Chapter Text

“Well, congrats guys,” Clarke announced loudly as she threw the door open to the apartment. “You’ve finally done it. You finally broke my girlfriend.”

Clarke fought to keep the smile off of her face as Octavia and Raven both cheered from where they were sitting on their couch, watching tv. She scoffed, before plopping down between them, grabbing a handful of popcorn from the bowl on Raven’s lap.

Raven rested her legs on top of Clarke’s lap as the two of them started to speak over one another.

“Clarke.”

“Griff.”

“Clarkeyyyy.”

“Claaaaarke.”

Finally the smile she had been trying so hard to fight appeared when Octavia poked her in the side, and she laughed along with her friends. Once they had settled down, Raven spoke.

“So, I’m impressed with us, obviously,” she said, indicating to Octavia and herself. “We finally broke the Commander. But what particular thing finally pushed her over the edge?”

“Wait,” Octavia said, leaning forward. “Does this have anything to do with her skipping our morning run yesterday?”

Clarke rolled her eyes, grumbling to herself as she crossed her arms.

“What was that Clarkey?” Raven asked, poking her friend in the arm.

“I said,” Clarke spoke louder, “that ever since the two of you introduced her to Grey’s Anatomy she’s been parked on the couch. Like, hasn’t moved at all. She’s been binging for the past two weeks!”

Raven and Octavia looked at each other before bursting into laughter.

“It’s not funny, you guys!” Clarke insisted, but she was having trouble reigning in her smile at her two best friends. “There are fourteen seasons of that show, and it’s still ongoing! I’m seriously afraid she’s not going to leave our apartment until she catches up.”

“Aww, Clarkey,” Raven cooed, patting her friend’s hand. “Are you feeling ignored?”

Clarke crossed her arms, huffing. “I mean, a little! I don’t even see what the big deal about that show is!” she exclaimed. “I’m an actual, real doctor! If she wants to stare at doctors all day she can stare at me!”

Octavia grinned, getting up from the couch and bounding over to the kitchen.

“I’ll make more popcorn. Raven?” she asked.

“Already queued,” Raven replied.

Clarke rolled her eyes when a familiar theme song started to play. She had heard it enough times over the past two weeks in her own apartment—she didn’t need to hear it again now.

Any attempts to stand up and leave were thwarted by Raven, who scooted closer to Clarke and practically sat on her lap.

“Stay,” Raven simply said.

“Get ready to have your mind blown, Griff,” Octavia added, placing a bowl of popcorn on the coffee table in front of them.

Clarke huffed again, resigned to her fate of having to watch an episode of this show.

Honestly, her friends were the worst.

“What?!”

“Right??”

“Seriously?!”

“Seriously!”

Clarke looked between her two best friends, mouth agape.

“His wife??”

“RIGHT.”

Clarke hopped up from the couch, rushing over to the kitchen.

“Where are you going?” Raven called out.

“More popcorn! Start season two!” Clarke replied.

She smiled at Raven’s whooping and Octavia’s fist pump—she hurriedly pulled the box of popcorn packets out of the cupboard.

“I can’t believe he’s married!”

“RIGHT?!”

Lexa stood up, stretching her arms high above her head.

“Shit,” she mumbled, looking at her watch. It was already six—her and Clarke were supposed to go out for dinner at seven.

She turned the television off and hurried to their bedroom, peeling off her pajamas along the way and quickly stepping into the shower in their en suite bathroom. Taking a quick shower, she hopped out and rifled through her clean clothes, spotting a pair of jeans and a plain shirt. She got dressed and rushed out to the living room, making sure she had her wallet and phone.

“Clarke, I’m so sorry I got caught up and I forgot—”

Lexa stopped talking abruptly when she realized Clarke was no longer sitting at the counter, drawing in her sketchbook.

In fact, Clarke didn’t seem to be in their apartment at all.

“What the…” Lexa mumbled, looking around.

She furrowed her eyebrows and checked her phone, seeing that Clarke hadn’t messaged her. And she knows she would have remembered if Clarke had told Lexa she was going out.

“Huh,” Lexa said. She looked around once more before heading out of the apartment. She stopped at the door across the hall and tried the handle—of course it was open.

(Despite her repeated warnings to Raven and Octavia to lock their door because they didn’t live in Friends, Raven—people actually have to lock their apartment doors even though they live across from one another.)

She smiled as she heard her girlfriend’s voice. But then frowned when she heard what Clarke was saying.

“WHY DID SHE DO THAT?? OH MY GOD—THEY’RE ALL GETTING FIRED.”

“Clarke?” Lexa asked, stepping completely into the apartment.

She stopped short when Raven, Octavia and Clarke all turned to look at her from their positions on the couch.

And she slowly started to smile, opening her mouth to speak when she saw what was on the television screen.

“No,” Clarke simply said.

“I was just—” Lexa began.

“No,” Clarke said firmly. “There will be no I-told-you-so’s. Just go change back into your pajamas and get your ass over here so we can start season three.”

Lexa simply laughed, before striding over to the couch and leaning down to give her girlfriend a kiss.

Clarke connected their lips firmly, before pushing Lexa away and beckoning to the door with her hand.

“Go, babe,” Clarke said. “And hurry back. Or we’re starting without you.”

Lexa grinned, rushing back to do as Clarke said.

Damn, she was in love with this girl.

“I love you!” she called over her shoulder.

“Love you too!” she heard Clarke reply.

She smiled as she rushed back into their apartment.

It really was the best show.

Later that night, when Raven and Octavia had passed out and Clarke and Lexa decided to head back to their own apartment, Lexa would tell Clarke that she was her person.

They were too busy doing other things to watch any more episodes that night.
