Chapter Text
"Find him you insolent fools!" the kings voice filled the palace, sounds of hundreds and thousands of foots steps could be heard stampeding throughout. Hurried whispers and curses left the servants lips as the king stiffly leaned back on his throne. His back stiff and shoulders tense as his eyes stared forward at the open area that was once filled with servants and guards, now empty.
"Jeonha, if I may." one of his most trusted advisors leaned down slightly to speak with him, "Why dont we sent those knights to go and find him." Jiwon suggested as he waited for his king to reply. King Bang frowned and squinted his eyes, mulling over the suggestion that was pitched to him.
"And what good can they do, are they still not in training? Those, Hwarang." he scoffed, "Will they be of any use to me at this time?"
"Jeonha, if I may be blunt with you," Jiwoo paused when he saw his kings frown grow deeper, "If I am not mistaken those men seem to be good friends with the prince. They have been with him since he was young." Jiwoo's eyes moved from the king to the empty throne room, his gaze following a servant who ran from one direction to another, in search for the missing prince he would assume. "If Wangseja Yoongi were to have left the palace himself, I do believe they would know where he would have gone." A growl left the kinds throat as he lifted a hand to dismiss his advisor.
"Do what you must to find him, make sure that he is brought back to the palace as soon as possible. God forbid if this was an attack and kidnapping from the neighboring kingdom..." Jiwoo nodded and bowed deeply before excusing himself. King Bang grunted at his advisor left his side, his chin moving to rest on his right hand. The guards that were around him stood perfectly still at their posts, feeling the stress radiating from their king. This was the first time the Crown Prince, Yoongi had managed to successfully escape the palace. Sure there were other times he had tried to escape, too many to count but the guards in the palace or someone else always caught him and brought him back safely. It was understandable that the King was so worried and angry. The people who were working for him did not notice the Prince escape. Not one, out of all the thousands of servants and guards saw him escape. Which made him more on edge, what if this was a kidnapping from the neighboring kingdom. They haven't been in the best terms and things were leading towards a war between the two. The king had planned for his son to marry the princess of the said kingdom. They wouldn't have tried to do something that would betray his trust. Would they? All he could hope for was for the Crown Prince to be returned home safely and as quick as possible.
"Hya!"
"Urrk! Hyung- wait!"
"Too slow Taehyung!" said boy let out a loud grunt as a foot met with his chest causing him to fall to the ground. Taehyung shut his eyes in pain his grip on his wooden sword not faltering. He raised his arm to swing at his opponent but was shocked when he felt it being smacked out of his hand. Eyes shooing open Taehyung stared directly at the pointed wooded sword that was positioned at his throat before sighing and falling back to the ground with a sound of defeat.
"You should never have your eyes closed while in battle and in such a compromising position, Taehyung. What have I been teaching you?" Taehyung stared up at the open sky above him and gave a small smile when he saw the familiar face of Hoseok appear in his line of vision. Hoseok grinned and held out a hand towards his friend go gratefully took it as he pulled him up to his feet. Taehyung patted his clothes in attempts to get the dirt off from him while glaring at the younger boy who was chuckling at the side lines.
"What, Kook?"
Jungkook snickered as he elbowed Jimin that was beside him, the latter trying not to laugh but failing with the big shit eating grin on his face. "Nothing, nothing." Taehyung pouted as he walked towards them and put his hands on his hips.
"We can be like you Jungkook, all brute strength that can take down a bear." Jungkook smirked and lifted his right arm to flex at Taehyung.
"What can I say, I am pretty strong."
"Pfft." Jungkook's head turned towards Jimin who covered his face with his hands to try and stifle his laughter, "All brawn and no brains, how many times have you fought Namjoon-hyung and lost?" The grin on Jungkooks's face fell as Taehyung started to laugh alongside Jimin.
"It's not my fault Namjoon-hyung is smarter than me!" he put his arm down and started looking between his friends, "I can totally beat him, but he's always one step ahead of me!" Hoseok walked towards the younger boys and smiled at their bickering.
"Now, now. Is this how knights are supposed to act?" he scolded the trio lightly, causing them to stop talking and look to the side with embarrassment. "Everyone has their own strength when fighting, what is important for us to know is how we can all fight fluidly in battle if it were to come to that."
"Yes hyung."
"Sorry Hoseok-hyung..."
"Sorry..."
Hoseok smiled and patted Taehyung and Jimin's shoulders while giving Jungkook a look, "Speaking of fighting, where is Namjoon?"
