Chapter Text

When Spoke was born into this world, he didn’t remember much of his childhood, let alone his parents, since they died when he was just four years old. Instead, he was taken care of by his older brothers.

Funny enough, he remembered this particular memory from when he was a baby.

Spoke’s first memory that he remembered was Parrot holding him, his headwings flapping as a gesture of ‘hello’; Spoke’s first instinct was to try to grab them and his braid. Instead, Parrot used his other free hand to make Spoke grab his finger, and the baby voidling laughed. He was touched; he had never seen a baby this happy before.

Out of nowhere, “Mama!…” Spoke called Parrot ‘mama’ made the whole room quiet. Parrot froze, his face turning tomato red in an instant, his headwings immediately moved to hide his face. Wemmbu took this opportunity to steal Spoke from Parrot’s hands. “Stop hogging him, Parrot, I want to play with him too!” and tossing him in the air like it’s not a dangerous thing to do with a baby.

Flame was beside Parrot, snickering at his predicament. “Pfft— ‘Mama’ ”He mocked playfully, then chuckled again. Parrot just hid his whole body with his wings; he was so embarrassed, “Shut up, Flame…”

Then, the second memory he remembered and cherished the most was when Parrot brushed his hair. Parrot was brushing his hair, humming, although struggling with Spoke’s tangled, knotted hair.

“Ouch!..Ow! Be careful with my hair, Parrot!” Spoke screeched, trying to not to flinch too hard.

“…Ugh, Spoke! I told you again and again to brush your own hair, your hair easily knots when you don’t brush it consistently!” Parrot stated that he did tell him time and time again to do his own haircare by himself but of course, Spoke was being difficult and… rather Parrot do it instead.

“I do not want to!” In the end, Parrot had to keep up with Spoke’s demands to brush his starry-kissed hair, filled with tiny particles of bright lights acting as the stars in the night sky. Parrot didn’t hate the brushing time, especially since he liked to brush Spoke’s hair and mesmerize at the shining stars in it. It was quite funny for Spoke that Wemmbu was secretly jealous of this and sometimes demanded that Parrot to brush his hair after training or when he got home, instead of playing with Egg, even though he could do it by himself.

And then a third memory, not really a memory, or rather a thing he loved when Parrot called him Summer. He had no clue why Parrot called him with that particular season, but he did give Flame and Wemmbu the same thing, Spoke thought at first; maybe it was a pattern or some sort?

But when Spoke asked him, he said, “Well, the reason is simple, Spoke, you are like the summer to me, especially your smile, your personality, your… whole thing is like a bright sunny sky,” which, to Spoke, was still vague and not like him, but that answered his question anyway. ‘You are wrong; I am not the light you wanted me to be…’ He disagreed with the sentiment in his own mind; he is not a bright child like Parrot, as seen in him. He was the black void; pulling someone close to him might ruin their life and engulf everything, but correcting Parrot directly might break his mama's heart.

and the universe said you are the daylight

Whenever Spoke thought about Parrot, he always saw Parrot as his parent, his mama, not as his brother. He was… different. Even if Parrot was busy working two jobs, he always made time for Spoke, reading to him, preparing food and snacks, hairstyling his hair into two half pigtails, sometimes sleeping with him in the nest when he had a nightmare, and even teaching him, despite Spoke sometimes having a hard time processing the information.

He heard, more like eavesdropped on, a conversation between Minute and Parrot. It wasn’t strange since Minute usually visited them two or three days a week because he was busy being the End Guardian, and the only adult Parrot he could trust and easily communicate with in times of urgency, since most of their family members were outside of this server. He couldn’t hear much of it, but it was something along the lines of ‘some kind of illness passed on’.

Due to Spoke’s intense curiosity, he decided to sneak into Parrot’s bedroom. He spotted a desk full of papers and books, and he walked to it. He noticed some papers and squinted to read them. He couldn’t understand most of it; it was like a research paper of some sort. He read, “...Borderline Personality Disorder? What’s that?” He tried reading it more, and instead, got more confused than anything, with most of the words not in the vocabulary that he knew. He was thirteen years old, who barely read, and didn’t like to read unless it was Parrot who read it for him, to Parrot’s despair, because Spoke didn’t want to try to learn. He sighed, resigned, and left the room.

