Notes:

Chapter Text

He was used to waking up with dry eyes. The skin of his cheeks tightened from his salty tears. Everything felt so heavy. And his brain wouldn t stop reminding him of how unmanly it all was. To be hiding here. From his best friend.

Kirishima Eijirou was better than this.

A soft grey light filtered through his slider , the chill in the air reminding him of the damp cement outside. But as he listened closely , the pattering of rain was no longer present , the air was suffocatingly still , the room laden heavy with anxiety and desperation.

It felt too familiar.

Eijirou sat up slowly in an attempt to center his thoughts.

He didn t understand why he was suddenly feeling so unsettled. He couldn t place why he felt so trapped. Why he felt like such a

fraud

But in all reality , he didn t need to understand. He didn t need an explanation or a label. Eijirou would get by. He would cope by doing what he does best.

Masking and projecting.

Because when you re faced with obstacles , it s easier to fix someone else than it is to fix yourself.

Another drip

It s about time sh**ty hair ”, it wasn t surprising seeing Bakugou displaying his usual tight scowl , brows pinched close. What was surprising however , was his casual posture , head tilted with eyes squinting at the red haired boy in front of him , shoulders leaning against the wall in front of Eijirous door waiting for him.

Bakugou hasn t ever waited for anyone his whole life.

And as if he read his mind Bakugou remarked If you make me wait next time I ll kick your ass into next week.

Eijirou allowed a soft chuckle to escape his lips and one glance toward bakugou told him that the weight of last night wasn t present , at least for now.

Bakugou immediately turned and walked away. The movement itself could ve suggested he wanted to be left alone , but Eijirou knew bakugou by now. His pace slightly slower , edging him to catch up. So he did. Tying his red locks into a Half up do , he fell in line with Bakugous pace as they headed to the field.

The end of the day came faster than his brain could register.

How was your day bro Kaminari slapped a hand on his shoulder from behind. Eijirou sighed and slouched further in the couch. As he tried to focus on what he did all day it was as if he could feel all the memories and all of the feelings just slip from his grip. There wasn t much more he could add to the good that slipped past his lips.

That s good man. My day was great! That cute girl from general studies gave me her number!!

Bro. For the last time I m pretty sure she gave you the phone number to that American pizza place down the street. I m telling you know the number by heart sero couldn t help the snicker behind his words

Bullsh*t man , I got her number and that s it

Eijirou could hear them continue the banter , ending in Kaminari calling the number and sure enough Dave s pizza place this is Tanaka how ca-

But it was as if everything around him was slipping out of his grip.

..I.. think I m gonna head to bed not even waiting on replies , he headed to the elevators and up to his room , unceremoniously face-planting into his mattress feeling the tingle of his limbs as he slowly faded from the present.

Notes:

Uhhhh sorry this took so long. It’s not very good. It’s been half in progress for months in my notes so. Here’s to hoping it’s not crap.

Notes:

Okay so I originally meant to end this chapter a lot sooner so it could be wrapped up in this single chapter or expanded if I do desire. But I kept writing and couldn’t stop sooo there will be at least 2 more chapters. It just depends if my brains wants to process it as a whole rather than as screen shots of a moment in time.
