I don’t know if anyone is even reading these stories anymore seeing as they’re several years old by now, but I shared so much of myself in them and through the notes and interacting with commenters, that I thought maybe I would share a little update with anyone who may see it on how I am doing, even if that may seem slightly self-centered.
I am doing so much better than I was at the time of writing this. I am starting my sophomore year of college, and while it has been difficult, it has also been very good for me. I’m keeping busy and making more friends. I’ve lost some people I was very close to, but I have a small and high quality circle of friends now that I am so grateful for, and a boyfriend that I absolutely adore. We’ve been dating almost a year now, and things are going very well. My mental health still is and possibly always will be a struggle, but I am learning how to handle it much better than I was before, with help from my friends/boyfriend but more importantly on my own when necessary as well. I can say that overall I am doing well and that I am happy.
As for my future with writing, I’ve been writing poetry and such since I was much younger, and I am continuing to do that. I’m not sure about my future with fan fiction, as it came from a dark place in my life and a need for escapism, but I would still like to pick it up again someday with a healthier mindset. That remains to be seen.