At least he did know it was some illness, not like a god-given one like Parrot had, which Spoke was still upset about for years. Spoke felt Parrot seemed defeated yet surrendered to his fate, making him upset, but of course, he didn’t have any power to lift it; he just cursed the gods who let children die this awful, cruel way. There was a saying, ‘No parent should bury their children,’ meaning that the parents should die first. Spoke refused that vile, horrific, terrible belief.

Spoke glanced at his heart-shaped jewel on his waist chain, the rainbow jewel necklace that Parrot gave him, and he modified it to his own style. Two of his brothers, Flame and Wemmbu, modified it into bracelets because both of them wanted to protect them and hide their relations, or rather, they wanted to keep their cards close to their chests. Spoke did not care about this and purposely let it out in the open. It’s true that he just let his heart on his sleeve, but he wanted to know that SpokeisHere himself would be there for his brothers.

Spoke breathed out, walking through the hallway as if nothing had happened.

The motherbird didn’t deserve any of that at all.

When Spoke was finally 17 years old, he finally set out to explore Unstable. He understood he was not a good person, making trouble with everyone. The exploit, lying to Wemmbu, and playing god.

And then the scavenger hunt; it was one of the worst mistakes of his life.

When Spoke told the schemes of what he did, how Parrot was easy to manipulate. Then, the moment he saw Parrot’s pristine, untouched by the scars face slowly manifested crack marks over his face for the first time. Spoke triggered the curse; it was his fault.

Parrot froze, his mouth wide open, trembling, not knowing what to say. Unexpectedly for Spoke, he smiled. It was a painful, forced smile. Spoke expected a yell, a scold at least, but not… this. This is way more painful to look at.

Spoke didn’t realize his left hand was gripping his waist chain like a lifeline, ‘Come on… Just scold me, yell at me… Looking at me like that… it made me feel worse’. It was worse because he knew Parrot liked to keep it in to himself until he broke, and Spoke forgot about that, the feeling of guilt eating him alive.

Then, Parrot walked away and didn’t say anything, avoiding the whole scene that had happened to him.

Spoke was left alone on that cold, snowy night. He didn’t know why he felt so alone. His body trembling, yearning for the warmth, the hug, the affection he craved from his motherbird. He started to hug himself pathetically. It was useless; he felt colder than ever.

He truly felt… alone

And so, Spoke continued his own adventures, ultimately having to confront the Mafia. It was inevitable; they were growing strong, and people feared them, to the point that so many players joined them out of necessity, their survival in this forsaken server.

Spoke was still shaken the moment he killed iMajesticRose. He can’t erase the blood on his hands.

And then District 13.

And so many more.

Spoke admitted it all went by in a blur; time felt way faster than usual. So many events, yet Spoke barely remembered for the most of them.

Then, it happened.

Mapicc was missing.

Spoke didn’t know what to do other than search, find answers, kill innocent Players, repeat.

Spoke was nearing his last straw and decided to… threaten to blow up Capital City unless someone somehow gave him proof that Mapicc was alive, whether he was captured or not.

It was a perfect plan; he had already created the machine, just needing to fill the contraption with TNT.

Then he heard footsteps, the familiar footsteps, and the sound of wings fluttering.

No, Spoke was not ready to see him today!

The stars in Spoke’s hair dimmed, not as bright as usual, making Parrot worried for his youngest brother, his Summer.

The last time they interacted was not that great; it was when Parrot was dealing with the Director debacle, and Parrot didn’t say anything about it to Spoke for his own good, especially since he didn’t want Spoke to get targeted.

Parrot sighed and tried to talk it out with Spoke.

Spoke couldn’t stand to look Parrot eye to eye because the moment he did, he would see his mistakes on Parrot’s marked body.

Parrot’s body started to crack again, and he got a killer headache, ‘…Not now’.

Then, Spoke snapped.

