Taehyung can’t believe himself. What has ~LIFE~ made him do? Why did he agree to it?
Taehyung finds himself standing outside Jungkook’s dorm room ten minutes after he left Seokjin’s place. He hears muffled music from inside so he knocks louder than his usual door knocking volume.
A wide-eyed Jungkook appeared behind the door.
“Uhm, I have your delivery from Jin-hyung,” Taehyung says, lifting the bags with food inside.
“Why didn’t Jin-hyung deliver it?” Jungkook asks, confused. Taehyung doesn’t have the time to answer as Jungkook then says, “Oh, wait. Before you tell me, would you like to come in? Your arms might be already tired from carrying the food.”
Taehyung follows Jungkook inside. He finally recognizes Birdy’s amazing voice ringing through the whole place. He places the bags on the table.
“Actually, I asked Jin-hyung to let me take your dinner. And, sorry to intrude, but I ordered the same thing as you did because I got hungry.”
Jungkook seems more confused but sits across Taehyung. “Okay. I’ll let Jin-hyung know you’re here. I should say sorry for shouting at him a while ago.”
Taehyung looks surprised. “I should say sorry too. It happened because of me.” Jungkook notices the questioning look in Taehyung’s face and recounts the scenario with Seokjin a while ago.
Jungkook sends a text to Seokjin then picks up his noodles package to open it. He reads the pun for today,
"what did the blanket say as it fell off the bed? OH SHEET", and laughs a little.
Taehyung joins in laughter as he reads the pun too. “Hyung really loves to makes these kind of puns.”
Jungkook nods and starts to take the first bite, looking at Taehyung and urging him to do the same. They eat in silence except for the slurps of eating noodles, the crunches of the pork, and Tori Kelly’s “Paper Hearts”.
Taehyung decides to break the silence, “Again, I’m really sorry for Jimin.” He adds in laughter to hide his nervousness. “And actually he wasn’t joking.” Then, Taehyung drinks the full glass of soda, looking everywhere except at Jungkook.
Jungkook coughs a little and drinks some. “Really? Hmm, in Psych101, you sent me a note, right?”
Taehyung is caught off guard by the sudden change of topic. “Yeah. How did you know?”
“Your Instagram story is the only story I’ve ever viewed. And I sent you a note too.”
Jungkook blushes and buries his face behind the mountain of sweet and sour pork.
“What? Why? I mean, not that you can’t view it. I’d love for you to view it. What note?” Taehyung starts rambling, remembering now that Jungkook seems to be viewing his stories more after that note-giving activity. Jungkook looks up and laugh at Taehyung’s panicky expression.
“The 8 Mile reference one. With a smiley.”
Taehyung tries to remember the note and he succeeds. That’s why it was familiar to him. Those are lyrics from Eminem’s Lose Yourself. “You even changed the word ‘mine’ to yours to encourage me. Wow,” is all Taehyung says.
Jungkook gives Taehyung his goofy smile and says, “I like you too, Taehyung.”
And then enters the production staff of ~LIFE~, Taehyung’s active imagination offers. But there’s no staff and Jungkook’s there, waiting for some kind of reaction. He blinks, trying to gauge if the words meant what he thinks the words meant. “Like “like” as in you have a crush on me too?”
“You’re making me embarrassed,” Jungkook says as his cheeks turn a shade of red. “Yes, I have a crush on you too. Actually, I kind of freaked out when you told me last night that you were joking about having a crush on me. I even told Jin-hyung, Namjoon-hyung, and Hoseok-hyung about it. They just sent me laughing emojis all through the night.”

As Taehyung is lying awake in bed, he replays the kiss on the cheek Jungkook gave him after they talked more and played Overwatch for about three hours.
What are the odds of someone you like liking you back? He thinks as everything seems so imaginary.
But it is real, judging by the hearts drawn on Jungkook’s Instagram story, a picture of the two of them with headphones on when they were playing Overwatch. Taehyung believes that he put up a good fight against Jungkook even though he got to admit that the younger has some killer moves.
Taehyung isn’t fond of the default heart emoji on Instagram. So, he replies to Jungkook’s story with:

As ~LIFE~, his life would have it, Jungkook seems to be on the same page as him as he reads Jungkook’s reply.
