Chapter Text
Pulling up in front of Can's house Tin mind still wondered to the message his father had sent him but with his phone in Can's position it made the problem seem so far away, like it couldn't get him or hurt him. Climbing off Can's bike a voice pulled Tin's attention "oh his taller than you" said a smiling guy who had his arms wrapped around another boy.
"Not by much" Can said leaning his head against Tin's.
"And he is much better looking" a broad guy with an even broader smile said as he looked Tin up and down.
"Hey!" Can tried to kick the broad guy's leg but the boy skillfully dodged it.
A guy with brown wavy hair and full lips walked up behind Can "no he's got a point" he said as he lent on Can's shoulder.
"No he doesn't" Can snapped pushing the guy off him "and what does it matter?"
"Someone could steal him away" the broad guy teased but the way Can tensed put Tin on edge.
Stepping back away from the group Tin dragged Can with him "no they couldn't"
Smiling Can hugged Tin and pressed a kiss to his cheek "they are just teasing" Can pulled Tin towards the house as the four boys fell in behind whispering to each other as they watched the new couple cuddle up on the bench while they set themselves at the outdoor dining table.
"I better do some introductions" Can said giving Tin's waist a small squeeze "that's Techno and his boyfriend and my best friend Good" Can pointed at the two that had been wrapped around each other before but where now sitting as close together as they could in their chairs. "That is Type" Can pointed to the broad guy "he makes sure we all stay inline and the idiot next to him is Champ"
"Hey!" Champ called annoyed at his introduction but Good reached across the table and patted his hand reassuringly.
"No he has a point" Good deadpanned then smiled at Champ's shocked expression.
Watching the conversation bounce back and forward Tin laughed at the playfulness between the friends and could see why Good was Can's best friend. Starting to feel stuffy in his school uniform Tin excused himself to go change, he had just stepped inside when he heard one of the guys exclaim "he is staying here, how did you swing that?" Tin just kept walking amused that the voice had sounded so impressed.
"What do you mean you know nothing about it, you were meant to keep an eye on him. How could you not see him getting that close to another boy"
"Father please, he is old enough to make his own choices weather they are bad or good" Tul said looking at the furious man on his tablet, he could still make Tul flinch even through a video call.
"So you can't help him make this choice but you were all too happy to help him make the choice to go to that party and ruin his reputation" his father snapped.
Tul got flustered at his father’s words "you know about that?"
"Of course I fucking know, I have known since it happened. You're not the mastermind you seem to think you are son, I also know about the account you keep funneling money into for that boy of your own that you keep" The man looked at Tul like he was a disappointment “at least you had the decency to marry Wadee”

Tul had spent the rest of the weekend trying to get in contact with Tin but every call ended up ringing through to voice mail and thanks to Tul alienating Tin none of the people he contacted knew where he was. By Monday morning Tul was ready to pull his hair out and when he had tried to contact his own boyfriend he just kept getting the recorded message telling him that the phone he had called was either switched off or out of range. That was why Tul found himself standing outside of Tin's school looking out of sorts waiting for his little brother to arrive. He hadn't expected for his brother to be happy as he and the pick haired boy got off his bike and made their way towards the front of the school holding hands, it pissed Tul off but there was also something that sat in the pit of Tul's stomach that he would rather not think about.
Seeing the way Tin pulled away from Can when they spotted him thrilled Tul with the knowledge that Tin was still so afraid of him "get in the car Tin" Tul said with little caring for how he sounded or how people were openly watching them.
"You don't have to" Can said reassuringly as he took Tin's hand back into his and squeezed it.
"He does if he wants me to leave you and your family alone" Tul's menacing manner even had Can pausing but the way Tin shook with fear and nodded his agreement woke Can to action.
"Fuck you asshole, there isn't anything you can do to my family" Can said pushing Tin behind him as he took an aggressive step towards Tul.
“Oh little brother, did you neglect to tell your little fuck boy who we are” Tul said with all the smarminess he possessed and a smirk that pissed both boys off.
Before Can could even get over the shock of getting called a ‘fuck boy’ Tin had pushed past him landing a solid punch to Tul’s jaw sending his older brother to the ground “don’t you ever talk about my Can like that, he is a far better man then you will ever be” Tin spat down at Tul his voice dripping with venom.
“You think I will let you get away with hitting me?” Tul rubbed at his jaw as he got to his feet.