“— Leo! Lettuce! Everybody in charge! Everyone that says they're... says they're for justice... and then when it's... oh, when it's perfectly convenient, they'll just do this to you. What I'm doing right now is nothing compared to what they have been doing for months on end!” Spoke finally turned to Parrot, facing him, tears streaming from his eyes, didn’t care that it hurt him.

“You- YOU'VE SEEN SPAWN! YOU'VE SEEN WHAT THIS SERVER HAS COME TO! IT IS NOT THE FAULTS OF US! PARROT! WE'VE SEEN A NORMAL SERVER! WE'VE SEEN A- A NORMAL—WE COULD JUST PLAY! I DON'T UNDERSTAND! THEY JUST KILL! THEY DESTROY! THEY- I'VE BEEN MOVED THOUSANDS OF BLOCKS AWAY! I- I DON'T HAVE A HOME ANYMORE! I DON'T HAVE A FRIEND ANYMORE! I- “ He stopped himself, sniffling.

“—I- THIS IS- THERE'S NO- I never intended to blow this place up. I never intended to. But if he's actually gone, I don't understand. What's stopping me? What's stopping me? It's all ready to go. Parrot, do you at least want to watch?” He offered, showing a strained smile that hurt Parrot inside. What even happened? How much does Parrot miss??

Guilt rose within Parrot.

Parrot tried to reason again, again, and again, even though Spoke kept cutting Parrot off.

“You- You don't understand what I'm saying. If I were to kill your closest friends, someone you cared about more than anyone else on the server, if that person was left dead, banned, then maybe you'd understand how I felt right now. Are you ready?”

Spoke seemed like he was going to have a panic attack, physically shaking like a leaf, and Parrot needed him to snap out of it.

One final chance, Parrot.

Parrot exhaled and inhaled, “ I mean, in theory, you're right, except that probably all the people that you're thinking about are already dead. I've been around on this server just as long as you have, Spoke. I've gone through just as many things as you have. And to think that you're the only one who's lost one of their friends is just not true…” Parrot had already lost too much, but Spoke didn’t need to hear that right now. He didn’t need Spoke worried for him.

“…What even happened, Summer?” The moment Spoke heard that nickname that Spoke adored, cherished, even if it doesn’t fit the person Spoke is, he hugged Parrot tightly, crying as loudly as he could.

“W-Woah—” Parrot didn’t expect that hug and slightly lost his balance for a bit. He sighed fondly, “There… there, Spoke.” He stroked Spoke’s horns, then his hair. The cold of a voidling was replaced by his motherbird’s body heat. He was not cold anymore. He missed the warmth of his motherbird; he missed his motherbird's affections.

Yeah, they were going to be fine, even if it was a little while.

And so, the four brothers finally reunited and fought back against LAW. It was difficult at first due to them clashing against their own philosophies and beliefs. Spoke knew that, but he guessed it was normal. They were not exactly on the same page for a long time, after all.

Then they won.

Spoke was happy. Parrot finally got what he deserved.

Although, looking at the crowd right now on his coronation day, most people… were not happy in the slightest, maybe because most of them were LAW supporters?

Not that important; Spoke was sure that Parrot could get through their thick skulls.

Finally, Parrot appears on the castle balcony, gracing them with his new appearance. Before, his hair was brown with black and white streaks in his bangs, while green, blue, and some red streaks were on the sides; don’t forget the side braid dyed in purple; it was supposed to represent his late best friend, Wifies. His clothes were similar to those of an explorer, exploring in the jungle; especially the goggles fit perfectly with that description of an explorer. Spoke assumed that Parrot fit that way; he always explores something or some secrets within this server.

Now, his hair is dyed green with a blue gradient; there are also some red and yellow streaks in it. His clothes have now changed to a dark green kimono, with white ruffles inside it, and sakura blossom motifs around the fabric. It fits him; he was the Spring after all. Spoke was glad that Parrot finally moved from the past and went forward to the present, rather than being stuck in the past; this new look definitely proved that, unlike him.

Upon a closer look, Spoke realized two of his brothers and Egg seemed uncomfortable about something. Something on Parrot? Something else? What’s going on?

