dazai knew this would happen , he predicted it like always but that doesn't mean that it will hurt any less .
it has to hurt seeing your best friend, crush only friend talk to you less and lesser as the days pass, dazai knew he wasn't likeable or friendly or normal like all the brats-uh kids but chuuya must have somewhat tolerate him right? because why would he even look in his direction otherwise but now that he thinks it through it was just dumb luck that they met . he knew that chibi talked less due to all his friends and sports but was it that hard to make time for him?
turns out it wasn't otherwise his new friend sasaki wouldn't even be here over the last month he and sasaki has grown closer and closer and he genuinely appreciates her -wow that's corny if chibi heard it he would scowl and kick him in the shin , dazai misses him

"hey, sasaki is it bad to buy food from sketchy people on Facebook marketplace for 10 yen?" he asked in a calm-calmish tone "oh no of course not and while you are at it take some candies from a sketchy man too" sasaki replied looking smug 'oh you are no fun boooo' he replied
dazai enjoyed sasaki way too much she was so fun and doesn't kick him or punch him till he can see the stars like a certain chibi he know…s? does he because he hasn't heard from him in over a month .

this year was busier than what he had expected , turns out being the captain of martial arts club and a new member in the flags-a basketball team of the most talented children- while being 5'3 is not easy but hey he is only 16 he is still growing dazai would probably laugh at him when he heard him say this , he misses that waste of bandages but he really doesn't have time , with he has to give his best in basketball practice to prove the fuckers who think he sucks just because he isn't that tall- vertically long and he also has to hung with flags at a weird abandoned pool hall which they called 'old world' because they say its team bonding or some shit, whatever he doesn't care he is way too tired for their bullshit

"albatross if this is another yo mama joke i swear to arahabki that i am gonna personally go and kidnap all the ferrets you bet on" chuuya spoke in a voice which made it clear that he isn't bullshiting

yes they were assholes but chuuya seemed to like them more and more day by day

chuuya was way to busy the last month but he really wanted to spend time with his crush best friend and chuuya decided to get a day off from his captain duties and from basketball practice so he and dazai could hang out ohh they could go to the arcade they loved so much , he opened his phone and clicked on the pinned contact

"is chuuya looking up gifts for his little crush" albatross spoke looking way too smug

"waittt are you gonna make him matching keychains! who would have thought that the legendary youngest captain of the martial arts club and the youngest member of the amazing super cool flags is such a sap" tross said being way too hapyy by finding potential blackmail material

chuuya looked ready to commit arson with the way he was looking he was way too proud of himself for finding out that dazai has a sweet tooth and has spent god knows how much time trying to come up with different sweets to make at the end he decided on

Dazai liked sasaki and no not in a romantic way only in a friendly way he really likes her , she is sweet,nice, caring but she for some reason is really adamant on the fact that dazai is madly in love with chuuya now that is pure bullshit -in the language of chuuya himself-
But dazai really wants to spend time with chuuya but he doesn't want to annoy him by seeming to clingy but is too bad to want some attention from your first crush.…..

“Sooooo, what are you doing for your birthday?” sasaki said while appearing from what seems like thin air
“Dying, hopefully but how the fuck did you know about my birthday” dazai asked cause he is damn sure nobody -except chuuya- knows about his birthday
“a magician never reveals her secrets ” she spoke and day by day dazai grows to hate the smugness in her voice even more
"wasn't it 'his secrets'?” he replied hiding a smirk
“wow sexist.Anyway, are you inviting Chuuya?” she spoke with a mischievous glint in her eyes
“...Why do you ask ?” he asked cautiously
“Because you look at him like he personally invented the concept of suicide?” she had the guts to ask!!
“I have no idea what you're talking about.” he replied calmly [as calmly as he could]
“You literally watched him eat his lunch for ten minutes yesterday.” she argued back
“I was observing his table manners.” he replied because well two can play this game
“He was eating fries.”she again argued back
“Terrible table manners the small chibi has way too much of a brute for such a small body” dazai almost said beautiful body but he doesn't wants to give her more blackmail material
“OH GOD You're such a sapp” she said faking a scowl while trying - and failing miserably- to hide a smirk
“And yet you continue to associate with me. How unfortunate.” he said because well just because he can
“You know, you could just tell him you want him there.” she asked suddenly serious
“And you could just stop talking.” he said with a hint of ice in his tone as he spoke
“Fine. I'll tell him you don't want him there.” she spoke trying to appear serious - but dazai knew her and knew she will do that

“OH????? that's a strong reaction” she had the audacity to snort
“I hope you trip and fall on your face in front of your -soon to be husband- boyfriend” he argued or well tried to argue
“I hope Chuuya kisses you on your birthday.”she said smirking

“OH MY GOD, YOU'RE BLUSHING.” she said holding back a laugh
“I'm experiencing a medical emergency. Please leave.”he tried to form words

