Chapter Text
White blinked. They were just dead a minute ago, weren’t they?
“.. What?”
They stuttered out in a weak voice. They looked to their side, Green next to them. They seemed shaken up, hands shaking and visor wide.
Green stared at White. White held their breath.
This crewmate..
Killed them earlier, right? They were PRETTY sure they saw the unpaid intern slash at their throat, leaving a thin line between life and death for White, right??
“ W-wasn’t I just dead?..”
Green muttered out, sounding like they had been strangled.
White stared at Green.
So they weren’t going crazy. Green knew about it too. Would everyone else know?
They hadn’t even notice the tape was still playing before smoke clouded the room.
Through the smoke, Orange stepped out, but they looked as if they weren’t actually there, their trust ball clutched tightly in their hand. As if they were somewhere else mentally. Their visor landed on the two, who both stared wide eyed at Orange.
“….. Aren’t you two dead?”
Orange said, completely out of their usual cheerful tone. It was… Quiet. Questioning, as if it shouldn’t even be there.
The three of them just stared at each other for a minute, Orange completely forgetting to say their lines and give them the chance to share about themselves with the trust ball, the hunk of plastic thudding to the floor.
White stared at the two before jumping out of their seat and rushing out into the Skeld, screaming about how Green was going to kill them, shoving Orange to the ground. Orange yelped, trying to grab onto one of the nearby seats, and ultimately failing, falling visor flat.
“ W-WAIT! W-White that wasn’t me!! That was an imposter!”
Green quickly got up to follow White, tripping slightly, before stabilizing themselves and running after White. Orange stared at the door after getting back on their feet, visor unreadable, before entering the Skeld.
What is this? Something MIRA didn’t tell them?
Why? And how?
Orange was one of their best employees, so for this to happen without them knowing about it… Did.. Did MIRA not REALLY care for them? All of those gruesome days, and for what? To be forever tormented?
Why?
Orange always did what was asked of them, always following the rules no matter what! So why..
Why did it feel like they wasted their life on some horrible company for nothing?
Orange let in a quick inhale. They proceeded forward.
Of course, White was delirious. They died just a second ago, how are they back? It’s not possible.
Perhaps they were given a second chance by the divine ones. They DO deserve it after all. I mean, they worked their ass off… Sometimes. Maybe. Sort of.
The first stop was Storage.
White had to warn everyone! So they can get that alien out of the ship! (Oh and maybe also so that they can be called a hero and then more people will love them and- ok yeah, White was half doing it to be called a hero and gain more fame than they already have.)
Surprisingly, Black had already left, most likely because they snapped out of the daze of realizing they were back in the Skeld, despite being killed, however, Cyan didn’t seem to snap out of it a quick, standing still with their visor wide as they comprehended what the hell they were being forced into. White quickly rushed over to Cyan.
“ CYAN! Cyan, I HAVE to warn you! There’s an alien aboard and it’s green-“
White sputters, rubbing their neck gingerly. Maybe they’re expecting their head to pop off. They’re quickly shut down by the amongi they are accusing.
“ N-no! I’m no alien! Th-that was an imposter that used me as a disguise!!”
Green stammers, coming to a stop in the middle of White and Cyan, not before almost falling visor first on the ground, and right after, falling butt first on the ground while trying to steady themselves, letting out a grunt.
“ T-THATS OBVIOUSLY A LIE! You- I SAW you! You and your fleshy tentacles as they SLICED THROUGH ME!!”
White screamed out, pointing an accusing finger at Green, who held their hands out in a sign of peace, before White booked it to the next room to warn the next crewmate(s). Before Green could chase after them, Cyan stopped them, putting a hand on Green’s shoulder.
“.. The vibes.. This is a new low. Everything is so negative , EVERYONE is so negative…. The aura.. It’s practically whispering to me.”
Cyan starts to tear up as Green stares at them, their visor getting more and more concerned.
“….. It’s telling me.. No one’s trustworthy. Anyone and everyone is against you.”
Cyan muttered before bursting into tears, running off in the opposite direction of White, their wails filling storage before they were too far to be heard. Green’s gaze lingered on where Cyan used to be. What did this mean?
What did Cyan mean?
…
It was pretty obvious, actually. They just wanted to deny it.
One of them was going to turn into an alien/IS an alien, and said crewmate is going to slaughter everyone unless the entire crew stops them.
Orange strolled into storage, observing the place. The place was completely deserted as Orange could see Green bolt one way, supposedly running to catch White.
Orange looked at the storage crates. What they once thought was super important was now most definitely the reason the crew will be lead to their demise.
Orange stares at a lone piece of Ore+. They remember it. Green and Orange fell further in storage than the rest of the crew, and two Ore+ had broken, revealing… Monsters.
Orange blinked slowly at the Ore+.
They were all going to die.
Orange walked quietly where Green had went