Spoke looked back, staring at Parrot’s appearance again; his hair, also braided in a bun, a Dutch braided style, and the crown with green jewels, resembled the tree’s branches; it’s so perfect for him, and then— Oh, Spoke could see the reason why they looked uncomfortable: Parrot wearing a black veil on his coronation day.

“…Oh,” His lips pressed together in a slight grimace.

A black veil with a black ribbon on it on the back of his hair; it’s good on him, Spoke admitted, but he guessed that Parrot someday, somehow, still mourned about his future that didn’t exist in the first place. That veil is his own reminder that he could not live longer than other people. He was predestined to die young, too early. Unfortunately, of course, people were going to misunderstand Parrot for wearing a black veil meant for mourning, think it for something else, but no matter, Spoke didn’t care one bit.

After this, Spoke had to focus on finding Mapicc.

.

.

.

So he did find him… well, sort of—

So, for a recap, Spoke hired Jumper to look for Mapicc, eventually found a team of bandits, until he discovered these Players are not normal; they have completely black skins and unreadable usernames, and they don’t even die to his trap. Eventually, these hunters, whom he called NULL, targeted bad people in the server.

Later, Spoke asked Parrot for help, but he knew Parrot had no time for him, especially with his king duties; even he looked sicker than before. He was coughing a lot these days.

Spoke turned away, not looking directly, and asked again, feeling guilty to burden his sick motherbird with his problem.

Parrot then politely said no to him and assumed maybe, mayhaps these bandits were more helpful than harmful, which pushed Spoke's buttons. Spoke should have known that once Parrot was busy with something, he would focus on other things first, then other, the other would eventually be left out and be seen as unimportant. At least Parrot did give him five guards with Jumper to go.

.

.

.

.

.

Well, that’s not aged well…

Great Spoke, you got captured… You even sent your best friend back to purgatory because of your own doings… what a rotten luck.

This is your own fault; you made them stuck here.

If they start to blame you, you know that they are right.

You should just give up and die in that maze, killed by your best friend like you were supposed to.

Spoke, staring at his dark, empty cell. His friends- are they even friends anymore? Spoke didn’t know; he was losing hope in this unforgiving prison, Purgatory. It was clear in the name; this place is… something else. Then he looked at the scars on his arms. He was never getting out of here; Jamato had completely played him.

He sighed; this was completely hopeless.

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msBXXhnIUwM stop at 2:03 ]

He didn’t know why he opened his mouth. “Silly dreamer, what were you thinking?” He didn’t expect himself to sing. He missed his motherbird singing; he missed hugging Mapicc’s; he missed his friends’ warmth

“You dreamed so big, there was no way you could win…” He sang quietly; his voice was a bit raspy, but he didn’t care much.

On the other side of his cell, it was Mapicc and Jumper’s cell. They were silent at first, either still mad at Spoke or trying to calm themselves down; more to Jumper's side of things, Mapicc was usually not calm, especially after Spoke manipulated him like a toy, a puppet. He felt betrayed yet… he felt like he wanted to stay with him still.

Then they heard him singing out of nowhere; his voice sounded rough but quiet, quiet so un-Spoke for them. And the song is so… childish yet so desolate.

Mapicc can’t help but worry for his former best friend. He never acted like this before. Is this song meant for Spoke himself?

“Silly dreamer, your hope is sinking.” Spoke continued, sniffled; a tear came out of his eye.

“You never really had a chance, so why did you bother to begin?” He had asked himself this question before, yet still unknown.

Spoke slowly, getting up, walking, pacing around his cell. “When your most favorite dream's about to shatter… and you see it'll never come true.” His dream was made up with Mapicc, be good again, just like old times, whereas it will never come true because Mapicc will never forgive him again.

“Why keep on hoping your dream will ever matter?…” He gradually walks near the iron bars, grips one of it, glanced the outside world. “And if it won't… What's the matter with you?” He turned back and went back to sit in the corner while Mapicc and Jumper slowly grew more concerned.

“Silly dreamer, You're better off with open eyes… No disappointments or being taken by surprise”

“You wished upon a star, but it was too high to achieve.” Spoke’s arm reached for something, anything, but it was just nothing- something unattainable, since he always ruins everything he touches.

