Big Friendly Neighborhood of Friends

Chapter 6

Summary:

The finale of Kris' guided meet the guys tour. The brain is tired of this and needs a new guy to play with. So after this no more Kris for a while.

Notes:

I realized that it kinda looks like Beheaded is the main character. Hes not really, i just have a lot of fun writing him. Also both Drifter and Kris are quiet characters so i toned down the crazy for them. Things will pick up once i decide who the next chapter is about!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The house they approached was neat and taken care of. A stark contrast to the one before. It was also kind of bland. This house had been occupied for a while, yet unlike the other houses on the street with long term residents, it had no personality whatsoever. It was also eerily quiet.

Kris knocked on the door and waited a couple seconds before it swung open. It was opened by a middle-aged woman with dark hair that had grey streaks in it. She looked exhausted. She looked the trio over and straightened up, plastering a smile on her face.

“How can I help you today?”

Kris was a little disturbed by her strange demeanor and customer-service-like speech. Frisk offered her a flyer. She took it and looked it over. Frisk took the opportunity to look behind her. The house was actually full of people which was surprising for how quiet it was.

“Thank you for considering us, but don't expect us to attend,”

She closed the door in their faces. Rude. The next two houses were empty. Kris stuck flyers in their mailboxes. They skipped the one after that since Frisk had already delivered a flyer to them. The next house was home to the neighborhood's most recent residents. Susie was the one to knock. The response was immediate.

“I’LL GET IT,”

Followed by a crash and someone else shouting,

“OH, NO YOU WON’T,”

Cue maniacal laughter. And a loud thud. The window next to the front door was thrown open and someone jumped straight through it. He stood up and dusted himself off, placing his hands on his hips like he had just done something impressive. His most notable feature was that he didnt have a head.

“How can I help you fine peop-”

The door slammed open and an imposingly tall man with blue skin and a hood shadowing his face stomped out and grabbed the headless man's arm.

“Wha- NO. I ANSWERED THE DOOR FIRST. I WOULD BITE YOU IF I HAD A GODDAMN MOUTH,”

“I’m sure you would. And you better watch your language Beheaded, we are in the presence of children,”

“I did NOT swear. Goddamn is NOT a bad word. If I wanted to swear at you I would have said that I would bite you if I had a fucking mouth,”

Frisk gasped and covered their ears.

“You have upset the young child! Go back inside!”

“No!”

“NOW,”

“NO!”

“I will give you until the count of three. Oneeee. Twooooooooo…”

“OK FINE I’LL GO INSIDE,”

Apparently that trick still worked on adults. (Authors note: not really, beheaded just has the mentality and maturity of a 6 year old. Most of the time. Why? Because i said so, dont question me :P). The headless guy threw up his hands and stalked back indoors. A muted conversation could be heard.

(“What did you do this time?”)

(“I robbed a child of their innocence,”)

(“Sounds about right,”)

The tall blue man was so fucking done with his goo-childs bullshit. Get this man a vacation. He turned back to his visitors, with a forced smile on his hidden face.

“What can I do for you this morning?”

Susie stifled a grin.

“What was that,”

Kris stepped on her foot. She pushed them lightly in retaliation. Kris rolled their eyes.

“Ignore her, she can be super nosy. Here, my mom is inviting everyone to this thing,”

Kris handed him the flyer, and he looked it over.

“Very well. Our attendance is probable but not guaranteed,”

“Great. Have a good day or whatever,”

Kris, Susie, and Frisk left the house. The next one was skipped. It was empty. Same old story. The next house was actually occupied! (Authors note: theres so many empty houses because i need room for future people if i decide they are worthy of my autism. Please no one make a map of this street. Its fine for now but it will inevitably not make sense soon enough). The people here had lived here even longer than Kris’ family. They were nice. Just a mom and her kid. Frisk and the kid hung out sometimes. They were both vaguely genderless children of indeterminate age. And they went to the same school.

Kris knocked on the door, which was opened by said child. They grinned and Frisk gave them a paper.

“Oh! This looks fun. I’ll have to tell my mom. I’m sure we can come though. My mom can make her amazing pancakes!”

Kris spoke up.

“I dont think pancakes are barbeque food,”

“Pancakes are everywhere food. I once carried around a slice of pie for 2 weeks straight and when I finally ate it, it was still delicious,”

(Authors note: I really wanted Frisk to say fucking delicous but i will not rob a child of indeterminate age of their innocence. Unlike someone. Also, let me know if my authors notes are annoying. I think im going to add more but i wanna make sure it doesnt bother anyone”.

Susie secretly desperately wanted to try this 2 week old pie that was apparently still amazing. She also wanted to try this kid's moms amazing pancakes. Kris shrugged.

“Bring whatever you want. It’ll be fine, see you then I guess,”

They moved on. Only a few more houses before Kris could go home and drag Susie into playing a violent video game they weren't supposed to have. There was already a man in front of the first house. He was dressed formally with a white button up shirt and dress slacks. He was muttering angrily to himself.

Kris walked up and offered a flyer to the man.

“Hey, my mom is hosting this barbeque thing if you want to come,”

He took the flyer and looked at it.

“Can’t go. I've got work,”

He tilted his head, almost like he was listening to something.

“Nevermind, I’ll be there. And I… won’t be bringing meatloaf. Can I bring a friend?... I wasnt talking about you,”

“Uh, yeah you can bring a friend if you want,”

Yet another weirdo. Great. At this point weird was the new normal. If they had met someone normal Kris would probably be even more shocked than another crazy person.

(Alright I’m ending this bit here. Mostly because I’m tired of writing Kris POV and wanna do something else, but also because I wanna leave a couple more people as mysteries. I’ve got a lot of ideas and I’m bored of this so time for a new POV.)

Notes:

Ok so the first house they visit in this chapter is Drifters house in case that wasnt clear.
Yayy, Niko's here. I know i basically said they were here first but this does NOT take place in Niko's home world. This takes place in a completely made of world mostly based on the real world but minus complicated real world stuff and plus fun fictional characters.
I'm not gonna add the game that the last guy is from for a little while to see if anyone can guess it in the comments!

Potential Games: Legend of Zelda (prob BOTW/TOTK), Look Outside, Pressure(Roblox), Abyssal(Roblox), Cult of the Lamb (suggested by: Catin_Lord), Stanley Parable, Untitled Goose Game, Slay the Princess (suggested by Suszilla29), Cuphead, Tunic, Genshin Impact (literally just my 2 fav characters, everyone else will be ignored), Carrion (suggested by Suszilla29), Silksong, Earthbound, One Shot.

Notes:

So far I am considering adding: Legend of Zelda (prob BOTW/TOTK), Look Outside, Rain World, various Roblox games, etc.
