Chapter Text

Branzy felt… weird, as he stirred awake. Like the air was think around him.

He didn’t even remember going to bed- oh right the beach, and… he must’ve been dreaming.

One of those weird sick dreams probably.

Then he opened his mouth slightly- water filled it.

His eyes shot open and he tried to sit up right, but an odd pressure on his chest prevented him from doing so.

Everything was blurry, the only thing he could make out were vague shapes and colors.

Water kept filling his mouth, he couldn’t breathe- he… shouldn’t be able to breathe. Why could he breathe?

Was he breathing?

It felt weird.

“You’re ok… you don’t need to panic.” A voice whispered.

He knew that voice- who’s voice…

“Clown?” Branzy asked, his mouth filling with water and sliding down his throat- but didn’t seem to reach his lungs.

“Mhm… just breathe normally. It feels weird but you can.” Clown replied.

Soon Branzy realized the pressure on his chest had to be Clown- and that he was under water, and he definitely hadn’t been dreaming.

Clowns face was nuzzled into Branzy’s neck, his arms clinging around his body.

It took a while but eventually Branzy’s sight cleared up.

Once it did he could see his kidnapper was smirking and looking more then a bit pleased with himself.

“Do you not have a little bit shame?” Branzy glared, his eyes scanning Clowns long shark like tail that was currently curled around Branzy’s legs.

“No.” Clown replied simply, raising his head to look into Branzy’s eyes.

For once Clown wasn’t wearing his mask, letting Branzy get a full look at his face and…

Wow.

The description of sirens being ‘genetically designed to be as beautiful as possible’ was an understatement.

Then Clown smiled. Letting all his terrifyingly sharp teeth go on display, and suddenly Branzy was reminded that he currently had a top predator curled up on his lap. That very well could eat him.

“Your eyes are pretty.” Clown eventually said, one of his claws coming up and twirling a strand of Branzy’s hair.

“Uh huh…”

Clown was finally off Branzy enough so that he could sit up properly, and when he did he realized his legs were bound together with seaweed and some gold chain- and felt really, really weird.

It wasn’t until he really looked at the wrapping that it fully dawned on him why and how he was breathing underwater.

He really should’ve realized sooner but his head currently felt like wading through a bog.

His hand shot up and brushed against his neck, a cold shudder ran down his spine and his eyes went wide as he felt what had to be gills on his skin.

“Clown… why- why did you turn me into a mermaid..?” Branzy asked, scooting away from Clown slightly.

The siren began to circle him, letting Branzy get a good look at his shark like tail.

It was giant- nearly twice as long as Clown’s front half.

The tail curled around him as Clown finished his circling and rested his head on Brandy’s chest once again.

“Because you’re mine.” Clown eventually said.

“Yours..?”

“Mine.”

Clown snuggled in closer when he said the last word, clinging to Branzy almost like a child.

It made Branzy giggle slightly- it helped that Clown was actually quite warm.

“And I don’t have a say in that matter?” Branzy asked, his hand running through Clown’s inky black hair.

“No.” Clown replied, leaning into Branzy’s touch.

Branzy giggled at the blatant admission.

“The charm fog is fading from your head isn’t it?” Clown laughed, looking up into Branzy’s eyes.

“Mhm… maybe.” Branzy tugged slightly at Clowns hair- it was obvious at that point the siren had no intention of attacking, and well, if he was going to drag Branzy down to the bottom of the ocean or whatever…

Clown let out a half squeak half growl when his hair was tugged that made Branzy laugh.

The little grumbling Clown did afterwards only fueled his laughter.

“So… if I’m yours, does that make you mine?” Branzy asked.

Clowns tail, still wrapped around Branzy, started swishing back and forth like an excited puppy.

“Course.” Clown replied, he finally picked his head up from Branzy’s chest, only for the sirens lips to collide with his own.

Clown’s lips were surprisingly soft, it contrasted with how… ‘greedy’ the siren was with the kiss. Though considering where Branzy was at the moment that really shouldn’t be surprising.

He also tasted of blood.

“Why do you taste like blood?” Branzy asked when Clown eventually pulled away.

“Because blood stains my mouth.” Clown shrugged.

“I’ve seen you eat siren meat… well, I haven’t seen you but-” Branzy pondered.

“And I’ve eaten human. I see no difference.” Clown explained. “Don’t pretend you wouldn’t of eaten your own kind if they attacked you and it was ‘socially acceptable.’” He laughed.

Branzy averted his gaze, that thought had crossed his mind a few times across his lifetime.

“Mhm… your so pretty Branzy.” Clown mumbled.

Branzy continued to play with Clown’s hair as he scanned the room he was in- it seemed to be some kind of sunken ship with coral growing on some of the walls, and a whole lot of metal chains and jewels.

There were some fishnets hung on the walls with different harpoons, hooks, and other fishing weapons tangled in them.

Around the room was furniture carved from stone- a good chunk of which was made from marble. Gold, silver, and copper chains hung down from the ceiling, various pieces a jewelry was hanging from them.

Most of which prominently featured precious stones like diamonds or rubies.

Lots of teeth as well.

Lots of normal weapons to.

“Do you like the decor? I dragged up all my shiny stuff for you.” Clown explained.

“I mean…” Branzy ran a hand down Clowns tail. “Your scales are shinier.”

“Not compared to a mermaids.” Clown chucked.

“Uh huh- so when exactly does this wrapper come off then?” Branzy asked.

“When your tail stops tingling. It can usually take a few days.”

“Oh great, so I get kidnapped by an overly clingy siren and I can’t even move.” Branzy complained.

“You can- you just gotta be careful not to split your tail, here, I’ll help.”

Clown offered his cawed hands and Branzy took them. His legs- tail, tinged as Clown pulled him up.

“So, humans have a stroke that’s just swimming with your legs together, yes? Just do that one- gently.” Clown explained, slowly swimming backwards.

Adjusting took a while.

Adjusting to having a shiny tail that had a gradient from a dark blue to a bright violet.

Adjusting to living underwater.

Adjusting to his very murderous mate who for his birthday kidnapped Rek and Chief and dragged them under water- much to their annoyance, or rage.

Lots of adjusting.

But hey, it was nice to look forward to cuddling every night- and a good chunk of the day.

Notes:

And that’s a wrap! I like abruptly ending my fic’s with fluff so enjoy!

I’m going to be doing a handful of one shot ideas before my next long fic lol- need a bit of a break 😅
This fic was genuinely supposed to be short.

Notes:

So- the time period this is set in is like- late 70’s to early 80’s so they have phones and stuff- but the internet isn’t the most common thing in the world, especially on the small fairly isolated island Branzy’s on.

To my previous readers, say it with me, the author is dyslexic!
