Chapter Text
"Oh my god, I can’t take him out like this.”
“Guk you have to. Tae, Hoseok and Jimin are in Japan. Me and Yoongi have to meet with PD-nim… You’re the only one left and we have to go food shopping. You’re the only one who can go. He’ll love it. Go to the underground market down the road. They don’t know who we are there, It’s just full of old people.”
Namjoon spoke as he shrugged his jacket on, pressing a soft kiss to Seokjins head. “I’ll see you later. You be a good boy for Jeongguk!” He left the dorm, leaving Jeongguk with the little. Great. “Hyung! What are we doing today?! We have to go shopping right?” Seokjin jumped up, placing his plushies on the couch and placing a blanket over them, giving each of them a kiss on the head. Jeongguk watched in fond amusement, nodding slightly. “Yeah. You’ll have to wear big boy clothes though. And be a really good boy, okay?”
Seokjin rushed off to get changed, Jeongguk sighing softly as he packed a small bag with his wallet and a game boy to keep Seokjin occupied if need be. God, it’s like being a father to an overgrown kid. “Come on Seokjin! Let’s go!” He yelled to the boy, surprised when Seokjin came walking over to the Maknae in ripped jeans, a simple but cute cat shirt and a cap to cover his face from the sun. “Ah, Jinnie...Are you still...You know...” “Not really...I know I have to behave here so I tried to repress the urge...I’m sorry if I slip in public.” “Jin-Hyung...You know I won’t care if you do. We’re going to place that probably won’t recognise us very well. A lot of Idols shop there to remain anonymous. Now come on, let's get going!”
–
“Please?”
“No.”
“It’s not even that expensive it’s literally $5 please.”
“Why do you want it? You have a ton of plushies at home, Seokjin. Now, come and help me find the milk.”
Seokjin narrowed his eyes and placed the stuffed animal back in the shopping cart. The animal was cheap and was missing an eye which is why it was in the reduced section. Seokjin had wanted him because he was different and wanted to look after him, but Jeongguk was adamant he wouldn’t buy it. Why won’t he just get it for me? It’s so cheap…
“Jeongguk I...I think you’re being really mean...I just want to take him home because he’s special.”
Jeongguk noticed the way Seokjins voice sounded a little smaller and whinier, and he turned around with a raised eyebrow. “Jinnie...Look, put him in the cart then. But you’re getting nothing else and that’s a promise!” Seokjin grinned and put the tiger in the cart, showing his appreciation by giving Jeongguks hand a soft squeeze, before he ran off to find the chocolate aisle.
Jeongguk was fucked.
--
“So...How much of this was actually for us?”
“God damn it I know I fucked up! I just couldn’t resist him...”
Seokjin was sat next to a huge stuffed unicorn, leaning against it as his tiger rested on his chest. He was busy watching a cartoon from a new DVD, chewing happily on one of the many sweets Jeongguk bought him. All the boys had returned home now and were amused to see dark circles rimming Jeongguks eyes as the My Little Pony theme played for the nth time that day.
“You look like you’ve aged twenty years.”
“I wish your plane crashed in Japan.”
Taehyung snorted and went to join Seokjin on the floor, chatting with him happily about what he was watching. Namjoon and Hoseok simply went to sorting out what little Jeongguk actually bought for the rest of the boys and to put perishables away in the fridge or freezer. “Hey, Guk. Since you and Jinnie had such a good time today, go put him to bed. It’s nearly 9 already.” Yoongi called from his place on the couch, watching as Seokjin yawned and rubbed his eyes, shaking his head half-heartedly. “Don’t wanna go sleep!”
Brilliant.
“Seokjinnie...Come on. Come and get changed at least-” “No!” Seokjin yelled, crossing his arms in front of his chest with a huff. Little shit. Jeongguk frowned, pointing to Seokjins new tiger plushie. “You’re being mean. Tiger needs to sleep because he’s sick and can’t see well. He wants to sleep with you but you won’t go.” Jeongguk watched as Seokjins face immediately softened and the boy picked up his tiger, getting up off of the floor and holding onto Jeongguks hand.
“I’ll sleep now~”
“Good boy. We can put your Unicorn in here too to watch over you and protect you!”
“Will you sleep with me?”
Jeongguk froze. Seokjin often preferred to sleep alone in little space, unless he had a nightmare, so this was new. “I...Of course, I will. Do you want to sleep in my room tonight?” Seokjin nodded, so Jeongguk got Seokjin some pyjamas out of the drawer and led him back out into the front room. “Hey, Jinnie is having a sleepover in my room so I’ll sleep with him too. Good night guys.” Jeongguk got collective waves, Seokjin sleepily waving too and blowing kisses before following Jeongguk to his room, grinning.
“I’ve not slept in here much...I like it~”
Seokjin began stripping his dirty clothes off, replacing them with his superhero pyjamas whilst Jeongguk settled for switching his pants and leaving himself shirtless. He figured he would be warm with Seokjin the human heater in his bed. “Can Tiger stay here?” Seokjin asked, placing his tiger next to a plushie that Seokjin had gifted Jeongguk a while ago for Christmas. Jeongguk nodded, smiling at the boy's actions before patting his bed. “Get in and I’ll switch the light off, angel.”
“Angel? I’m not an angel. They’re pretty and they can fly...And have wings...”
Jeongguk chuckled, turning the light off and leaving a night light on for Seokjin, getting in bed beside the boy. “You’re an angel. You are pretty. You don’t need wings to fly high Seokjin, You just need to believe in yourself.” Jeongguk hummed, closing his eyes as he felt an arm cross over his chest and a leg be thrown over his body. Yup. Definitely gonna wake up and feel like I’m in a volcano. “You must be an angel too then because you believe in everybody. I love you, Jeonggukkie! Sleep well~”
Jeongguk felt his heart skip a beat at the male's words, and the light kiss pressed to his cheek only served to make him pull the boy closer, holding him throughout the night.
