Chapter Text
Sicheng zips his luggage case closed, recounting the things he had put inside just in case he had forgotten something. He looks behind him to look at Taeil, who’s swinging his feet back and forth as he sat on one of the beds, humming some song that Sicheng can’t quite put a title to.
He laughs, jumping on the bed beside Taeil, earning a scowl from the latter. “So,” Sicheng starts, staring at the luggage case that sat on his bed. “Are you ready?”
Taeil doesn’t answer but instead he takes out his wand. Sicheng slowly turns his gaze to the light moving in the air, Taeil having tears in his eyes.
“Not really,” Sicheng hears. Taeil smiles, a pained one that is, at the symbols he draws using his wand. “I’m not ready to go back out there, you know? Leaving this place, leaving everything behind, leaving you.”
“You’re not leaving me,” Sicheng immediately replies, nudging his best friend ever so harshly. Taeil groans, shaking his head.
“You don’t understand,” he mumbles, dropping his wand to the side to play with his fingers. “You have a soulmate, you met him and you probably have your whole life with him planned in your head. I’m just your best friend, I don’t have a purpose anymore.”
Sicheng chuckles, hugging Taeil with all his strength and gives him a kiss to the cheek. “Hey, buddy,” he mutters. “Don’t ever think for a second that all your purpose in my life is to be my company. You’re a lot more than just that.”
Taeil’s frown remains unmoving, his stare at Sicheng becoming more dead. “Besides, you have that Hansol dude or whatever,” Sicheng playfully scoffs, grinning from ear to ear. Taeil brightens up at that, unable to resist the smile coming to his lips.
Hogwarts was awfully tiring to be in, if Sicheng was being honest. Through the whole seven years, the days of falling off his broom, receiving a bunch of howlers after doing something stupid and just being a wizard that struggles with studies.
Sicheng knew he was up for the longest and most exhausting ride he’s going to be in and it’s funny how he’s still alive after it’s done.
Taeil was a big contribution to his survival. If he hadn’t barged into Sicheng’s place in the train, they wouldn’t have met and he wouldn’t have decided on annoying this boy to gain a friend.
They were so young and stupid, Sicheng even considered on kicking that loud boy’s ass if he didn’t stop trying to ask what the hell was Sicheng holding—it was a lego figure, by the way, one that Sicheng threw towards Taeil’s face.
It led to a great friendship, one that they both know will last until they’re no longer on earth. He still looks at Taeil feels glad to have thrown that lego figure to his face, because if he took in his anger, he wouldn’t apologize and realize that he wasn’t that bad at all.
“I remember when we vowed to ourselves to graduate Hogwarts without boyfriends,” Taeil mumbles as he stands up, taking hold of his own luggage case. Sicheng walks back to his bed and lifts the luggage, he lets out a laugh and glances at Taeil above his shoulder.
“Well,” he smiles, trudging towards the door. “I guess we’re just not meant to not have boyfriends.”
And once Sicheng hears Taeil shut his luggage case, he turns and gives him a big grin. “We’re special.”
The door bursts open moments later, making both heads turn to see who had caused the commotion. Johnny stood with both hands on his hips, he always looked so happy so nothing was new. “Alright, Slytherins, ready to go?”
Sicheng shakes his head and hands his luggage. “Maybe I am, maybe I’m not.” it makes Johnny laugh before he rolls the luggage away. “It’s the thought that counts.”
He couldn’t wait anyway. He merely runs into his boyfriend’s arms, capturing his lips into his own. “Hey, what’s with the rush? We have the entire day,” Jaehyun laughs, caressing his boyfriend’s cheeks.
Sicheng scrunches his nose, pecking Jaehyun’s lips before speaking. “Just to make up for lost time.”
“Lost time?” Jaehyun manages to ask before Sicheng was kissing him until they’re both breathless. Sicheng pulls away to explain only to kiss him again.
They’re gasping for air when Yuta comes to ask for a picture, and when everything’s done, they grab their things and each other’s hands before they start walking with their friends.
“I really think we should get out of bed.”
Jaehyun doesn’t open his eyes. He lays still on his bed, arm resting behind his head. Sicheng pokes his cheek while all of that.