“Silly dreamer…. Silly dreamer, weren't you just silly to believe?” Spoke snuggled his own legs and hid his face, wanting to cry, but all of a sudden—

“Silly dreamer, don't stop your dreaming!” Spoke’s head lifted up, saw a small version of his big brother Wemmbu, smiling at him, cheering. What?

“No dream's too big, and no victory too small!” On Wemmbu’s left, a younger version of Flame appears as well, like magic. Yeah, Spoke was going crazy because why was he seeing younger versions of his brothers?

And of course, a younger version of Parrot, his motherbird, his Spring, graced him with his appearance once again. “Silly dreamer, It's you who leads us,” Spoke knew deep inside of him that he was probably hallucinating this, but he can’t help and getting hopeful, even if it’s just a false hope. His brain was making these up just to cheer him up, and realizing that he missed the younger days when he was just playing around; now he was carelessly digging too deep, even into his own grave.

“Without our dreams, how on End… would we get anywhere at all?” Wemmbu sang while gesturing vaguely.

Then three of them came together, hands on their own shoulders, “When it seems like you ought to stop believing, and it feels like there's no more you can do,” while Spoke took shallow breaths, defeated.

“Just hold on, knowing darkness is deceiving… With the light, all your dreams may just come true...” Three of them gestured, their hands reaching high like reaching to the sky.

Spoke smiled, looking at the ceiling of this agonizing cell- not a strained smile, a genuine smile; it was strange even for him, but he still believed he could do it, that he could leave this place.

Meanwhile, from Mapicc and Jumper’s point of view, which was disturbing, they heard Spoke’s quiet singing and then suddenly stopped?

“Uhm… Spoke, are you okay?” Jumper asked, concerned for once; sure, they hated him, but this was so un-Spoke of him. It was better than nothing.

“Y-Yeah, I am okay!”

It’s now or never, Spoke.

In a whimpering and trembling state, he choked on his sob and was soon asleep.

In the end, Spoke became the new Null Leader.

He had to sacrifice Mapicc by windcharging him. He would meet him someday, somehow, but for now, it was a goodbye. It was also letting go of his… past, in a way, with him. When Mapicc fell, Spoke’s memories were going against him, reminding him of bittersweet old memories that were precious to him, now tainted by his own doings.

Goodbye, Mapicc…

Jumper? She’s been long gone; no matter, it was not important for now.

He commanded that Jamato come with him, cuffed him up, and then go back to the Overworld.

By the time he was walking through a netherracks bridge, there was no rail and unsafe to walk on; something was falling near him. He looked back at his side, and lo and behold, his rainbow heart jewel was falling to the depths of lava where he couldn’t even reach it.

His arm tried to reach it, hopefully grappling for it; that jewel was made by Parrot, he couldn’t lose it now, but then his hand suddenly stopped moving. Spoke stared at the jewel, finally sizzling, burning away, destroying itself slowly in the lava pool. His hair went even fainter than before, the stars in his hair growing dimmer.

He stand back and turned away, “Is that all right?…”_________ asked. Spoke’s head shook his head lightly, and smiled lightly. “Yeah, it isn’t anything important…” Spoke didn’t know why, but he felt nothing, a sudden numbness.

He turned back for a while, watching the jewel being swallowed up by the lava, then went back with Null.

He finally came back to the Overworld. At first, Spoke was happy to be back, but then he saw the trees… have no leaves?

Something wasn’t right…

“Commander, I think our journey to the End must halt here for now…” He decided. This caused shock to _______ and the army even Jamato to the point of the commander taking a step back.

The commander inquired, “What— Why? Why now?”

Spoke’s left eye twitched; he didn’t want to waste any time. “Are you demanding me?”

The commander shook his head, “N-No, I meant—”

“Fine, I'll tell you why…” Spoke, cutting him off, walked slowly towards the flower bushes. One bush of dead, dried white roses, one bush of black mulberry. “I have three brothers…”

Jamato’s eyes widened; he didn’t know Spoke had brothers. It was a surprise for everyone, really.

