Chapter Text
Time skip---- 2 months.
“Put that stupid suit on nerd- you’ve got training.” Katsuki yelled
Izuku groaned- he was grateful. Really he was for all that had happened in the past few months. But this new training really took a toll on him.
He floated across the room- settling himself into the suit and Katsuki pushed a button on the side- causing the frequency to vibrate through him.
His body still felt off but it was his- it was his body and he could use it the way he wanted to.
It was still a prototype- something Hatsume had created in the depths of the UA tech wing. A suit that vibrated at the same frequency that Jiro’s speaker had. Something that stabilized his form enough to cause controllable stability without relying so heavily on emotions.
It still helped- to control it if they were stronger but- it was amazing what she had done.
It was also amazing that they had managed to find a third year with such a power perfect for training with Izuku. Someone who had the ability to phase through matter and had worked
for years to harness it.
Because turns out- Izuku had in fact- always had a quirk. And it wasn't Immortality like Sero had yelled his first day back in class. On the contrary it was something way less interesting.
Izuku had the power to become solid.
Something that to most people was not very convenient because they did not in fact go around in any other state than- solid.
Stupid really- until one gets killed by someone with a quirk capable of extracting your soul and controling it.
Then- then you arent solid anymore and the ability to turn so is a godsend.
Which explained why they haven't found any other ghosts.
This was all just speculative science based on theories of a scientist many had considered a madman until recently- but to Izuku they made perfect sense.
“I never thought I would complain about training again but- this is no easy feat.” Izuku whined- his muscles were sore- even when he didn't technically have muscles- they were sore and he thought it was totally unfair that ghosts- could have muscle fatigue.
Katsuki laughed at him- reaching out to place a hand on his cheek.
“ shut up nerd- least you’re not dead anymore.” he teased- eyes still sparkling as he smiled down at him.
“I mean--” Izuku started to argue- but was cut off by a quick peck to his lips.
“Okay fine- you win, you win.” he said, pressing his lips back against his boyfriends.
“I’ll see you after?” he asked- and Katsuki nodded in reply.
It wasn't perfect.
They were still making modifications to his suit to allow him to stay in it longer- and who knows maybe by graduation he would have better control of slipping in and out of reality.
All he knew was0 in the past few weeks- his friend had turned into his boyfriend- his mother had regained her son- and he- got his life back.
He didn't think he could ask for much more than that.
And maybe he was a bit rougher around the edges at the end- he had blood on his hands. And for all intents and purposes- he was still- dead.
But they could deal with that when they came to it.
because - he wasn't so alone anymore.
And because.
That's what heroes do.
