Chapter Text

“Good morning, Mr Kujo.” Noriko greeted, walking into the dining room wearing on of Jotoka’s shirts, which looked huge on her.

“Oh! Good morning, Noriko! Your parents went back home toward 3 am. Don’t worry, they sober enough to drive.” Harry commented, as he was kneading… something. Bread dough? “How is Jotoka doing?”

“She drank a lot last night, so right now, she’s hungover and laying in her bed and regretting her life choices.” Noriko explained. At Harry’s worried face, she added that at least, the other teenager wasn’t throwing up, she just had a severe headache. “By the way, is there like, anything I can bring her? You know, to make the hangover easier to deal with?”

"Bananas, eggs and oatmeal." Noriko jumped in surprise, before turning around. Sanae was standing behind her. And now that the teenager wasn't sitting, she realized that Sanae was shorter than her. Visibly, Jotoka had gotten her tall gènes from her father’s side of the family.

The redhead blinked. "What?"

"Bananas, eggs and oatmeal. That kind of food helps with hangovers." Sanae explained, shrugging. The older woman then went next to her husband, who turned to her and offered a smile. "Your parents, your sister and her mother are planning on staying here until tomorrow. I think Josephine’s still angry about us marrying."

"Don't worry, my mother will come around. Hopefully. And what about Jeanne and Maryam?”

“Their plane leaves tonight, so they’ll leave then.”

“Uh. Weird. Normally, they stay for at least a few days…” Harry commented as Noriko started on preparing some eggs for Jotoka. “Noriko-chan, do you need some help with that?”

“Uh? Oh, yeah. Could you keep an eye on the eggs? I need to make the oatmeal.” Harry nodded, turning his head toward the eggs as Noriko started searching for the grains.

“The cupboard on your left.” Sanae said. Noriko turned toward the older woman, before following her instructions. Indeed, the instant oatmeal was there. She grabbed some honey, cinnamon and brown sugar, and filled a small bowl with the oatmeal, adding as much water as recommended and a good tablespoon of each ingredient, mixing the whole as Sanae raised an eyebrow. “That’s a lot of sugar.”

“She likes sweet stuff.” Was all the redhead said as put the oatmeal in the microwave before turning back to the eggs, which were about ready. She got them out of the pan and onto the plate, sprinkling them with some salt and pepper before the microwave beeped. She carefully took the small bowl out of the microwave, putting it on the large plate, before grabbing a banana and a small bread that was resting in a basket. She started eating said small bread, before turning toward Sanae. “So… your Jojo’s mum?”

“... Jotoka is okay with being called Jojo again?” Sanae asked, turning toward Noriko with a lifted eyebrow. God. Beside a few details like the hair, the height, the body shape, the eye color and the fact that age was visibly catching up with the older woman, Jotoka looked exactly like her mother. They even emoted the same way!

“... I have girlfriend privileges?”

Sanae looked at Noriko for a moment, before shrugging. “Oh.” Was all she offered. The redhead blinked at her.

“That’s it?”

“I’m not often in my daughter’s life, so I have no strong opinions on what she does.”

“... Okay… well, she misses you more than she appears to. Try spending time with her before you go back on tour again.” Noriko said, before swallowing her last bite of bread and carrying the plate of food to Jotoka’s room. She slid it open, and walked to the mattress, where her girlfriend was laying down under a pile of blanket to shield herself from the light. “Hey.”

The taller girl peeked out from under her blankets, before going back under them. “Hey. Can you close my curtains, please?” Noriko hummed, putting the plate of food next to the mattress before closing the curtains, darkening the room considerably. Jotoka peeked out from under her blankets, before picking up the plate of food to start eating. “Thanks.”

“It’s no problem.” The redhead said, crawling back on the mattress and wrapping her arms around Jotoka’s muscular shoulder as she continued eating. “So… uh… your mom’s here.”

“Yeah.”

“Are you… you know… gonna talk to her?...”

“I don’t know.”

“Do you wanna talk about it?”

“Not right now.”

“Okay…” Noriko sighed out, putting her head on Jotoka’s back as the taller girl finished eating. When she heard the plates slightly clattering, she started talking again. “Hey, remember when you asked me to come to America with you?”

“Yeah.”

“Well… I talked to my parents about it, and…” The redhead took a deep breath as Jotoka shifted to look at her. “How does the New York University sound?”

A beat. Then “Holy shit. You convinced them!?”

“Yeah! They agreed with you that going back inside of my bubble was a bad idea, so… surprise! I’m going to go to the States with you!”

Jotoka smiled. Really smiled, the kind that made the harsh lines on her face disappear and lit a spark in her eyes. She then hugged “That’s amazing! One of the school I’m planning to apply to is Stony Brook. I mean, Eckerd is still my first choice, but it’s not that likely that I’m going to get in, so… we’ll probably be in the same city!”

It was Noriko’s turn to smile. She stared at her girlfriend, before jumping onto her, kissing every inch of her face as the two girls started laughing. They would deal with their respective issues later. Right now, they just wanted to enjoy the moment.
