Chapter Text
Olympus hadn’t changed over the years. In fact, it seemed to have become even more the same over time. It was a little maddening. So, Katsuki liked to mix things up once in a while.
Today, his mayhem of choice was singing songs with sightly wrong words. Such as his version of Dancing Queen by ABBA.
“ Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tangerine ”
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Muses looking slightly annoyed. Mainly because he was messing up one of their favorite songs, but also because he wasn’t even singing it badly, so it felt more messed up than it should.
“ See that girl
Watch that scream
Kickin the dancing queen ”
After he sang those words, Terpsichore came forward with a glare gracing her face. “What are you doing?” A single hand was on her hip, the other flowing down, meaning part of her flowy not-sleeve arm dangle was hitting the ground.
“I am just singing.”
The dance goddess did not look pleased. “You know what I mean.”
“Katsuki. Come here.” called Athena from a dozen or so meters away. She had chosen a grey peplos today that flowed onto the ground around her feet like a river.
Terpsichore rolled her eyes, hmphed and walked away, joining her sisters as they all started chirping at each other in a manner deserving of a group schoolgirls.
“Am I in trouble or something?” asked Katsuki as he approached his mana.
The woman chuckled but shook her head. “No, no. I just wanted to talk.”
“Okay…” cautioned Katsuki.
Athena indicated for Katsuki to come with her as she walked towards her home. It was a simple house that had an owl living in the main room, Sofos she named it.
“Sit down, have some tea.” Athena walked over to her kitchen and prepared a cup of tea for herself, she offered some to Katsuki, who took it with some reluctance. “So,” she said as she sat down on the chair across from Katsuki, “Ei’s birthday is coming up, isn’t it? That means we have another special day coming up.”
Right. Katsuki was 20 already, meaning that the day he stops aging was fast approaching.
“You have 10 days I believe. Hopefully you are ready.” Athena said before taking a slow sip of her steaming tea.
Katsuki knew that he was ready. Technically he was already immortal, so what was this going to do that he hadn’t experienced.
The goddess seemed to already know what the young man was thinking. “Don’t think that this will have no change on you. Your whole life you have always been changing and you see it in the mirror everyday. In a few days, you will no longer change.”
That did sound a little daunting, but Katsuki had faith in his heart that he would be fine so long as his husband was with him through it.
The ten days passed by as fast as Hermes on an express run. The mortal world celebrated Red Riot’s birthday in a magnificent manner. The couple passed hundreds of people wearing Red Riot merch and the redhead got tons of “happy birthday’s”. They also had several people who bowed around them, a thing that has become more common as time went on.
Today was the day they were to stop aging forever, so they had to go over and pick up the other godly couple, who had gotten married last month.
Katsuki liked to brag about the fact that the other pair was not Aphrodite blessed.
“Hey, Kacchan!” called Deku from his front steps. He was wearing his traditional chiton, the same style as what he wore when he became a god, it’s green was not glowing as much since they were in the mortal world.
Behind Izuku was his husband, who had become a heartthrob hero over the years. He had kept his boyish looks just like Katsuki had, except he had grown out his hair to a crazy length. Currently it was up in a braided crown, no doubt Izuku’s doing.
When they had stepped forward, Deku took Katsuki up in a crushing hug. Sadly, the determined god hadn’t learned that his extra strength and muscle is stronger than his old shrimpy self.
“Ow!” cried out Katsuki. The god hadn’t cried out from pain, no, he was doing the same training he had done with Eijirou. Since the two aren’t around mortals as much they have started to become a little damaging with their hugs. Specifically, Eijirou had given Denki a bruise all the way around his body. So now Katsuki trains his husband and best friend about when they are being too strong.
“Shoot!” Deku loosened his grip on Katsuki then let go.
Katsuki smiled at his friend, “It’s no problem, nerd, just maybe don’t go in with full strength.”
“God of reincarnations and teacher of proper hugging. Such a powerful immortal.” deadpanned Shouto.
All Katsuki gave Shouto was a little glare before he went inside the house. It was very cozy, it had lots of photos of the masters of the house and their puppy, Daisuke. She was a little mixed breed who had a hyper personality and loved Katsuki with all her tiny heart.
“Hey, girl. How’s my favorite girl?” Katsuki rubbed the puppy's ears as he talked in that voice all people use on their pets. “Did you scare those squirrels? I bet you did!”
“A part of me thinks we need to get a dog of our own soon.” Katsuki heard Eijirou state from behind him. “I swear he loves that dog more than he loves me.”
Hearing this, Katsuki gave Daisuke one last pet before standing and going over to his husband. Katsuki wrapped one arm over Eijirous stomach, placed his head on his shoulder, then started stroking Eijirou’s red hair. “I think you might be a little jealous of a goddamn puppy.” he teased.
