Chapter Text
“We have Tuna sandwich for breakfast the next day,” Jungkook says, “And roasted lambs for dinner. Couldn’t finish everything so we eat the same thing the day after.”
Taehyung chuckles, “And oh do I miss his tuna sandwich. Could probably live my whole life with just that and the fruit salads.”
Yoongi stirs up after his short naps, whimpering at the coldness of the room. But quickly feels happy and contented again once Taehyung continues to rub his back. The baby lets out a small yawn while rubbing his eyes, “Story done?”
“Yes, kitten,” the tiger confirms, “we even talked about your Tuna sandwich, your love towards rain and you favorite evening soaked!”
Yoongi lightly gasps. His perpetual pout becomes more prominent, “Yoonie wants to talk about that as well.”
“Well, we could talk about so many different things if you want, baby boy,” Jungkook reaches out and carries Yoongi to sit on his laps. He tugs a strand of his raven black hair behind the kitten’s ears, “Do you want to talk about anything else?”
Yoongi would not answer that question, simply because he is too shy to initiate anything first. And if Taehyung and Jungkook look at you, you had better quickly come up with a question to take away that sad pout from Yoongi’s pretty lips.
Something should catch your attention if you look properly, the beautiful diamond ring on Yoongi’s fourth finger is a good conversation starter. And if you decide to talk about that, Jungkook and Taehyung would actually thank you for being such a good observer.
“It’s an engagement ring,” Taehyung will be the first one to answer, “it took Jungkook and I forever to decide which one to get, especially when we have such a different taste when it comes to fashion and jewelry.”
Jungkook smiles, “do you want to talk about that, baby?”
Yoongi nods slightly against Jungkook’s shoulder. The bunny then turns him around and the smallest will greet you with a beautiful blush on his otherwise pale cheeks, “Taetae and Bunbun proposed three months ago and—and it was raining that day. Yoonie is very happy.”
(“But Gukkie, I like the other one better,” Taehyung protests as he points on a yellow gold ring with a diamond on it, “the one you choose is so bland.”
“But don’t you think white looks better on Yoonie?” Jungkook counters, still holding the white gold ring on his hand.
Jungkook and Taehyung have been debating for a good one hour on which engagement ring to get. Their baby has very pretty and delicate fingers. Logically, it will be easy for them to choose one because in the end of the day, it will obviously look good on Yoongi’s hand. But the bunny’s and tiger’s different taste in fashion and what makes Yoongi looks pretty, forbid them to come to one conclusion.
Taehyung is very excited for the new arrival 3.5 carat diamond ring with two layers of yellow gold bands. The tiger argues that ring like this is what in trend right now. On the other hand, the bunny, Jeon Jungkook, wants a simple and classic white gold diamond ring that he argues will look the best on Yoongi’s pale finger.
“But, bunny, isn’t it too bland? There is nothing special about it,” Taehyung says, “I mean, yeah, it is special because it comes from us. But shape wise, it is not interesting at all.”
“It does not have to be interesting, tiger,” Jungkook argues, “I just think that Yoongi will like those, you know, textbook engagement proposal—with simple ring and flowers. He always talks about this fairytale like forest wedding venue.”
Taehyung snorts, “that’s for later, baby. Now, we just have to focus on the proposal and then we can think about the wedding and for me,” he pauses, “I still think this yellow gold one looks better.”
“Don’t you think it is kinda too big?” Jungkook questions, “I mean, yes, baby has pretty long and petite fingers, but Yoongi is small in general. Shouldn’t we choose something more delicate; something more Yoongi-like?”
Taehyung actually contemplates his decision. It is true that what actually catches his attention is the beautiful diamond, but he should have thought about the meaning of the engagement ring more and think about Yoongi as he chooses one.
“Alright,” the tiger sighs, “but the one you choose is too bland as well. I think it is too simple to Yoongi’s liking. Should we look around for another one?”
It is after nine equally pretty engagement rings that the bunny and tiger finally, finally, fall in love with the same one. They decide to stick with Jungkook white gold band, but choose a two-layer ring to fit the trend. In the middle, rests a beautiful three carat diamond (to which the two argue is neither too big or two small) and next to it, are two smaller ones.
“Do you think baby will like it?” Jungkook asks as they wait for the shop owner to carve three special letters on the ring. The letter J, K and Y.
Taehyung leans in to kiss his boyfriend on his temple, “he will,” the tiger answers, “first, because it is from us. And second, because we actually put our thoughts and think about baby before purchasing it. I know you are nervous, Gukkie. But it is going to be alright.”
“Thank you, Tae,” the bunny smiles, “I can’t wait to see Yoonie’s reaction when we pull out the ring for him.”
“Should we bet, Guk?” Taehyung offers, “that baby is probably going to be more excited with the rare candles and bath bomb we get him yesterday and also that huge teddy bear, than the ring or the fact that he is going to be engaged to us?”
“You are basically asking me to bet on something that I have known I will lose,” the younger chuckles, “I really couldn’t wait for the day. I hope it rains, Tae.”
“Me too, Gukkie. I hope it rains that day as well.”