dazai got dressed in a purple turtleneck - yes he knows it's summer but sasaki said he looked good in turtleneck so gotta look good for the chibi i mean the occasion yay being born yayy- with a pair of white slacks he tried to make his hair look good too while sasaki tried she spent more than a hour to get him ready god knows how chibi gets ready everyday and looks so majestic and those hair oh god-
before he could even say something he saw sasaki rushing out of the bathroom with what looked like tears in her eyes and before he could say something she started crying loudly dazai didn't knew what to do so he got on her level and sat beside her asking"hey , what's wrong tell me don't cry , did i do something?"
"oh god no you didn't do something i-i was just play fighting with my boyfriend when i saw - i saw another girl in his room and i -i panicked and broke up with him he couldn't do this i loved him he must have loved me too and i- " sasaki started panicking god dazai can't even understand what she is saying
"hey hey calm down don't worry here drink some water" dazai said while getting a bottle of cold fresh water from the fridge
"and be calm take some deep breaths" he spoke trying his bets to calm her down even though he knew nothing of such "now tell me what happened"
“I saw a girl at his house, Osamu.” sasaki spoke after a few minutes
“A girl? wasn't he supposed to be alone at home for a few days since his family is overseas?” dazai asked cause he knew how madly in love the couple was
“Don't say it like that.” she said gaining her composure
“Like what?” he asked though knowing what she will say next
“Like I'm being ridiculous.” she said angrily but with a hint of something that makes dazai want to hug her but honestly chuuya will be better at this
“I haven't said you're ridiculous.”he said trying to be the mature one here
“You were thinking it.” she bited back
“I'm always thinking many things. Most of them are considerably more interesting than your accusations, but come one be honest he would never do that ” he tried to be reasonable
“You're a horrible person.” she said, well i guess she doesn't wants to be reasonable
“And yet, here you are, telling me about your love life.”he said now checking the waters
“Because you're the only person I know who might actually help me get revenge.” wow the water is perfect again ok perfect is a stretch
“Ah. Finally, a conversation with purpose.” he said smugly,“You really thought he was cheating?”
“He told me his family was overseas. He told me he'd be alone. Then I found a girl in his house, and he acted like I was insane for asking who she was.” she said gaining her composure
“Did you let him explain?” he asked
“He kept saying it wasn't what I thought.” she replied getting irritated
“That isn't an explanation.” he retorted
“Exactly!” she yelled
“Although, to be fair, neither is immediately breaking up with someone.” he said again
“OSAMU.” she yelled again god his eardrums
“Fine, fine. I'll stop.” he said "but,Do you miss him?”
Sasaki goes quiet.
“I hate that I do.” she said after a few minutes
“ well isn't that inconvenient.” he said trying to ease the tension in the air
“I hate you.” she said in a not so convincing amused tone
“You keep saying that to people you seem rather attached to.” he said playfully
: “And you keep making observations nobody asked for.” she bited back
“It's a gift.” he argued
“It's a disease.” she said oddly amused
For a moment, they both laugh. Then Sasaki's smile disappears again carrying a worried expression
“What if he really did cheat? What if I'm just making excuses because I want him back?” she said again being serious and worried god dazai missed the sasaki who sings songs about tampons
Dazai turns his head towards her.
“Then you find out the truth.” he said using his super genius brain
“And if the truth is that I'm an idiot?” she asked cautiously
“Then you'll be an idiot who finally knows the truth.” he said with only truth in his voice
“You're terrible at comforting people.” she said with a snort
“I never claimed otherwise.” he said because that was the truth right? it felt weird saying the truth
She nudges his shoulder playfully before speaking
“I want him to regret it.” she spoke with a clear voice
“Regret what? Losing you?” he asked knowing that yes it is exactly what she wants
“Yes.” she said like he didn't knew that already
“Then we make him jealous.” he said with a dumb smirk just like the chibi
“How?” she asked
“We need a convincing rumor. Something dramatic. Something that makes him question every decision he's ever made.”Dazai's grin returns as he spoke
“Like what?”she asked again
“A fake confession.” he said fully smirking
“From who you?” she asked very confused
“Why do you sound so cautious? I'm devastatingly attractive.” he said while throwing a couple poses
“You're devastatingly annoying.” she said snarking
“ who said Those qualities can't co-exist ”
Sasaki laughs properly this time.
“You'd really do that for me?” she asked with a small smile
Dazai pauses. His expression softens, just a little.
“Of course. You're my friend, aren't you?”he said like he was questioning it because well he was
Sasaki smiles at him, unaware of the brief, distant look that crosses his face.
“Thank you, Osamu.” she said smiling
“Don't thank me yet. We haven't decided how to execute the plan.” he said
“You make it sound like we're committing a crime.” she answered back
“Sasaki, my dear, we are about to commit the greatest crime known to humanity i am gonna say how exactly i am gonna confess , try not to fall in love ” he said way too smugly
“on no such a hard task ” she said playfully
"sasaki my dear would you be my girlfriend" he said smirking but suddenly stopped when he heard a loud noise from the door when he turned he saw

god who knew his own words were gonna bit him in the ass later
first- he had to bake but when he was baking the cookies the fucking oven started to stop working so he had to go over to tross's house to cook and that asshole wouldn't stop smirking at him and calling him a fucking MALEWIFE
then when he was putting the French pastries in the fridge to cool the light decided to go well fuck his day he had to with melted pastries yay and he really can't believe his shitty luck
AND, when he finally got ready he wore a deep wine red tank top with a short overcoat as there are way too much fucking creeps around here but chuuya can take them all at once , but since ane-San doesn't look too convinced he wore the overcoat with a pair of long black ripped jeans with a silver chain , he also wore some silver cross earings and black boots just when he was ready to leave he had to fulfill his duties as the captain of martial arts club or something , but chuuya had said that he owes them one
it's the afternoon now, his clothes are dirty, his makeup got messy god he will have to redo his makeup, fix his hair and clean his fit again ughhh
-evening-
is dazai gonna hate him , he is so late will dazai even let him in god the desserts are stimulating him the cold French pastries and the hot brownies and choco chips cookies - the door to his house is already opened with a pair of female shoes? but isn't his father a single father and even though if his father has a date the father and his little sister were gonna be out today well whatever he is gonna go in
"sasaki my dear would you be my girlfriend" he heard dazai spoke and felt his entire world break , he even drooped the keychain box from his hands
when dazai turned he quickly turned his head away feeling the tears forming in his own eyes he quickly said
" uh sorry to disturb your evening , these are just a few silly things i made for you don't mind me"
he said while quickly running from there he could hear dazai say something but he really couldn't care less right now
