Chapter Text

Seokjin cursed at himself.

It had been exactly three months since his last phone call to you. When he thought he had finally taught himself to forget about you, you made yourself known once more. The worst thing was that he allowed you back into his life, into his heart.

You had sent him a letter. He stared at your penmanship, reading his name and address over and over and over. The delivery guy came with his dinner and he told himself he would open your letter as soon as he’s eaten.

He opened the envelope carefully, but the contents come spilling out. The letter you wrote to him was long, a thick stack even when you had folded it to fit into the envelope. Several pictures fluttered to the ground around your letter.

Seokjin couldn’t resist sneaking a peek at you in an evening gown. His mouth hung open when he looked at the first picture. You–

He cut off his own train of thought and the likely conclusion he would arrive at. He gathered the scattered pictures and neatly arranged them in a stack. A familiar ache in his throat prompted him to turn away to discard a stained gerbera by the side, before he turned his attention back to what was in his hands.

Seokjin nearly dropped the pictures when he saw the third one. It was a beautiful picture. Of course it was; you were in it, smiling brightly and dressed like a goddess visiting her lowly human creations. The only thing that threw him off was the other woman in the picture, in a nicely tailored three-piece suit and a possessive arm around your waist and her lips leaving a light pink stain on your cheek.
