was still slightly shaken. “When did you wake up? I made sure not to disturb you.”

The demon’s only reaction was letting out a low croon against his throat.

“And, just to the kitchen, we need food and water. You can go back to sleep, sorry to have woken you up.” He answered the previous question.

”No, we don’t.”

”Yes, we do-“

With a vague hand gesture from Clown, both of those appeared in a corner of the room.

Oh. Clown did mention he could teleport, it made sense that that extended to not just himself. Well, that ability sure was handy!

”Solved. Also, you wouldn’t have been able to exit anyways. This whole room is controlled by my magic, remember?” He explained.

”Oh, so, I’m literally trapped in here?” The human joked. He was fine with it.

”Yes, I’ve decided I’m gonna keep you here forever.” He quipped, mirth evident in the sound. Might as well have meant it though.

Branzy spun around in his hold to actually face Clown and was met with a peculiar sight. Clown, in his demon form, with his hair messed up and his pupils blown wide, black almost fully overtaking blue and red. As beautiful as always, of course.

The average player would have been intimidated, not Branzy, though. He was stupidly in love with him.

”Let’s go back now.” Clown decided and without waiting for a response started heading back, dragging the other along with him.

Was Clown now even more impatient and stubborn? Whatever, Branzy found it endearing.

And they were back to their original position, cuddling. Clown, while also hugging him, had his head on Branzy’s chest as the latter unsuccessfully attempted to engage in conversation.

”Are you just not in the mood to talk?” Branzy questioned as he was giving up. He was simultaneously playing with his partner’s hair and scratching his scalp, which he was sure Clown loved, considering the fact he was purring again.

”No… But, you can go on.” He replied while toying with his mate’s fingers on his unoccupied hand. Branzy was aware of the fact that Clown enjoyed his rambling, he often spent hours listening to Branzy go on and on about plans he had for more death games, traps, and the circus.

And so he did. He begun his meandering, commenting on anything and everything while also making sure to be affectionate to his partner. The demon’s gaze stayed trained on him perpetually, holding a deep devotion and tenderness.

-

After what was probably a few hours Branzy noticed that Clown had stopped listening by his lack of nods and ‘mhm’s.

That was odd… He usually always payed attention even when he himself stayed completely silent.

He was still more than awake. His eyes were fixated on Branzy even more intensely than before, pupils impossibly dilated. However, the purring continued. The engineer also noted how much he resembled a feline. Anyhow, he looked… out of it.

”Uh…C-Clown?” He tried, “Are you still with me?” Yet was met with silence as he was slowly getting unnerved by the other’s behaviour.

 …

”…Cute.” The demon at last muttered quietly, almost imperceptibly, yet Branzy caught it anyways. The sound barely audible through his purring.

W-What!?

Was that referring to him-

Branzy flushed a rosy colour yet again. This had happened too many times in the past twenty-four hours. If his current predicament had allowed it, he would have buried his face beneath a pile of pillows to escape the things Clown was saying, but it didn’t.

Nevertheless, he had no time to sulk in his bashfulness for Clown was quick to move. He climbed on top of Branzy, effectively pining him down before even giving him a chance to react.

Then, he started kissing him, peppering soft butterfly kisses all over. All while also overwhelming him by murmuring praises, or more like his truest, sweetest thoughts.

”I love you…” He started from the top of his hair.

“You’re just too lovable, adorable… sweet.” He crooned as he moved onto his eyelids. He seemed too lost in his instincts to be thinking clearly. He meant every single word.

”Love… Hey, what do you want? I’ll protect you from anything, give you hearts, all the redstone stuff you could ever need… you won’t ever have to deal with being alone again. Anything you desire, I’ll do it.” Next, his jaw.

If the human was any less stupefied by the affection, he’d return the sentiment. Tell Clown he loved him too, that the only thing he needed was to stay by his side. He was sure Clown knew all of that, no need to verbally respond to someone who could read his mind and very soul. So, instead, he interlaced their hands, giving a consolatory, weak squeeze in hopes of conveying through the action everything he was unable to eloquently put into words.