As if summoned the four of the men saw the familiar face of the leader of their section appear with the kings attendant in tow. Hoseok ushered the three to get into line upon seeing Jiwoo trailing behind Namjoon as they all bowed their heads in respect.
"Hyungnim." Hoseok nodded towards the taller male who stopped in front of the four. Namjoon looked at his friends who raised their head to see what he has to say, Jiwoo standing beside him waiting for him to address them and tell them about the problem.
"Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook." his brow creased and his lips morphed into a frown, "Crown Prince Yoongi has gone missing."
"What!"
"Hyungnim- You- you can't be serious!"
"Are you sure? I mean, what if someone finds him like we always do?!"
"Namjoon-ah, we need to-!"
"Quiet and listen you lot." The boys gaze moved from Namjoon to Jiwoo who was also frowning. Once they calmed down he continued to speak, "What he said is true. Crown Prince Yoongi has gone missing. As of this afternoon he has not been found in his usual places and none of the servants and guards have seen him. As a special request from Jeonha, I have given you five the task of going out into the village and towns in search of him." Jungkook perked up at the mention of leaving the palace which got him a small shove from Jimin. "It is with the utmost importance that none of the villagers know that the Crown Prince is missing as it will cause them to worry." Jiwoo turned to Namjoon and nodded, "
I have told your Captain of the plans and he will relay it to you." Namjoon bowed as Jiwoo made his way out of the training grounds. Once his figure was gone Namjoon was bombarded by his friends.
"Joonie! What- how! Why is Yoongi missing?" Hoseok grabbed his shoulders and started to shake him back and forth.
"He didn't tell us that he would be trying to escape...I wonder what happened..." Jimin glanced at Taehyung who was staring into the distance with worry. Jungkook forced himself between Namjoon and Hoseok and loudly exclaimed.
"Let's get going then! We have to find Yoongi-hyung! He could be hurt!"
Jimin paled, "Or captured..."
"Or worse..." all of them turned to the deep voice of Taehyung, "Causing a scene..." The five of them tensed, Hoseok releasing his grasp on Namjoon and Jungkook taking a step to the side. Namjoon nodded, "We have to hurry."
You grunted as your brother placed down a large load of fabrics on your table causing you to stop sewing and glare up at him. "Oppa... can't you see that my table is filled with so many fabrics already!? Put them over there!" You threw your arm to the right of you angrily gesturing to the empty spot on the floor. Squeaky laughter filled your ear causing you to growl with frustration.
"I wouldn't want to get the expensive fabrics dirty, Gongju~" you sighed loudly and stood up to grab the stack of fabrics and place them in the empty spot. A loud over exaggerated gasp left your bothers lips.
"[Name]! You are dirtying the fabrics! If father saw this-"
"Shut- your mouth, Jin." you plopped back onto the chair you were previously in and gave him the stink eye. "Father won't know, right?"
Jin smiled at you causing your eye to twitch as you ignored how the sun highlighted his handsome face. "Why are you here, bothering me. Aren't you supposed to be in the front flirting with customers to get sales?" Jin walked over to the free chair that was opposite to you and sat down and grinned, leaning forward on his elbows placed firmly on his knees.
"Oh, I am! But I just wanted to check on my little sister, y'know. To see how she is fairing."
You snorted, "Just peachy, thanks for checking. Now go."
Jin clicked his tongue at your rude behaviour but was all but used to it by now, "Now, is that how you speak to your handsome older brother?"
"He won't be so handsome if I decide to stick this needle through his eye, will he?" Jin made a face and leaned back onto the chair, running his fingers though his hair.
"What happened to me cute little sister who would always follow me and say she would marry me once she got older, huh?" He pouted and gave you puppy eyes, clasping his hands together and bringing them to the side of his face. "Ah~ I remember the days." He changed his voice to mimic yours, "Oppa~ You're the most handsomest man! I'm going to marry you when I grow up~ Oppa! I love youu-ack!"
Jin yelled as he saw a pair of flying scissors coming his way and turned to his side to see them embedded in the wall a few inches from where his head was. "Yah! That could of hit me and my handsome face!"
"If I wanted to hit you, I would have. Now, go! father will be angry the longer you stay here. I need to finish this order by tonight or else the customer will be angry!" You wave your hands at your brother shooing him out of your work room.
"Alright, alright." Jin stood up from his spot and walked towards the door, pausing be for exiting and glancing back at your figure, "Don't work too hard, when the day is done we can go and get some sweet rice cake from that shop you love so much." You perked up and smiled to yourself, trying to hide it from Jin's view.