It rains.
It rains very heavily on the night Jungkook and Taehyung are going to propose to the love of their lives, Min Yoongi.
The two are very nervous as there is only fifteen minutes left until Yoongi comes back home with Seokjin hyung. But so far, everything is very well organized, thanks to Jungkook’s perfectionist behavior and their friends’ helps.
Yes, Taehyung and Jungkook have invited their friends over and by friends they mean; Park Jimin and his boyfriend, Kim Namjoon, and Jung Hoseok, the computer man. These names are the names of the people Yoongi cherishes very dearly; Jimin and Namjoon being his best friends, who often accompany him when he works in the flower shop and Hoseok who Yoongi quickly learns after that incident as his savior. And finally, to add to that small guest list, is Kim Seokjin.
“I don’t know why they are so worried about this, Joonie,” Jimin deadpans and continues with a teasing tone, “worst case scenario will be Yoonie saying no to the proposal. I mean I would if I were him.”
“Jiminie,” Namjoon scolds lightly.
“You know, Park Jimin,” Jungkook says, “there is a reason why I didn’t like you and still don’t like you.”
“If you don’t like me, I wouldn’t even be here, Jeon Jungkook,” the black-belt Taekwondo holder counters, “Oh, you are so soft bunny boy.”
“Oh please, Jiminie,” Namjoon rolls his eyes, “let me tell you, he is so paranoid when you two invited me and not him and he almost cried. Like, I think he actually cried when he got the invitation message from Taehyung.”
“Kim Namjoon, you—”
Jungkook’s and Taehyung’s lips quirk up to create evil smirks; poor Park Jimin being exposed by his own boyfriend. But just when the bunny and the tiger taste the victory of Namjoon teasing Jimin, Jungkook’s phone lights up with a new text message.
Seokjin : We are almost there. Yoongi is very excited for the dinner. Sorry for the wait, he insisted on stopping by a bakery to get Taehyung his favorite strawberry cakes.
If Jungkook has the time, he would be cooing right now. But no, Yoongi and Seokjin are probably five minutes away and they have to hide right now. With a, “please go hide,” from the bunny, everyone moves to hide in their own designated spots.
Even before Yoongi makes his appearance inside the house, Jungkook and Taehyung could already hear their baby excited voice and his small tiny giggles from behind the door. They catch their baby asking his hyung whether he like fishing or not, in which Seokjin answers with a yes, and proceeds with Yoongi inviting the elder to a fishing trip with the two of them.
When the door opens, faint streetlight shines through the otherwise dark room, Jungkook and Taehyung hear Yoongi lets out a small, “Eung?” the cutest. The baby must be expecting the house to be filled with tasty meals and pretty flower decorations from his shop.
“hyung,” Yoongi turns around. Seokjin has just stepped inside after leaving the umbrella they share by the doorstep, “hyung, I think we enter the wrong house. We should leave now.”
Seokjin chuckles, “no, Yoongi. We do not enter the wrong house.”
“But, but Gukkie and Taetae say they are cooking and we will be having a big meal tonight. They also say they invited Jiminie and Joonie over. Even Seokie takes a break from work to come,” Yoongi announces, “they—they forgot?”
“No, Yoongi. See?” at the flick of a switch, the lights are on.
Yoongi’s mouth drops open and his eyes widen as he sees what is sitting on the floor in front of him. It is a huge brown teddy bear, dressed with a pastel pink sweater and the fluffy clothing looks exactly like the one he has. And around teddy are numerous boxes in different shapes and sizes, wrapped to perfection with pastel colored gift wraps.
This is a surprise and it is no regular surprise. This is a surprise for him, for Yoongi.
The kitten reaches out for the Teddy and pets her. Another train of soft giggles leave his lips when the soft fur brushes through Yoongi’s soft skin. “She is so soft,” the baby whispers.
But then, Yoongi quickly realizes; what is the occasion? Is it Taetae and Gukkie who bought him these gifts? But why? His birthday has passed and it is nowhere near Christmas?
The baby is lucky that all of his questions will be answered right now.
The Park and Kim couple hop out of their hiding place and walk towards Yoongi with a flower crown and a bouquet of flowers on their hands. Yoongi who is sitting on his knees, legs spread open a little, watches with tears as his friends slowly approach him.
Jimin places the colorful flower crown on Yoongi’s head and says, “Congratulation, Yoonie baby,” and continues to walk towards Seokjin. When it is Namjoon’s turn, the taller gives Yoongi a bouquet of pink and white carnations, “Be happy, love one.”
The baby looks at the flower in awe, and just when he thought it is the end, he sees Hoseok coming out from behind the bathroom door. The computer man smiles as he notices how teary Yoongi has become even though the real event has barely started. Hoseok crouches down and wipes the baby’s tears away. He gently reaches out for Yoongi’s hand and open his palm, “this is a lifetime gift card for that one bath bomb shop you love very much. Don’t tell anyone how you get it, okay?”