”You’ll never, ever leave me, I’ll never leave you. You’re staying with me forever… because I adore you too much.” He focused on the other’s neck and collarbones. “I love you eternally…forever.”

”…Mine.”

Unexpectedly, like literally out of the blue, he bit down swiftly on the junction between his neck and shoulder. Not hard enough to draw blood, of course, he wouldn’t be that careless with his lover.

-Ouch!

Branzy let out a small shriek, a whine, not as much out of pain as it was of shock.

The sound seemed to snap Clown out of whatever trance he was in, even if only partially. His face took on a concerned expression immediately. For a moment, even his constant purring stopped.

He repeatedly kissed the area apologetically, continued purring and crooning, possibly meaning to provide comfort, as he susurrated soft apologies. It worked, Branzy found the sound very pleasant, it did comfort him.

After he seemed to be satisfied with his doting and fussing over his mate, yet still looking at him remorsefully, he finally placed a kiss on his lips. It was saccharine, gentle, repentant.

”…Sorry, I didn’t mean to, don’t know what came over me-“ He started to speak as he nuzzled his cheek against Branzy’s. He got interrupted.

”Clown- seriously, it’s fine! No need to be sorry, It didn’t hurt bad. I was just startled, that’s all.” He didn’t mind it, he was preoccupied trying to soothe the demon in front of him.

”Are you sure?” He grumbled while looking over him meticulously.

Geez- Was that what he meant by ‘overprotective’?

Branzy wasn’t complaining, though. Clown’s solicitousness felt nice, it warmed his heart seeing his partner be this troubled over the most miniscule of harm to his person.

Huh… He really was oh so loved.

” ‘Course you are, I keep telling you.” Clown sounded more as if he was complaining, charmingly, as always.

In place of giving a lexical response, he giggled heartily as he wrapped his arms around Clown’s neck. That probably worked just fine to communicate his appreciation of him, he knew he was loved now.

Branzy changed the conversation. “Anyways, how do you like feel right now?” He inquired, checking in on his lover.

”Hm… Right now? Content. I’m happy because you are here. But, generally today, my whole thought process is blurry, though, I remember everything just fine.” He replied.

Branzy, upon hearing that, felt at ease. He flashed the demon a quick smile “Well, that’s good to know! Although, do make sure to tell me if you, at any point, feel off.”

”Will do.”

The human appreciatively placed a peck on his cheek and his lover, in turn, did the same.

The demon hybrid warbled, producing that distinct, cooing sound Branzy had now associated with the word home. It sounded like something between a purr and a croon, definitely not human. He had easily concluded that it was something demons did when pleased, to communicate their feelings, or to soothe someone. It had become his favourite sound in the whole world.

“Branzy, there is one last thing.” The assassin spoke up after a while.

”What is it?”

Clown untangled himself from his mate to sit up with his knees folded beneath himself, Branzy followed suit, mimicking the way he was sitting so that they were facing eachother. The former briefly raised his hand in the air to snap his fingers together. And so, out of thin air, an object materialised itself in his grasp.

He lowered his arm and brought it between them, opening his palm to present it to Branzy.

It was a pendant.

A thin silver chain with a crystal dangling from it, it glistened in the same way that Clown’s eyes did. The colour was reminiscent of one of Clown’s eyes as well, probably the exact shade. A dark crimson red, that of blood. It was quite beautiful.

”It’s for you, take it.” To which Branzy complied, taking it and securing it on his neck.

After observing it for just a few more seconds, Branzy looked up and spoke to convey his gratitude. “Thank you, I really like it!”

”Mhm.” The demon nodded with a complacent expression. “The crystal is infused with my magic, as long as you wear it I can find you easily and know when you are in danger.”

Oh wow…

Branzy was indeed impressed by the magic artefact now adorning his neck, but even more so moved by the sentimentality of the gift, it melted his heart. He felt cherished.

”Thank you! I promise not to ever take it off.” He clutched it in his hand, bringing it close to his heart. “I love you.”

”I love you more.”
