Chapter Text
Emma is walking through the corridor of City Hall to pick up her wife for lunch. The couple’s 2 and a half year old twins, Audrey and Sophie Swan-Mills, are in tow.
EMMA
: (turns to Audrey & Sophie in exasperation) SHHH!
A&S
: (loudly, flanking their Ma) WE WANT BOOBIE!
EMMA:
(rolls eyes) I told you...
A&S
: (a stranger walks past with with a shocked expression) WE WANT BOOBIE! WE WANT BOOBIE!!
Regina meets them in the hallway with her purse.
REGINA
: Emma? What’s all the commotion?
EMMA
: (throws her hand up in surrender) They have been like this all morning while we’ve been running errands. All over town!
A&S
: (hugging and pawing at Regina in greeting) MOMMY! MOMMY! We WANT BOOBIE!
EMMA
: What does that even mean?
REGINA
: (puts a quieting finger over her lips sternly and the twins stop shouting) Did you take the Bug or the Mercedes?
EMMA
: I took your car.
REGINA
: (knowing nod) Okay.
EMMA
: What? What is it?
AUDREY
: Mommies, can we have boobie? (Emma blushes at an elderly citizen passing by and giving the family a curious look)
SOPHIE
: We want BOOBIE!
Emma raises her hands palm up in frustration and REGINA smirks and grabs her wife’s hand, holding it reassuringly.
REGINA
: Darling, the twins want to hear that new playlist you made for me. We’ve been listening to it in my car for days now.
EMMA
: Playlist?
REGINA
: Yes. (pointed look)
EMMA
: (blinks and then eyes widen in realization) That’s what this is about?
REGINA
: Yep.
A&S
: WE WANT BOOBIE!!
EMMA
: (brings Regina in closer and groans, snickering into her neck)
REGINA
: (kisses Emma’s lips) This is your fault, in a way.
EMMA
: (to the little girls before they can say anything else) Fine! (she releases Regina’s hand so both mothers can claim a twin each) Let’s go listen to some Michael BUBLÉ. (Regina shakes her head with a chuckle)
A&S
: (joyfully) BOOBIE! BOOBIE! BOOBIE!
SQ
: (corrects) BUBLÉ!
A&S
: Boobie.
EMMA
: Oh geez.
REGINA
: They’ll get it, dear.
EMMA
: (hurries to open the main entrance for her family, and half laughs) You should have seen my Mom’s face during coffee.