Yoongi thought it is finally Jungkook’s and Taehyung’s turns to come out from their hiding place. But he is proven wrong when Seokjin steps out with an old and rusty paper on his hands. It is Yoongi’s favorite piece, Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy, and what Seokjin has just given him is the first edition of the music sheets.
“Thank you,” Yoongi announces. His kitten like eyes begin to tear again, “Thank you so much, everyone.”
Yoongi’s happiness that night reaches its peak when he sees his two boyfriends slowly approach him with a furry white box on one of their hand. This really is Yoongi’s surprise.
“Hey, baby,” Taehyung is the first one to call, “I hope you enjoy all this little gift from Jungkook and I, and from your friends too.”
At this point, Yoongi couldn’t even trust his own voice anymore. He knows if he tries to speak, he will end up bursting into tears. So, the baby decides to just nod his head.
“There is also a little something from us, love,” the bunny finally says, “the thing we are about to give you is nothing much compares to the meaning behind it. So, we hope, Taetae and I hope that you are ready.”
Taehyung walks behind Yoongi and carries the smaller up to stand on his two feet. He snakes his arms around his middle and buries his chin on top of Yoongi’s hair, while Jungkook step in front of him, gets into his knees, and opens the white fluffy box.
Yoongi does not even have the time to admire the beautiful diamond ring resting inside the box, when he hears his bunny and tiger asking one same question, “Min Yoongi, to our smallest, kindest, and most beautiful kitten, will you marry us?”
There is a long pregnant silence before the room is filled with Yoongi’s soft sniffles, “Bunbun and Tiger do this and—and all I do is buy strawberry cakes. And Yoonie does not even do anything that much, Gukkie and Taetae always help Yoonie with everything; you prepare the evening soaked, drive me back home, take care of me when I am sick, bunbun and tiger are Yoonie’s tallest, kindest, most amazing boyfriends.”
“Kitten,” Taehyung whispers as he tightens his arms around the smaller.
“Yoonie will be the happiest person in the world if I can call not only Kim Taehyung but also Jeon Jungkook, Yoonie’s future husband,” Yoongi stutters. He knows he probably looks very bad right now, with his snot and tear, but it doesn’t matter when he has such an important question to answer.
“Yes, Gukkie and Taetae. Yoonie will be more than happy to marry you.”
Cheers explode behind them as Taehyung quickly turns Yoongi around and kisses him square on his lips. The tiger cups his boyfriend’s teary face with his palm as he presses closer and Yoongi seems to get the message as he parts his lips a little so Taehyung can slip his tongue inside.
“Bunbun, come here,” Yoongi demands.
Pulling back from Taehyung’s lips, the kitten stands on his tiptoes and reaches for his bunny’s. Jungkook’s kisses are always more calming, not as rushed as Taehyung, but it still produces the same effect on the kitten and for now, it is happiness.
Jungkook finally takes the engagement ring out of the box, gently reaches out for Yoongi’s left hand and slides the ring into his fourth finger.
“Very pretty,” Yoongi whispers as he stares at the new ornaments around his finger. This ring is a promise and Yoongi just wants to keep it with him forever.
“Now, for final touchdown,” Taehyung smirks before he swipes Yoongi away from the floor and carries the kitten on his arms, “to the rain!”
The moment the rain touches Yoongi’s skin, the smallest could not help but starts to cry again, of course out of happiness. This time doing so while hiding his face on the crook of Taehyung’s neck. Jungkook follows the two, standing in the middle of the rain as he hugs his two lovers.
“Shall we dance, my prince?” the bunny whispers against Yoongi’s ears.
And when Taehyung is sure Yoongi has nodded his head, the tiger lowers him on top of the wet asphalt with his hands reaching for the kitten’s small waist. Jungkook does the same, except that he is hugging Yoongi around his middle.
Just like that, under the rain, tangled together, they dance.
And Yoongi swears he could hear Clair de Lune playing that night.)
The question about the engagement ring will probably be the last question you could ask the three as Jungkook and Taehyung will insist to bring Yoongi home after that. But Yoongi, he always feels guilty whenever he has to leave someone alone, so you can expect a small letter from him several days letter.
And this is how Min Yoongi’s letter usually goes:
To whom it may concern;
This is Yoonie.
I am writing this letter to you to apologize about leaving abruptly that day. I know that you probably have more questions since I basically only talked about the two person that are important to me and I do not even have the chance to talk about Holly and Yeontan. Yoonie only have happy memories with them. Bunbun says that we will be adopting another doggie soon, so Yoonie is really looking forward to it.
Also, after that small engagement surprise, I have bought at least ten bath bombs with Hoseokie’s gift card, has framed the Clair de Lune music sheets and hung it on the practice room. Also, also! Yoonie named the teddy ‘Mini Minmin,’ and she is the fluffiest! As for the flowers, Yoonie tries to keep the flower crown and the bouquet for as long as I can, but unfortunately, they have to go L
I hope this answer some of your further questions. Thank you for having Yoonie, bunbun and tiger over that day. Take care and drink lots of water, alright? Stay at home if you can for now and don’t forget to wash your hand!
Yoonie hopes you are happy.
Love, Yoonie
