Chapter Text
As planned, Rumi drove the girls home so they can have a relaxing day off and they could play.
Although the drive itself wasn’t very long, it felt like a long drive when Rumi heard a whimper from the backseat, turning frantically as she made a stop at a red light.
“Who was that? What ha-,” her question was already answered as she could see Mira’s pained face. Oh no…
“It’s okay baby, we’re almost home,” Rumi reassured softly. Unfortunately, Mira shook her head immediately which caused Rumi to worry again. “No? Then what is-,” she was interrupted by a very concerning smell. She must’ve….oh she did….
In this moment, Rumi felt so screwed. She needed to find somewhere to pull over. A nearby restaurant or just somewhere with a bathroom. She quickly searched her GPS for the nearest restaurant with a bathroom. She was lucky to find one 2 minutes away.
As soon as she parked, she didn’t even care how terribly she parked as she rushed to get out a clean diaper, wipes, and a plastic bag which fit into the bag she had been so smart to bring. She rushed her little out of the car and they went into the restaurant for the bathroom.
“Hi, excuse me? Where’s your bathroom?”
“Sorry, the bathroom is for customers only.”
Rumi sighed, pinching her nose bridge. “Alright fine, is there an available table for 3?”
The hostess hummed and checked her device before nodding. “The bathroom is to your left, and I’ll get you seated.”
Rumi turned to Zoey who has been surprisingly mute but she was too fascinated with one of her new toys, she couldn’t blame her.
“Ummm, can you hold our table while we run to the bathroom real quick? It’s an emergency and we need to go now.”
Without hesitation or question, the waiter nodded and only said, “Hurry back.”
Rumi immediately rushed Mira to the bathroom with Zoey following suit because Zoey was too little to watch the table by herself and went into the stall with the changing table. She had no idea how it worked but managed to get it down.
“Want to lay down?”
Mira shook her head. Immediately no. Rumi shrugged, mumbling that it was fine.
“Okay but I’m going to need you to at least sit on the toilet,” Rumi ordered and luckily Mira obeyed before Rumi pulled down the skirt again and carefully guided her to stand up again before she took the diaper off and placed it in a plastic bag.
As Rumi was about to put on the new and clean diaper, Mira immediately grabbed onto the diaper and tried to throw it to the ground.
“Excuse me. We don’t grab,” Rumi’s tone was firm but still quiet in case anyone can hear.
“No,” was all Mira said, weakly. She was shaking her head, doing the no finger and pointing at the diaper.
“Was that what you wanted to tell me?” Rumi asked as the little one nodded. Rumi sighed in response. She was torn between respecting Mira’s wishes and making her put on a clean diaper in case she had another accident until she made the decision herself.
“Okay. Don’t make me regret this.”
As they left the stall, Zoey finally spoke. “Mimi okay?”
Rumi smiled at the maknae’s thoughtfulness. She always had such a kind heart, even when little.
“She’s okay. Her tummy hurts right now.”
“Ooohhhh…”
Back at the table, luckily the restaurant wasn’t too hectic given that it was a weekend thanks to a new opening right across the street.
The three were very quiet after Rumi had ordered them gimbap for the table and already paid for the check so they could head straight home.
The quietness between them lasted until Rumi heard sniffling. She turned her head to Zoey first. Zoey was still fascinated with her toy and Rumi was amused at how well behaved she’s been today and not causing any chaos. Next, she turned to Mira who was hunched, looking at the floor, swinging her feet and BINGO! That’s where the sniffling came from.
“Mimi…what’s wrong baby? Does it still hurt..?” Rumi asked softly, placing a hand on Mira’s shoulder. “Do we need to go back and change?”
Mira shook her head and only whispered out in a shaky voice, “Sorry…”
“Sorry? Sorry for what? Having an accident?” Rumi made sure to keep her voice as low as possible. “It’s okay, honey. It happens, especially when your tummy hurts all the time.”
