Chapter Text

“If Yuuri can get Victor to date him then you can go to school!”

A strange but effective pep talk Shouto thinks.

“Dad that’s different! Yuuri was drunk and had a LOT of confidence and Victor fell in love with him there and then. I am not going to fall in love with high school.”

She wasn’t wrong.

“You can do this. Yuma goes there and Taigen is coming with you. Yuma will kick anyone ass if they’re mean to you or Taigen. Harry Potter was on the way to defeating the dark lord at this age. You just have to go to school and meet some new friends.”

Trust his nerd of a husband to give a pep talk to an equally nerdy teenager. Granted Shouto had used a quote from Star Wars the other day when trying to be inspiring. His phone buzzed.

The fam: 8:01 am Wednesday 1st September

Square dad: We have left the house and on our way
to pick up Miyuki. We shall be there shortly.

Green dad: Okie Dokie

“See you are even going to school with Taigen. You will be fine.”

“But Daaaaaaaad!”

“Listen to your dad Miyuki!” Shuto yelled out.

“But Paaaaaaaaaaaa!”

“Don’t you ‘but papa’ me. Some of my best memories were in high school.”

He heard her groan loudly.

“Don’t tell me. You met dad and fell in love and got married. Blah Blah Blah. I don’t want to fall in love, I don’t want to deal with people there.”

Shouto heard Izuku laughing.

“I met your dad in a nightclub. Not at school. The first time we met we were both drunk and my god was it sloppy.”

Miyuki let out a screech. Running from her room and still loudly yelling. Her ears covered, white hair trailing behind her. Izuku followed head thrown back in laughter. Her eyes were screwed uptight, still yelling loudly.

Shouto nuzzled his nose into the crook of Izuku’s neck. He didn’t smell like he once did. Shouto could now smell his own families scent but not Izuku’s. It was strange he would admit.

“Miyuki! You can stop now.”

“I can’t hear you! LA LA LA LA!”

Shouto sighed and covered his daughter’s mouth. Muffling her yelling.

“Miyuki Todoroki, remember I’m the youngest of four. Licking my hand will do nothing.”

Her eyes opened back up, grey hidden by her green fringe. He supposed the multicoloured hair came from his side of the family.

“Now, your aunt and uncle are gonna be here soon. Momo and Kyoka said good luck and Seira almost made me deaf. He wanted me to tell you that he can sleep without a night light on anymore.”

He felt her giggle under his hand.

“Now. If Seira is determined enough to face the thing he’s scared of and I can sit through a complete Star Wars movie marathon and watching all of the Harry Potter movies with your father-“

“Hey!”

“You can go to school.”

Her eyes cast down. Shouto removed his hand from her face. She let out a sigh.

“Fine. But I’m not going to like it.” She folded her arms.

Shouto smiled and ruffled her hair.

“Good now go get changed. Hurry up.”

She ran back down the hallway. Door slamming behind her when she reached her room.

“Miyuki!” Izuku called out.

A muffled sorry was her reply. His husband gave out a sigh. Hand rubbing at the bridge of his nose.

“I will admit maybe I did spoil her a bit too much as a kid.”

Shouto laughed. Laying his head on his shoulder.

“I think you did. I told you you’d regret it later. Even Inko and my mum told you. She’s stupidly stubborn like you as well. So you created a monster.”

He let out another groan. Hanging his green head in shame. Shouto frowned at the fading green of his hair. It wasn’t silver or grey, just faded. He could never tell if his hair was losing colour. The white made it difficult and Miyuki never wanted to be mean unless she was teasing him. Izuku never would say and kiss him senseless until the question was forgotten.

“Well she’s not as bad as Yuma and Akiko I suppose.”

Izuku gave him a small look. The Bakugou children were spoilt and stuck up. Yet kind-hearted and protective. Akiko had screamed at the top of her lungs when a little girl had taken Miyuki’s toy. Yuma had crash tackled a kid when Taigen was pushed off a climbing frame. Bakugou has cheered on his children while Eijirou has panicked about the parents. Shouto had gathered up Akiko and Miyuki like footballs. Tenya had grabbed Yuma and Taigen and they both hauled ass to the cars. Ochako had followed laughing, Eijirou had bolted over in a panic, avoiding the angry parents. Katsuki death glared the parents while Izuku walked normally over. Momo and Kyoka sighed loudly as Seira mimicked Akiko’s screaming.

“They’re not that bad, babe.”

He hugged him properly. Missing his smaller frame from when they first met in that sweaty club. They were 40, well Izuku was. Their bodies were starting to degrade. Izuku held his muscle from his police work, but his hair was fading. He had smile lines forming but Shouto never looked at him differently.

Sure he missed the brighter hair and smaller frame. Yet Izuku was still beautiful. Freckles galore that he passed onto their daughter. His undercut was always wild and tangled. A dazzling smile that could light up a room in a blackout.

Shouto had been falling for twenty years almost. Not to his surprise, he had been falling deeper and deeper in love with him.

Miyuki wiggled in between them. Wrinkling her white blouse. The grey blazer dangling from her hands.

“Hi, dad. Hi papa.” She beamed.

Shouto placed his chin on her head and squeezed a little tighter.

