Chapter Text
Flynn groaned.
How'd he find himself getting vented to?
He didn't know.
A few days after the whole 'I tripped' thing, he was sat next to Evan and Myles. This was a usual thing now.
A usual thing being; 'getting ranted to because now I hate my friend because he dared talk to someone other than me.'
He was never the best with emotions, and it was obvious. "Right... So, you left him because like.. he replaced you with that new kid ov'r there?" He asked, pointing over to the front of the room on the other side of the classroom with his thumb.
Evan nodded, seemingly pissed for the first time in his life. "Yeah! All of the sudden this new kid's arrived, he's been talking to me less!" He whined, throwing his hand up to over-exaggerate the dilemma.
Myles scoffed. He was laying on his arms that draped over the fake-wood desk. He decided to ads his two cents. "Maybe because he has more than one person to talk to no-" Though he was interrupted by a smack on the back of his head. "w-AGH!"
The force pushed his dead down onto the desk, smashing his nose. "Fuck, ow! What the hell, Flynn?!" He lifted his head up immediately to look at his brother, who was now snickering.
Flynn collected himself and grabbed Myles' arm and pulled him out of the seat, leading him to a different corner of the room. "Listen. I heard Evan has whole books written about people based on their behavior. Like bro, he has everyone's weakness written down." Myles' brow raised. "You serious?"
"YES bro," Flynn whisper-yelled, his hands going to his brother's shoulders. "If we manage to get our hands on those books, we'd be unstopable bro."
Myles weighed his options. So either be a fake friend and scam Eggchan out of his knowledge on people's weaknesses, or call his brother out on how much bullshit he just said. He decided to go for the first option.
Evan waited at his seat, glaring at William and Jaden who were in their own little world. He hated that feeling deep in his gut---that visceral feeling that he missed William. He missed their friendship.
He knew he couldn't go back. He can't forgive so easily. It hurt, you know.
Evan had always been emotional, crying at just the slight inconvenience and sobbing when he got yelled at. He hated that about himself, yet he knew it was something he just couldn't change.
Flynn and Myles arrived back at their seats. "Yo, Ev," Flynn called out, "you trynna, like.. I dunno, get revenge on William?" He asked, a grin on his face.
Myles caught what his brother was doing and spoke as well, "Yeaaah.. That'd be sick. You should let us help!" He said, leaning closer to Evan with a dumb smirk.
Evan stared at the two, uncertain. "Really? I should?" He asked, nervously glancing over at William and Jaden.
Gods, he was getting peer pressured.
Flynn gave a fake smile. "Yeah! If you give us some info about William.. I c-" Myles attacked his side with his elbow and glared at his brother. "WE." He corrected. "We can make his life a bit harder.." Flynn continued.
The two watched as Evan weighed his options before finally giving up a small "Sure..?" Though, he was anything but sure about this. "His weak spot is usually when someone is better than him. He gets pretty riled up when someone beats him in anything."
That's all they needed.
That is all they needed to make William's life a living hell.
Ever since they had gotten Evan for info about William's weaknesses, they had been practically torturing him.
Every day for months, William was reminded of how bad he was, of how useless he was.
Evan didn't like anything that was happening, but he didn't have a say in anything.
He had noticed how William was less talkative by the day, growing quieter and shyer each time he had came to school.
Evan was kind of regretting turning his back on his best friend, but he was too far in this mess now. He couldn't turn back.
Not anymore.
