Chapter Text
Kirishima POV
Kirishima didn’t sleep at all that Sunday night he confessed his feelings to Bakugou. There was too much on his mind, “What will he say?” “Will he say anything?” “What will my friends think” “What’s going to happen to the Bakusquad?” and so on.
When Monday morning finally rolled around Kirishima wanted nothing more than to curl up in his bed and stay there for the rest of eternity. But, he knew he couldn’t do that. Though it was only 5:30 AM and he hadn’t slept at all the previous night, he decided it was time to get up for the day. Part of him wondered if it would be a better idea to skip class altogether today, but he decided against it. The only thing worse he could do than talking to Bakugou would be avoiding him. So, distraughtly, the redhead forced himself out of bed and started to get ready for the day.
Kirishima trudged over to the bathroom to have a shower and hopefully wash all the negativity out of his mind. There was no one there of course, it being so early and all, so luckily Eijirou didn’t have to talk to anyone just yet.
When he entered the bathroom the first thing Kirishima saw was a mirror, though it didn’t seem like that at first. He could hardly recognize himself when he caught the first glimpse of his reflection. He looked… well to put it bluntly, he looked like shit. His hair was sticking up every which way, it was so bad that you could see the boy’s black root peeking out from the mess of ruby locks. His skin was sickly pale, except for the purple bags under his eyes, making it clear that he hadn’t slept that night. His eyes were the worst part, they were red and puffy around the rims and were extremely bloodshot. Anyone to even look at the kid would likely know that he had been crying for at least a few hours prior. His appearance was something that definitely could not be fixed by just a quick shower, or even some makeup.
When Eijirou stepped into the hot shower and let the scalding water rush from his head all the way down to his back he let out a sigh, it felt… nice. He finally felt at least an ounce of relaxation had come into his body. He took his time in there as he was in no rush. He scrubbed and massaged every inch of his body with soap and then lotion, by the time he was done the shower had run cold, but it didn’t matter to him, he felt at peace. That peace couldn’t last forever though, eventually he had to leave the shower. To his shock, when he saw himself in the mirror, he actually looked quite a bit better. He still had fairly large bags under his eyes, but then again, so did Aizawa and nobody mentioned it, so he figured it wouldn’t matter all that much.
When he got back to his room he noticed that it was only 6:15, school didn’t start for another two hours. Kirishima got dressed and ready nonetheless. He put extra effort into his appearance this morning. He put some gel in his hair, used deodorant and body spray, made sure to pick out a clean uniform, and even put on some concealer that Mina insisted he buy the last time the two of them were at the mall together. Basically, he did everything he could to make the point across that, “I totally have my shit together and definitely did NOT spend all of last night crying over a guy who will never like me back, and I’m not on the verge of crying or having a mental breakdown at ALL so please don’t ask me how I’m doing because everything is FINE.” He didn’t know if that was the vibe he was sending off, but it was what he was going for.
Considering he still had quite a while before he had to be in class, Eijirou decided it would be a good idea to go on a nice walk around campus before school. It would take his mind off of everything, plus he wouldn’t have to deal with anyone that morning when everyone else was having breakfast or getting ready for the day.
Before he left, he took one last look at his desk. At the one drawer that was empty save for one thing. The drawer with Bakugou’s letter. He told himself to forget it, that it was stupid, but he couldn’t shake the thought from his head. He left his dorm with the letter in his hand.

Bakugou POV
When Bakugou’s alarm rang the next morning signifying that it was time to get out of bed, he groaned and pushed a pillow over his ears. The last thing he wanted to do at that moment was to go to school. He barely got any sleep the previous night and he was feeling like shit, the night before his best friend had said that he loved him, and apparently everyone else knew about it too, and on top of all he had an English project due today that he didn’t even get to fucking finish. So yeah, things were going fucking peachy for Bakugou Katsuki.
After the blond boy spent approximately twenty minutes bitching to himself about having to go to school he was finally able to force his body to get out of bed. He needed something to take his mind off of his anger so he decided to get on his floor and start doing some push ups, just a few he told himself, that would be all it took to clear his head.
“Just a few push ups” somehow turned into 100 push ups, 150 sit ups, 1000 jumping jacks, and 50 burpees. By the end of it all Bakugou felt a bit better, but only by a slight amount. At least he was able to focus his attention more towards his aching muscles than his hatred towards a certain redhead he thought bitterly.
When Katsuki turned towards his clock beside his bed he was finally able to see the time. To his surprise and frustration he had spent so much time wallowing in outrage that it was already 8:00, meaning he only had about twenty minutes to get ready, get dressed and head to school.
“Fuck!” Bakugou growled.
The explosive boy quickly went to get ready for his day. He may be pissed off, but he sure as hell wasn’t going to miss school because of it.

To his pleasure, Bakugou was actually able to get ready for school in record time and by the time he rushed into the classroom and took a look at the clock, he realized it was only 8:20, meaning he got there with five minutes to spare.
His joy didn’t last too long when he took a look inside his classroom. There were quite a few students already there, Katsuki wasn’t surprised by that though, plenty of his classmates were nerds and wanted to get to class with time to spare, because god forbid they be late and ruin their perfect reputations. Instead what surprised Bakugou was the face covered by a mop of rep hair laying down on a desk in the middle of the room. Kirishima was never early to school. Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, and Sero were usually the last people to class, rushing in just before the bell rang.