Eijirou made a sound of protest, but otherwise stayed silent and enjoyed the pets.
“As sweet as this is,” all four boys eyes darted to where Athena, Hera, Persephone and Apollo were standing in the living room, “we need to get moving. The deities are getting mighty anxious for the celebration to start.”
With that, the gods all transported up to Mount Olympus. It was still very fancy and powerful, but now it had lots and lots of decorations and people celebrating in the streets.
The four gods noticed that they were on their own, no godly parent to lead the way.
Katsuki threw back his shoulders, put on a tough face, and said, “Well, lets get a fucking move on. Time to become a real god.”
Soon the four gods were pushing through the crowds of deities, all trying to catch a glimpse of the big four. According to Athena, it was a big deal that they were doing this since they were the first reincarnations to ever become gods and that the youngest god was still quite a few thousand years old, so a new face being added among them was something everyone needed at this point.
The group had not been given directions, but he knew in his heart that this was the right way. He made sure to hold Eijirou’s hand the entire time as they finally made it to the Olympian’s, who were standing 6 on one side and six on the other, plus Persephone who was standing beside her husband.
When they made it through the intimidating path created for them to walk, they stood and turned to the gods and goddesses.
Zeus walked forward and held out his arms in a dramatic and grandiose way. “Welcome, you four, to our world. From this moment on you will cease to age and will inherit the full capabilities of your powers.” The man, along with the others chanted words in an old and powerful language.
As they continued to speak, Katsuki noticed that he could slowly understand more and more of what they were saying.
“-Welcome to the world of eternal dawns. Step into this new world with eyes reborn.”
The world went black.
Suddenly there was a light that spread through Katsuki’s entirety, warming him up in his soul. He felt like he could fly to the moon and back in an instant.
The world seemed the same when he opened his eyes. There were no new things he could see, nothing that wasn’t there before.
“Woah, Kat, your eyes!”exclaimed Eijirou.
When Katsuki turned, he saw that Eijirou’s own eyes were shining bright red, like two rubies in the sun. Upon closer inspection, he saw that the eyes also had a ring of gold inside them, most likely a nod to Apollo.
“What do mine look like?” The moment Katsuki got the words out, Aphrodite handed him a golden mirror.
Katsuki could barely believe his eyes. They were shining bright with a silver glow, a rose illuminated by moonlight. If Katsuki had less brain cells in his head, he would have tried to touch his eyes to make sure they were real.
“Woah.”
Eijirou wrapped himself around Katsuki so they could both see into the mirror. The younger god reached his hand up towards his face and…
“Don’t do that, stupid. You’ll poke your eye out or somethin’.” Katsuki pushed Eijirou’s hand away from his eye, preventing a massacre of pain for the redhead.
Suddenly the group was enveloped by a cacophony of cheers and applause. Apparently Dionysus had informed the masses of Olympus about the new gods being fully integrated, and so a party was started.
There were congratulations and lots of commentary from everyone, all of them trying to be around the Big 4.
Eventually, Katsuki convinced Shouto to make copies of the four that would stand, smile and listen to the deities so they could get away. Katsuki knew that the diversion would only last a few minutes, but that would be enough time to put some distance between themselves and the party.
Katsuki and Eijirou split off from Izuku and Shouto so they could get some alone time. Without caring about where they wer going, the two went off in some direction that lead them away from the main celebration and all it’s chaos. They walked down perfectly designed paths that were surrounded with perfect landsculpting and had plenty of wildlife to view.
At some point, the couple ended up at the edge of Olympus. It was a special place meant to give the deities a place to look upon the mortal world. Next to it was an elevator that can take people to the Underworld. This was necessary because one, Hades was a dramatic man who thought the elevator was more classy than going “poof”; and two, because you can’t go to a different gods territory unless you have been there before. So while SHouto can bounce around from domain to domain of the three brother kings, Katsuki could only go through Poseidon and Zues’ territories since he was born on one and has become a regular in the other. The moment Hades lets him into his territory though, heh, Katsuki will never have to worry about transportation again.
The two sat on the edge of Olympus, feet dangling freely some immeasurable height above the earth below them.
“You know, Katsuki,” Eijirou said as he rested his head on Katsuki’s head, “I’m really glad I asked you to train with me during the first year. It gave me the greatest adventure ever.”
“Oh, Ei. That’s so fucking sappy.” Katsuki chuckled and looked out at the never ending sky before them. “I’m also glad you decided to befriend me despite my protests. You got something wrong though.”
“Hmm?”
Katsuki smiled and moved so the two were looking into each others glowing eyes.
“Our adventures have only just begun.”