“You didn’t know, and that’s fair. We promised not to open up that we are related to each other in this server for our own safety…” He plucked up one of the dried roses, carefully staring at it like a specimen.

“Then, what’s the point of all this?…”

“One of them… is more like a parent to me; he raised me, taught me the way of life, but life— No, those dumb, mindless, egotistical Gods decided to have another plan for him; they ruined his life from the moment he was born. He was given a curse… You should know what happened, right?” He looked back at the commander while crushing the dried flower with a blank face and those white, murky eyes.

________ knew what that meant, especially Null came from the Primordial Void, Goddess of the Void. A curse from the Gods is typically a bad thing waiting to happen; worst-case scenario, the victim will have to endure a slow death for years. From Spoke’s explanation, it is similar to that.

Spoke stood up, walking back to them. “Yeah, I wanted to see him before his death, I guess… I owe him so much; he already sacrificed his childhood for my other brothers and me. He was always selfless to a fault”

‘He was my inspiration and courage to be a good person’ goes unsaid.

“…Who is he?” The commander can’t help but be curious, curious why Spoke admired him this much.

“His name is…” The sun went down, yet the orange sunlight still shone on Spoke; the winds slowly caressed his clothing.

“ParrotX2”

Spoke was finally reunited with his two older brothers; he was confused at first. Flame and Wemmbu looked conflicted, avoiding each other; they even avoided Spoke’s contact. Normally, Spoke was not the sensible one in the family; he was the troublemaker. But he did what he had to do.

Then he asked them.

He thought it was a small problem, right?

No, of course it was a difficult and massive problem. Spoke knew it was too good to be true; this family had communication issues rooted deep.

Apparently, Flame and Wemmbu betrayed Parrot, his motherbird. Spoke couldn’t believe it. He gripped his forehead with one hand; he was getting a headache. The audacity of them betraying their oldest brother, the one who raised them, sacrificing everything, even the cost of his life, due to the curse.

Ultimately, they explained the reasons and the whole story to Spoke. They grew concerned when they glimpsed Spoke’s face; it was full of hatred, agony, and a shred of disappointment.

It reminded him a lot of a certain quote from a book that Parrot read for him.

Small Spoke gripped Parrot’s top half continuously. “Parrot! Parrot!… Please read this for me!” and he was showing a book called… The Setting Sun?!

Parrot flipped the book around and read the synopsis on the back, his hand pinching his nose.

That’s not children's book material.

Parrot, sweating bullets, unfortunately couldn’t say no to the younger Spoke, “Maybe you could pick something else, Spoke?” He pleaded

Eventually, Parrot gave up since Spoke never gave up when he wanted something. At least, he did dumb it down to the kid level of understand cause Spoke had trouble of understanding information since an early age.

When I pretended to be precocious, people gossiped that I was precocious.
When I acted lazy, they said I was lazy.
When I feigned an inabilty to write, they claimed I couldn’t write at all.
When I pretended to be a liar, they called me a liar.
When I acted as if I were rich, they said I was rich.
When I put on a show of being cold, they gossiped that I was cold-hearted.
But when I was truly suffering and let out a groan without thinking, people insisted I was just pretending to be in pain.
Somehow, we’re always out of sync.
—The Setting Sun, Osamu Dazai

People were so blind, too quick to believe propaganda, while Parrot was sacrificing his health for people again, taking advantage of him. This server isn't kind to people like Parrot; he knew it deep down, but the reality still hurt. It’s like they rejected the idea of generosity like what in their right mind refused such kindness?. These players are truly out of sync, having lost their own humanity.

“You know what, I don’t even want to hear it, let just go and find Parrot…” Spoke’s hand waved, dismissing the topic, too pissed off to care, while Wemmbu and Flame glanced at each other, then sighed.

Jamato was baffled, to say the least. He was confined to new built bedroom for Spoke; he was trapped in a cage that fit like a built-in closet. He never knew Spoke had brothers; he never mentioned them to him.

All of this new information gave him a head pain.

Day by day, he noticed Spoke never came to his room. His room was still pristinely clean, untouched; he didn’t even sleep in his own bed. It was unlike Spoke thing to do; he would make a mess by any minute. Spoke did say he wanted to take care of Parrot for the time being, especially since he was out of it can’t communicate properly, only chirping.