Katsuki obviously was not going to ask the redhead about why he was here so early so the boy decided to just ignore it and sit down at his desk. That’s when he noticed a carefully folded up piece of paper sitting on the small table with a small notice on it “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL SCHOOL IS OVER AND YOU ARE ALONE”. Bakugou huffed, he knew who’s writing that was too, Kirishima’s chicken scratches are unmistakable.
Despite the words on the front, Bakugou still decided to unfold the paper and read what was inside. After reading the first line he could already tell what is was… a stupid fucking love letter. It took all his strength not to blow the thing up in his hands right then. With each line he read he got more and more angry, he didn’t know why, he just didn’t like what he was reading. By the time he was finished reading the bell had rang and everybody was in the class except for the teacher. He sighed as he read the last line of the note and tried to throw it across the room into the trash can at the front. Unfortunately, he missed and the letter ended up on the floor. Figuring one of the extras would just pick it up later, Bakugou chose to leave it there. That of course didn’t happen and Aoyama went to grab the note off the floor and unfolded it.
“Ooh, what do we have here?” he sang as he opened the paper, “Ah, from the looks of it it’s a love note addressed to … Bakugou? Hmm, very interesting.”
From beside Bakugou Jirou yelled ou, “Read it!” From the cheers from some other students in the class it appeared other people agreed too.
Kirishima’s face turned bright red and he sat there in shock, unable to move or say a thing as he saw everything unfold in front of him.”
“Okay, I shall,” Aoyama agreed, he then started to read the note in the most dramatic voice he could muster. “Dear Bakugou Katsuki, you are hands down the rudest, brashest, most arrogant person I have ever met, and unfortunately, I love everything about you. Bakugou, for a while now I have been hopelessly in love with you. If you’ve gotten this note either something great or not so great has happened.”
“Ooh, I wonder what it is?” Tooru commented.
“I wrote this to let you know that you will always carry a piece of my heart with you, and I will always be there for anything you need. Every day since the day I knew I loved you has been torture because I couldn’t do anything about it. You made my sorry life a thousand times better than it ever would’ve been.”
“OMG, so sweet,” Yaoyorozu squealed.
Everyone in the class looked so infatuated except for a few people. Mina sat there with her jaw dropped, Deku had wide eyes, Kaminari and Todoroki looked like they were trying to contain their laughter and Kirishima looked like he was about to burst into tears.
“I know this will probably mean nothing to you because you’re probably straight, but I need to summon my nonexistent guts and take a chance. You know, I used to say people my age couldn’t fall in love, but I guess I proved myself wrong... well actually, you did”
“Wait, this is a gay love note! GROSS!” Mineta shouted, but Sero was quick to tape his mouth shut and listen on.
“You opened my eyes and brought me to a better place, and I know that’s some sappy shit, but it’s true. Everytime I look into your eyes the entire world fades away and it’s just you and me. If I ever do meet someone else they will never compare to you, and if you meet someone else know that they will never deserve you. I’ll never forget you”
“Sounds like they’re a psychopath,” Tokoyami deadpanned.
“You make me smile and laugh every day and I know that underneath that cold exterior is someone who really is an amazing person. (By the way you should probably know that I’m crying as I write this) I know that there’s a good chance you’re straight, and that you’ll probably just flat out reject me, but at least I know I tried. I’ll always remember you Katsuki.”
“WHO’S IT FROM?” Jirou demanded.
“Love, Kirishima Eijirou.”
That’s when all hell broke loose. Mina and Midoriya marched over to Aoyama looking like they were out for blood. Jirou and Yaoyorozu were staring at Bakugou who’s face had turned an impossible shade of red and looked like he was about to blow up the entire room. Todoroki and Tokoyami were smirking in their seats while Kaminari and Sero were cackling on the classroom floor. The rest of the students all had their mouths open not knowing what to do or say. And Kirishima… Kirishima stood up from his seat with large fat tears rolling down his cheeks and made a beeline for the door.
The redhead bolted out of the classroom, but as he got to the door, he crashed straight into a very tired looking Aizawa.
“What’s the problem Kirishima?” the teacher asked seriously after seeing the boy’s tears.
“N-Nothing Sensei, I just have to go,” and with that he sprinted down the hallway.
When Aizawa actually entered his classroom he was shocked at what he saw. Midoriya and Ashido had Aoyama pinned up against a wall. Mineta was tied up with tape and had his mouth taped shut. Kaminari and Sero were on the ground laughing so hard that they couldn’t breathe and there were tears coming out of their eyes. Iida and Uraraka were trying to get everyone to calm down while most kids were just staring on. Yaoyorozu, Jirou, and Hagakure were all whispering together. And Bakugou had his face in his palms, but all the way down to his neck was a bright red color and he seem mortified.
“Attention,” the teacher yelled, and the whole class turned to him with shocked expressions.
“What on Earth happened here. I come to class ten minutes late and it looks like there has been a villain attack gone on? Anyone want to tell me what happened”
Nobody said a word.
“Fine then, don’t. Just take your seats and let’s start this lesson. You’re lucky I’m tired or you would all be getting expelled today, you hear me?”
Everyone sat down. Bakugou huffed, today was going to be a long day.
