Kenma blinked. “…Why?”
The question was simple. Genuine.
“Because,” he said evenly, “If we were on the same side, I’d adjust before you asked. I’d cover for you even when you don’t need it.”
He didn’t look embarrassed saying it. “I’d probably overprotect you on receive,” Akaashi added. “And ignore better options. I’d give you everything before you had to calculate it.”
After our favorite third years graduated, Kenma and Akaashi are left to navigate the gaps they left behind. Thrown together by chance during a team spying missions, the two discover that maybe being “left behind” isn’t so bad when you have someone who just… gets it.