Rumi started thinking it may be a good idea to go home now. The girls have eaten and everything had been paid for. She didn’t see why not.
Just then, Rumi noticed Mira leaning into Rumi’s body giving a clear sign that she was tired.
“Alright my little ones, let’s go home. For real this time and it’ll be nap time. Yeah? How does that sound?” she suggested, only causing Mira to look up and shake her head no. Shaking her head no was her favorite thing to do when little.
“Oh yes Mimi, it’s nap time. Sleep is good for you.”
Zoey also yawned, resting her head against the car window as soon as the girls got to the car. She was exhausted too and was actually looking forward to a nap.

“YOU SERIOUSLY MADE ME WEAR THAT??”
It was now the next morning. Mira was teetering between headspaces and Zoey originally woke up big. Hearing Mira yell and the pending argument caused the maknae to drop instantly. Arguing whether she got into one or witnessed one was one of her biggest drop triggers. Same with sudden loud sounds such as angry yelling.
Mira hated being in between headspaces and Zoey understood the feeling too. It was rather…uncomfortable.
Mira asked Rumi what had happened, she brought up Mira’s IBS flare up and making her wear a diaper in public.
“Rumi, I’m 24 years old. I can go to the bathroom by myself,” Mira continued after calming down from yelling.
“I know…I know…but Mira you were in pain and I’m not sure if your little self understands this is an IBS pain,” Rumi tried to reason.
During all this commotion, Zoey was luckily comforted on their couch watching TMNT on her iPad while wearing her noise cancelling headphones and drinking banana milk with her new bottle Rumi purchased the day before.
“Mira, I’m sorry,” Rumi apologized. “Maybe we should discuss some boundaries you and Zoey might have if that’s okay with you.,” she then suggested.
Mira nodded in agreement as Rumi lead her to the couch to sit next to Zoey. Rumi carefully took off Zoey’s headphones and made her put her iPad down.
“We’re all done, baby. Mommy needs you to listen real quick okay? So I need you to put on your big listening ears.”
In response, Zoey didn’t do much else other than let out a small whine before Rumi stood in front of the two and began speaking.
“Okay, so this dynamic has been….fairly new to all of us. I’ve come to a realization we haven’t discussed boundaries when…you know….when you drop. So for the diapers…Mira, I’m assuming you don’t want them but I think they might be useful for your flare ups when you’re little.”
“Wha-no! No!” Mira stood up in protest “Do you know how embarrassing that is? What we’re out in public again and someone recognizes us? I can
just imagine the headlines.”
“Then you can stay home when you’re dropped have a flare up. If I can’t stay with you and if Zoey is also dropped or also can’t stay with you, Bobby will come over and watch you.”
Mira sighed. “Look, I’ll try the diaper thing when I flare up but if I don’t change my mind about it, we’re dropping the idea,” she stated firmly.
“Okay that’s a deal. Now Zoey, you don’t need them right? At least for right now?”
Zoey shook her head no.
“Okay, now that’s settled. I also bought pacis and bottles. I see Zoey is enjoying the bottles. Mira, what are your thoughts?” Rumi asked.
“M’ willin’ to try the pacis next time I drop,” Mira replied.
She was indeed lying as she was half way to being dropped. Rumi could see it in her eyes.
“Are you sure you don’t want to try it now?” Rumi asked softly, walking over and bending over to Mira’s sitting level while cupping her cheek.
With the sensation of feeling her hand on her cheek, Mira could feel her headspace fogging even more and seconds later she could feel the pacifier in her mouth, fully succumbing to her little space.
“There we go. Nice and relax,” Rumi whispered, figuring she could continue the boundaries discussion later.
Zoey grabbed her headphones and put them back on, figuring they were done talking as she continued her show.
Seeing her two littles content, it made Rumi happy and proud of herself to suggest that the girls told her boundaries. She wanted her babies to be safe.