He was stunned; he never realized Spoke was this caring. He supposed that he never knew Spoke that well.

After Parrot gave Spoke a lullaby, his final lullaby. Spoke was holding himself was not to cry with him. He sang while his tears dropped down his face, and Spoke dared not wake up and ruin it all, but… hearing Parrot’s final wish? All he wanted was to weep in agony.

Spoke had been taking care of Parrot, never even leaving this room for days, even when Wemmbu, Flame begged him. ________ even had to give report inside the room cause he would never let go of Parrot out of his sight.

“My Winter, My Summer, My Fall, If I fall to slumber, please look at the bright blue sky… If it’s cloudy, I will make it bright for you again.” Those were his supposed final words, haunting Spoke of the death of his motherbird. He assumed that Parrot was saying these in case Parrot would die on the battlefield one day and couldn’t say goodbye to his brothers, but… hearing these things while pretending to be asleep hurts.

When he heard that Flame decided to do Parrot’s wish, it was… taking back his kingdom. Spoke was mad, enraged; Parrot was out of it, he wasn’t thinking clearly, and you decided to feed his delusion?!

Then Flame had his reasons; he wanted to fulfill Parrot’s wish before he died. Spoke couldn’t fight back after that; he just wanted Parrot to live more. He had just had his birthday days ago, and they couldn’t even celebrate it because they needed to prepare to fight the damn war.

Parrot had just turned 25 years old, sick, unresponsive sometimes, and now had to fight the war instead of resting like he needed to, just because he was so selfless, wanting to save everyone. He just wanted to take care of Parrot forever.

It was such a despairing, hopeless situation.

.

.

.

And so, Parrot died.

ParrotX2 withered away

Spoke was gasping for air, staring at Flame as Flame slowly picked up Parrot’s dead body. Wemmbu looked nauseous and ran away from the battlefield, while Eggchan followed him, worried. Then he heard some cheering from the other side. It was Saparata cheering for Parrot’s death, his precious motherbird. Acting like he was the saviour in this damn battlefield.

He didn’t realize that he was throwing his sword as a projectile weapon. “Spoke?…” Wemmbu was bewildered, didn’t expect that at all.

Swoosh

The sword he threw ended up injuring Saps’ left headwing. It’s not a big wound, just a graze, but still, it made Saps stop his cheering for the death of the First King, looking around for who attacked him.

Suddenly, he saw a glimpse of an axe aimed at him. He countered back, “It’s so lame, making someone the villain,” Spoke said calmly, while putting his military cap, adorned with his signature rainbow bandana as a bow around the cap, back on his head. He was still furious about what Saparata did, making Parrot the bad guy to the point making damn war over it.

“So lame, revolting against me”

Spoke was so disappointed; this is what Saparata could do? This is the second king of the Unstable? He just laughed for a bit while fighting against him.

Spoke struck back, “No, really, you think you’re Mr. Justice or something?” he taunted, making Saps pissed off. His eyes widened as he realized Spoke was underestimating him. The moment Spoke heard about Saparata, he hated him, telling and spreading lies about his brother, demeaning his name, and then the audacity of claiming to be the server saviour at it? No forgiveness from him.

“No, really, if only you judged him INNOCENT…” He looked bored, slashing Saparata’s left arm. Later on, Spoke was brushing his cape and the military uniform he was wearing. Saparata was perplexed while holding his injured arm; this amount of mood switch confused Saparata. He couldn’t analyze Spoke properly; the opponent was enjoying toying with him like he was a plaything. Saparata looked back, was going to call for help from his army, and he realized NULL was going to eradicate his army, killing them easily one by one; even ShoeBilly couldn’t even escape them.

“He wouldn’t have had to die, poor bird…. I mean, after all, it’s not my fault,” Spoke said with a cheerful smile, mocking his own opponent.