“My baby, all ready to go to high school. Stop growing. I want you to be my little girl again with her hair in a ponytail because she doesn’t like pigs.”

Izuku laughed and Miyuki grumbled.

“Or when she wouldn’t go to bed without telling her a unicorn story.”

“Daaaadd!”

They both laughed and pressed kisses against her cheeks. She grabbed hold of their heads to pull them closer.

The moment was interrupted by and knocking on the door. Taigen strolling in with their parents in tow.

“Hello, not my real uncles.”

The teen hugged them, squishing Miyuki. She protested loudly as the rest of the Tenya family joined in.

“Naw, Miyuki. Did you get sad cause you’re leaving your dads?” Ochako teased
gently.

The girl’s response was an angry grumble. Taigen laughed.

“She doesn’t want to go to high school. It’s dumb.” Izuku giggled.

They broke apart from the hug and Miyuki sighed.

“Shut up. You guys are all mean.”

“We love you Miyuki.” Taigen threw their arm around Miyuki’s shoulder.

Shouto held Izuku’s hand tightly. This was it, Miyuki’s final moments in high school. She was bouncing on her heels dressed completely in the black gown. A pair of red and blue converse peeking out from the hem.

Akiko, Yuma and Seira cheered her on loudly. Taigen had already collected their diploma and was clapping and cheering for the girl. Brown hair moving widely as they wolf whistled.

“Shouto. Our baby’s all grown up.” Izuku sobbed. Curling into his shirt, soaking it with his tears.

Shouto smiled at his husband. Who was recovering more than a few weird looks. His hair was greying and muscles bulging and was crying into a man who was shorter than him. He swore someone whispered about him being the chief of police, which he was.

“Babe, people are looking.”

“I don’t care.” He sobbed. “that’s my little baby girl.” And she’s all grown up now. ‘M allowed to cry.”

“You are not crying Izuku. You are full-on sobbing.”

“Yeah Deku. Dad said you were tough.” Yuma teased. Knocking him gently with his elbow.

Izuku wiped at his eyes.

“You are an adult I can kick your sorry ass.”

Yuma threw his head back and laughed. His blonde hair falling back from his forehead.

“As if you could old man.”

The names of the other classmates were read out and everyone was rewarded theirs. Miyuki came bounding over to Shouto. Hugging him tightly around the middle. Then hugging Izuku. Her hair had come undone from the pretty braided bun they had spent almost an hour this morning. Fuyumi was the superior braider but she was currently overseas. She had cried when she found out she would be away for Miyuki’s graduation.

“Congrats Kiddo.” Dabi walked over and ruffled her hair. mAking the remaining strands fall from it.

She laughed and shook out the remaining hair. Shouto let go of her and she hugged her uncle. Shouto’s oldest brother laughed. Pulling her closer in his scared arms.

“Watch it. I’m not as young as I once was. Also, Keigo said he wanted to be here but work y’know. Retirement isn’t what it once was.”

Miyuki laughed. “Uncle Dabi you’re only fifty-two.”

“I’m fucking old. I can tell you that.”

Yuma snickered while Akiko elbowed her brother in the side.

“Really Dabi. Seria is here.” Izuku pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Izuku, I’m ten. Besides Mama says it all the time when she’s mad.”

“It still does not give him the right to say it front of you. He’s old, he should know better.”

Both the Bakugou siblings let out a ‘daymn’. Shouto laughed loudly at his husband’s response. Miyuki hugged her uncle tighter.

“Leave uncle Dabi alone. I still love him.”

Dabi pouted and hugged her closer. “SHouto, I’m stealing your child. Seeing as she obviously loves me more than you do. Control your husband.”

They all laughed while Izuku frowned.

“No ice-cream for anyone. Wait, just Akiko. She hasn’t been mean to me at all.”

They all groaned. Putting on their best innocent faces. Akiko just poked her tongue out and danced on the spot. Shouto tried his best puppy eyes as well. He was a grown man, of course, he needed his husband to buy him ice-cream still.

“Why are we not getting ice-cream?” Taigen bounded over, parents in tow

“Because everyone was mean to Deku but me.” Akiko flicked her hair. There wasn’t much effect due to the shortness of it.

Iida frowned. His hand starting in the familiar chopping motion all of the kids had seen over time. Usually when they were in trouble.

“You should be nicer to Izuku. It’s not a good example to be setting for Seria.”

A chorus of “Dabi started it’ rang out. The older man spluttered. Waving his arms across his body and scrabbling for an excuse.

“Dabi Todoroki, you should know better.”

Ochako laughed as her husband scolded him.

“Now I’ll be nice. Deku can but Akiko and himself icecream while I’ll buy everyone else ice-cream.

They cheered.

Shouto smiled and felt Izuku slip his hand into hs as they made their way back to their car. Watching the kids piled into different ones.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Shouto had definitely enjoyed being older much more than he enjoyed being younger. His family was massive with never a dull moment. He had one biological child and four, not biological children that weren’t his. His family was back together again all living happily. His husband was one of the most beautiful things on earth and he loved him unconditionally.

To think it had all started when he had woken up by laughter and millions of anime posters stuck to the wall.

This was most definetly Shouto’s home.