Sicheng’s moving a lot beside him, which makes him giggle a little and pops an eye open to watch him try and wriggle himself out of Jaehyun’s hold. “You’re strong!” Sicheng shouts, still attempting to remove Jaehyun’s arm.
He loosens his hold a little, making Sicheng sigh out of relief, and reaches for his phone that rested on the table just beside his bed. “I have six missed calls from Johnny,” he says matter-of-a-factly, Sicheng had heard every single ring.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Jaehyun asks, letting go of Sicheng entirely to face him. Sicheng shrugs, moving closer to his boyfriend. “I didn’t think you were really sleeping.”
Jaehyun grabs his face to pull him in for a short kiss, but knowing Sicheng, he’d ask for more so he doesn’t say anything until his boyfriend was tired of taking him by the neck to attach their lips together.
When Sicheng was finally, finally tired, he stays laying face to face closely with Jaehyun. The older doesn’t say anything but admire his boyfriend’s face, Sicheng groans at that. “Stop!” but Jaehyun only laughs.
The sun was already starting to rise, and the light shines through their blinds, setting on Jaehyun’s face in lines. Sicheng lifts a hand to touch his cheek, pouting when his boyfriend flutters his eyes closed once again.
He nudges him with his knee, hitting his thigh. “I really, really think we should get up now.”
Jaehyun finally gives into the thought, seeing Sicheng sit up from bed. He debates on whether going to work though, not wanting to dread hours of not being with his boyfriend and all.
Not until the door gets kicked open and he gets up immediately, expecting what was standing right in front of them.
“Take me to school, take me to school!” Jaemin excitedly shouts, jumping in excitement. The boy loved going to school with his Uncle Jaehyun and the latter can’t really say no to his favorite nephew.
Taeyong leans on the doorframe, arms crossed with an apologizing smile. Jaehyun picks up the child and peppers his face with kisses. “Don’t worry, Yong, he’s fun to be with. I don’t mind…”
Jaemin immediately wraps his arms around Jaehyun’s neck, giggling when he feels his uncle standing up from bed. “Yuta and I are getting a car soon, I promise. You won’t have to be my son’s service every other day.”
He rolls his eyes, tapping the child’s shoulder to make the boy face his father with a grin. “Papa, papa! Uncle Jaehyun is taking me to school!”
He can’t quite resist to coo at his nephew. He’s everything adorable and sweet combined, a product of love and care. (And Jaehyun likes to tease both Yuta and Taeyong for having a child so different from the both of them. Were they ever sweet? No!)
“Yes, I know that. Behave, don’t ask for cookies during the ride-” Jaemin raises his arms in disbelief, Jaehyun doesn’t miss the way he pouts and furrows his eyebrows. “But papa, nana wants cookies!”
“You were late the last time you asked uncle Jaehyun to buy you cookies! You were lucky too he didn’t ask for me to pay.”
Jaemin widens his eyes and turns to Jaehyun, who playfully returns the same look. “Papa, pay uncle!”
The two boys let out loud laughter, looking at an upset Taeyong. His son was a handful but they’re sure Taeyong and Yuta love their son with everything they have. So Jaehyun lets Jaemin down, grabbing his nearest clothing before letting the boy climb up his arms once more.
“Alright, say goodbye to papa and your uncle Sicheng”
The child does as he’s told and yelps in joy once they’re out the door. “You’re marrying uncle Sicheng soon, right?”
He opens the car door with a smile, ruffling the child’s hair after placing him gently on the seat. “What makes you ask me that, Nana?” he kneels to the child’s height as he asks, wiping a stain of chocolate on his cheek.
“You love him and Papa and Dad love each other so they got married! Don’t you and uncle Sicheng love each other?” the boy cutely asks, playing with his fingers on his lap.
Jaehyun chuckles and nods. “Your uncle Sicheng and I were meant to do that, Nana, you don’t have to worry.”
Jaemin tilts his head and squints. “What do you mean meant to be?”
And as the child finishes his question, Jaehyun drops his head to pull down one of his sleeves. There, inked a beautifully colored flower that made Hogwarts a bit too difficult to forget.
He looks at his nephew again and shrugs. “Apparently,” he mutters. “We’re a little different.”