“Well, alright, I guess there’s no helping you…” Spoke said casually, leaving himself defenseless. It was a strange thing that Spoke did, but that was also a chance for Saparata to strike, and he took it. Saparata was in position to stab Spoke, but then, “That’s just not gonna fly…” Spoke grabbed Saps’ sword blade. “What?!” Saps didn’t expect Spoke to do that. Then Spoke pulled it, making Saparata lose his sword as a distraction, and then slashed his chest.

I want you to really taste that pain, lick it good

Saparata screamed in pain, while Spoke had a satisfied grin. Saparata muttered apologies and wanted to surrender, “You know, your “I’m sorry” won’t reach anyone, especially me… You can’t even read the room, you’re such a waste of air… Nothing but a useless Angel.” He mocked him with a bitter tone, then started to punch his light out with his bleeding, injured hand; he didn’t mind the pain. He glanced at his own bleeding arm, then laughed painfully, while tears streamed down his face. Saparata was struggling to be let free, but it was no use; Spoke would never let go of this so-called Angel who killed his motherbird out of his sight.

Jamato was standing near the fight while the NULL commander was there to watch Jamato so he could not escape; Jamato was wincing every time Spoke punched Saparata over and over, and over, and over again. He saw how much love Spoke had for his brother. Jamato saw Spoke dedicated to Parrot; he remembered only one time Spoke went through his bedroom in that cabin in the Jungle biome, only to make new clothes for his brother—No, his parent; it was news to Jamato: Spoke could sew and make clothes? He had never shown these skills to him.

Spoke was capable of being a good person; it’s just that Jamato didn’t see it, or rather, Spoke was, and always has been a secretive person in the beginning. Jamato didn’t know until now; he noticed that… his method to reform Spoke was a mistake in the beginning, a failure; it’s just making Spoke worse than before.

So lame, that the “villain” is the one still alive

So lame, that “justice” is the one that dies

How ironic it was that Saparata was the one alive while Parrot was the one who died; Parrot, to him, was the definition of what a hero should be, not Saparata, but Parrot died instead; this world not making any sense; this server is out of sync. Spoke is also a villain in this story, still alive despite everything he's done; he should be dead

Saparata was still pleading forgiveness while Spoke was trying to beat him to death,” I won’t stop hurting you, cuz I’m a mean and cruel person… that bird, what he was feeling as he died, you have no idea, do you?” He pulled Saps’ collar and screamed in anger. He pulled his punches again, again, again, again, again, and again, until his whole body turned blue.

“Enough already…. I’ll take on the role of villain, I just want you to apologize to him!” Spoke was getting sick of Saparata; he wanted Parrot, his Parrot, his motherbird, his Spring to live. Then he dropped him off, making Saparata fall harshly to the ground; then Spoke’s finger pointed at him with eyes full of hatred, despair, and sorrow.

“Cuz you’re the one who killed him, I judge you as GUILTY!”

It’s not that motherbird’s fault

Explanation for some symbolism in this chapter, when the heart jewel on Spoke's waist chain burned away by the lava and Spoke decided to leave it, not caring for it, it's supposed to be symbolism of Spoke letting go of his last piece of humanity, but also his last piece of self. For the first song part, Spoke was missing his brothers so much that he hallucinated them and was aware of it.

Anyway, yeah I made my own childhood song to angst cause HELL YEAH and I did promise you a Milgram song in the first fic. Again so sorry for not uploading soon because i was struggling making this chapter + actually doing smp roleplay as well and life been busy.

Before I end this notes, please that I am happy that you can use, express what you write with my headcanons especially my seasons imagery for the uu quartet brothers but do not use AI.

I don't really know if this person has seen my fic before or just used similar seasons imagery to the uuq brothers. At first, I was happy, like finally I found someone that has similar headcanons to mine, until it was AI-Generated. I was so disappointed, and they didn't tag it as Ai-Generated, so please, if you guys use AI to make fics, PLEASE TAG THEM so people who hate it can filter; that counts as mistagging and violates AO3 Terms.

With that out of the way, if you want to interact with me like ask me something, you can go through my tumblr or twitter through my strawpage here or even give me fanart through it, i will cross-post every gimmick on my Tumblr and Twitter!

Thank you for reading my fic, hope you have a joyful day :D

OH MY GOD I HATE THIS, I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED IT