“You think that was a hit? I have a real hit for you” Tin said pushing Tul towards his car “I never wanted the family business, even after the crap you pulled in England I still thought fuck it the business isn’t worth this fight. But today you went too far Tul, you think I would just stand by and let you threaten the person I love and his family. Prepare yourself for a fight Tul because if you think I will just let you have what you want after you have done everything to take away all that I have ever wanted you are very much mistaken” the hate and vitriol that incased Tin made him seem a thousand feet tall and Tul could feel his knees shake.
Climbing into the driver’s seat Tul tried to formulate a plan, one that would bring Tin down for good and ensure that there was no way their father would hand the business to him. Before he could start the engine the passenger door was yanked open “by the way Tul, I approve of Sean. If you can work things out with him I look forward to seeing more of him”. The deafening thud of the car door was like a punch to his gut, panic ripped through Tul as he speed away from the school towards Sean’s apartment.
Walking into class everyone fell into a hushed silence as Tin entered with a brightly smiling Can wrapped around his waist “what?” Tin asked, apparently the aura that had shaken Tul still surrounded him. For the first time in he didn’t know how long the other students didn’t loudly whisper mean hurtful things or tried to trip him as he passed. Sitting down at his desk it was in its rightful place and there was no graffiti on it. Tin breathed easy for the first time since he started at this school and smiled as Can soothingly rubbed the knuckles that had punched Tul’s jaw.
Throwing open Sean’s apartment door Tul looked around to find that everything seemed to be in place, taking a relived breath he made his way to Sean’s bedroom hoping to find his love still curled up in bed. When he eased the bedroom door open the sight that met him made his heart break and stomach roll. All the closet doors were hang open and the draws were pulled out to show that everything was empty, every scrap of clothing was gone along with all his shoes. Sitting on the edge of the bare mattress Tul felt the prickle of unshed tears behind his eyes when he saw a note of the bedside table.
Tul,
I had thought that I knew you, knew who you were and what you were capable of but I was wrong. I finally met your family and what I was told shocked me. At first I couldn’t believe what I was told because to me you were always so sweet and caring, a man who would do anything to ensure my happiness. But as I thought about it, it all made since. The phone conversations I overheard, your shift in attitudes, the way you seemed to keep me at arms length from everything. I had thought it was because of our relationship and I could understand that, not everyone is ready to accept our love.
But I realized that the distance you kept me at was so that I wouldn’t see who you truly were and it destroyed the happiness I had built with you. I need some time to think, once I know what I want to happen between us I will call you.
Bye Tul
Tul felt his stomach heave, jumping to his feet he dropped the note on his way to the bathroom to throw up.
Hours later Tul was roused from his drunken sleep by his phones persistent ringing “what!” he bit at whoever was on the other end.
“Sir I thought I would let you know I am at the airport now, your mother and father’s flight will be landing shortly”
“She’s not my mother” Tul snapped before the words really sunk in “wait, did you say they were back?”
“Yes sir we should be back at the house in about an hour”
Tul cut the call as he pushed himself off the couch and headed to the bathroom for a shower, standing under the spray Tul could feel his hands shake as a sob tried to escape his throat.
When his parents finally arrived Tul was sitting in the lounge room supported by the couch he had been passed out on earlier. Rising to his feet he greeted his parent respectfully as he readied himself for the tirade they were bound to spill at him. Instead they moved on to polite chit chat about their trip until the last person he expected to see walked in hand in hand with the pink haired boy that seemed to be the trigger for all his current problems. Looking the two up and down it was obvious that Tin had dressed the peasant boy up in a suit but he hadn’t made him do anything about the gaudy pink hair.
“Well now that we are all here apparently, let’s get whatever this is underway shall we” Tul looked at the other four with equal parts suspicion and curiosity.
“I do have another gust coming but we can start without him, I’m sure he will be able to catch up when he arrives” Tul just rolled his eyes at Tin’s words unable to imagine what other piece of trash he was going to bring into the house.
Settling down Tul noticed that everyone but Can had accepted a drink when his father had offered “are you too good to accept a drink from my father”
Can looked at Tul a little surprised at being addressed “not at all Tul. I, unlike some here care about the wellbeing of his youngest son and since I will be taking him home later tonight I’m not going to risk his life for the sake of propriety” Can explained as he happily took the glass of water that was handed to him.
To rub salt into Tul’s wound Tin leaned in to Can, pressed a quick kiss to his cheek “thank you”
“Very well, since we are here let’s get started” the booming voice of their father drew Tul away from glaring at his brother and the boyfriend “we are only back for two days to settle this matter then we will be going back abroad to finish what we had been doing. Now that Tin has actually expressed an interest in taking over the company I will be sending Tul to England to handle the acquisition of our European branch”
“What! He isn’t ready to take over the company he hadn’t even finished college yet. I will not work for a child let alone have to treat him as a superior” Tul yelled furiously as he got to his feet.