"Fine. Go." Jin shook his head and chuckled when he caught sight of your smile and left the room. You rolled your neck to get the kinks out of them as you repositioned yourself at the table. You had an order of three dressed from one of the nobles in the city and they were expecting to pick them up today but you were already so swamped with all the other orders your father kept giving you. The thought of getting those sweet rice cakes was your only motivation as you continued to stick the expensive fabrics together. Hours passed and the sun was just starting to set once you finished the last dress for the day. A pleased sound left your lips as you stood up from your chair and raised tour arms in a stretch. The soft knock on the door caught your attention as you watched it open to see your brothers head peek in.
"Done?"
You nodded and skipped towards him as he opened the door wide and flung your arms around him. Jin laughed happily as he wrapped his arms around you and rested his head on top of yours. "Are you hugging me because you are happy to see me, or because Im taking you to get rice cakes?" You buried your face in his chest taking in a deep breath and squeezed him tighter.
"Mmm... both. Can we go now oppa?" Jin gave you back a pat and released his hold on you so that the two of you could make your way to the rice cake shop. The town was still busy, people going to food stalls and drinking out. Some of them going to the unsavory part of town for some nightly entertainment and some watching various performers that where on the street. The two of you walked together, you inching closer to him and holding onto the sleeve of his clothes as the crowds started to get thicker. Once you arrived at the rice cake shop you took a seat at the chairs provided outside and waited for him to come back. You watched as people passed you, enjoying the light murmur of people chatting and music playing.
"What are you doing here all alone, sweets?"
You blinked as you head a deep voice whisper in your ear, you turned your head to see who it was but jerked back when you smelled his breath that was inked with alcohol. You stared warily at the man that had helped himself by taking a seat beside you and slinging his arm over your shoulders. "Why don't you join me for a good time tonight?" You tried not to make a face and gave them drunken man a stiff smile.
"Ah, no thank you. I am just waiting for my brother to get back." the man chuckled and leaned closer to you making you pull as far back as you could in his hold.
"Yah, don't be lying to me now." the arm around you tightened and pulled you closer, "Didn't your parents teach you to respect men that are older than you?!" You balked and raised your hands to push at his chest to try and get more distance but failed miserably.
"P-please, I really am waiting for my brother he-"
"Don't take me for a fool, girl. Now, you're going to come with me quietly and not cause a scene and hurrk-!" In a flash the man's grip on you disappeared and you heard a yell and a couple of thumps. You blinked and tried to calm yourself down and turned to see who had saved you. Your jaw dropped in shock as you see your mysterious hero on top of the man, punching at his face continuously. His plain straw hat covers his own face as you see his white top begin to get stained with the other mans blood. A couple of women started screaming at the sight and some men went over to putt the two apart. You feel a hand land on your shoulder, starling you as you grabbed it and twisted it over your shoulder causing the person so yelp in pain.
"Yah! It's me!"
"Jin?" you released you grasp and turned to see Jin hiding his hand in pain as he looked at you with concern.
"What happened? Are you okay?" you nodded stiffly and turned your attention to the fight that has stopped. Some men finally managed to pull your hero off the man and were yelling at him as he ran away. The man that had gotten beaten was lying on the ground as people called for a doctor. Jin followed your gaze and frowned, he grabbed you elbow and pulled you towards him. "Let's go home." not trusting your mouth you nodded and looped your arm through Jin's. The walk back home was quiet as both of you stayed silent, once you arrived back home Jin walked you to your room and bid you good night as he closed the door. You sighed as you leaned your forehead on the closed door of your room, recalling the events that happened tonight. You were really excited to finally eat some sweet rice cake but because of what happened you were unable to. You were thankful for the mystery man who supposedly saved you but you had a feeling he was just as dangerous. Shaking your head to get rid of the thoughts of tonight you reached to undo the ribbon of your top and turned around before freezing when you see a familiar figure sitting on your bed with his stray hat a top his head. Like any normal person you opened your mouth to let out a scream but was quickly silenced when you felt his large warm hands cover your face and pull you against him.
"If you scream, I'll kill you." you tensed at the deep husky voice and shakily nodded your head. The man let go of you as you took a couple steps back to put some distance between the two of you. You stared at the man who had plopped down back onto your bed and was leisurely relaxing s he stared at you. His eyes piercing your skin and you scanned his body. His bloodied top, straw hat on his head. Eyes widened in shock as you stared at his porcelain face, not a blemish to be seen, he was quite handsome except for the scar going down his right eye and cheek. Immediately you knew who he was, a strained sound left your lips as you eyed him warily.
"Crown Prince Yoongi."