“I may have loved your mother boy but that does not mean I will tolerate you raising your voice at me or making demands in my own home. You will either do as you’re told or find yourself penniless” his father boomed evaporating any fight Tul had in him.
Tired from his day and exhausted with his life Tul dropped back into his seat and waited for the next blow.
“Now Tul did raise a very important matter, Tin is still in college and will be for another fifteen months”
“You are right father and because of such I have assigned a proxy that will act on my behalf while still reporting to me so that I can keep abreast of company matters and will have final sign off on any major moves” the way Tin smirked at Tul made him suspicious that Tin was holding something back.
“Excellent son, now to the matter of your friend here” his father shuffled forward in his chair like he was preparing for an argument.
“He will remain by my side, you and mother can pick whoever you like to sire my child but Can will always be the one and only person at my side. He will gain any and all benefits given to anyone else who would marry into this family” the shock now on his father’s face was a first for Tin, he had never seen anyone shock the fierce man.
“Very well, if only you had that kind of fortitude Tul you might have been with the person you wanted instead of hiding him away like some dirty secret”
Before Tul even had the chance to respond to his father’s cutting words the doorbell rang “let me make myself useful” Can said jumping up with a smile taking large strides to get to the door.
The Medthanan’s sat in awkward silence listening to the muffled conversation of Can and the guest as they made their way through the entrance hall. The moment the two entered the room Tul’s jaw dropped and he was rendered speechless. He had been wrong when he thought Tin was the last person he expected to see tonight because standing in front of him in a well-tailored suit with his hair slicked back and stony expression was Sean. His Sean, the very man who had left him broken hearted only hours ago and the main reason for the thudding headache pressing on the back of his eyes.
“Welcome Sean, thank you for coming at such short notice” Tin said getting to his feet and shaking the man’s hand then turned to do the introductions “mother, father I am sure you at least know of Sean” Tin paused and glanced at Tul “he is the man hired to act as my proxy until the time comes that I will be able to take over the company, at which time he will remain as my right-hand”
Tul stumbled as he climbed out of his chair “this is absolute bullshit” Tul cried “he has a degree in fine arts, how the hell could he possible run a company?”
“Actually” Sean’s voice came out cold and clinical “I have a MBA in Cooperate Finance and Cooperate Business Management, I had gotten my degrees with the plan of assisting a close friend of mine but those plans changed”
Every unemotional word Sean spoke felt like a knife to Tul’s heart as he watched the man he loved not even acknowledge him as a stranger, the devastation quickly turned to anger “look at me Sean!” seeing the man unmoving Tul snapped “LOOK AT ME! I paid for your life for the past ten years and you repay me by stabbing me in the back, breaking my heart and throwing your lot in with my brother”
“Do you even have a heart?” Sean’s face twisted with anger “because if you do I don’t understand how someone could do what you did to your little brother”
“You don’t understand, there is a lot more to it then he would have told you” Tul crossed the space between them.
“He told me everything, you have no excuse Tul. He was a child in all of this, he didn’t ask for your father to leave your mother for his. The only thing he ever asked of you was your love and acceptance and instead you have forever scared him, you are the monster in this story not them” Sean’s eyes followed as Tul dropped to the floor as the weight of Sean’s words weighed heavily on him. Sean watched Tul to see if he could find some sympathy for the man he had once loved and while it still heart him to walk away he couldn’t sympathies with the mess at his feet “if that is all, I would asked to be excused”
Three months later Tin was sitting on the deck at the back of his house with Can at his side as Pete, Ae, Type, Champ, Techno and Good made a ruckus as they splashed around and plaid in the pool. Tin had managed to get both his parent and Can’s parents to agree to let them spend week nights at the Kirakorn’s and the weekends at the Medthanan’s. Tin now looked forward to weekends because they usually ended up with their friends sleeping over as well, filling Tin home with life and laughter.
“Is everything okay?” Can asked at the strange look on Tin’s face.
“I think so, Tul sent me an email. Apparently our father is making his see a Psychiatrist while he is in England otherwise he is going to cut him off”
“And what does that have to do with you?” Can sounded like he was getting defensive and Tin loved that he now had someone to help him fight his battles.
“His doctor has told him he has to try and make amends with those that he has wronged” Tin said absently as he still skimmed through the email.
“Well that’s going to be a long list. Please tell me you are going to make him work for it” Can asked with a devious smirk.
“It will be the first time he has done some honest work in his life” Tin said shutting his laptop email left un-replied “let’s join the others”
