Chapter Text

Had Wei Wuxian asked for a fairytale? Damn right, he did.

But what did life throw at him? Fucking Su Min Shan (Su She).

Fifteen hours ago:

“You made this?” Wu Xian asked, shocked. Wang Ji nodded with an adoring smile.

It had been a month since his sister’s wedding and he had been having a wonderful time getting to know Lan Wang Ji. They had been on three dates and had decided to take their own time exploring each other before taking their relationship to the next step. Other than a few innocent kisses, holding hands and warm embraces, Wei Wu Xian could proudly say that this was the first man that he hadn’t jumped right after the first date.

And now, they were on their fourth date. Wang Ji had invited him over for dinner and it seemed that the man was intent on killing him with sweetness. Literally.

“Lan Zhan! This mooncake is delicious! I haven’t had anything like this before,” he moaned, taking another large bite of the soft delicacy.

“Glad you liked it,” Wang Ji hummed, ears turning red at his boyfriend’s moan.  “Do you want more, Wei Ying?”

“Mn,” he continued to chew. “Maybe later. You’re going to make me all round and fat, Lan Zhan! You’ll have to take responsibility for me!”

“I would want nothing more,” the other man replied, smoothly.

“Aiya! Lan Zhan! Warn a man before you go about spewing such sweetness! You’re going to be the death of me!”

“Will not let Wei Ying die. Will save Wei Ying,” he continued to tease, with a smirk.

“Okay, that’s it! I’m going to take my cake and move over to the couch where I will sit and gush about how sweet you are,” he said and grabbing two more cakes, he walked over to the couch.

Lan Zhan shook his head at his boyfriend’s antics. By now, he was almost used to Wu Xian’s craziness. In fact, he craved for it. Wu Xian was like a hurricane in his lonely, silent life and he loved every second of it. He cleaned up the kitchen and the dining table and with a bowl of popcorn, deposited himself next to his boyfriend, who lay sprawled out on the couch.

“Want to watch a movie?” Wang Ji asked, switching on the TV.

“Sure. Don’t ask me which movie. Anything’s fine,” he added, silencing Wang Ji’s next question.

Wang Ji decided to play Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Wu Xian hummed in approval at the choice of movie. Wu Xian stared at the man that he had come to like or maybe, even love. It was also a plus that A-Yuan was as smitten with him, as he himself was. All he wanted to do right now, was push him back on the couch and devour him.

“Wei Ying,” Wang Ji called, his eyes on the movie. “Stop staring at me. You’re making me nervous.”

Wei Wu Xian blushed at being caught red handed by his boyfriend and turned to watch the movie.

Halfway through the movie, Wang Ji turned to his boyfriend only to find him fast asleep. He smiled at how calm and serene his hurricane of a boyfriend looked when he was asleep. He must have been really tired to have fallen asleep way before his bed time. Or maybe it was the bottle of red wine that he had single handedly emptied. He switched off the movie and carefully carried his boyfriend to his bedroom and placed him on the bed. He stared at his boyfriend’s sleeping figure and watched the other man moan and groan while pulling at his plum colored turtleneck. So Wang Ji did what any other good boyfriend would do. He put a lid on his horny self and decided to change his boyfriend’s clothes.

He stared at his pile of pajamas, until one caught his eye. A pale blue, one piece, rabbit pajama, with a hood which had rabbit ears that he had bought on an impulsive whim but hadn’t had the chance to wear. (A bluer version of the picture attached below)

The rabbit onepiece

“Wei Ying would look really cute in this,” he whispered, smiling softly.

He helped him get changed into the one piece which was easier said than done because Wei Wu Xian slept like the dead. Once he was done, he pulled out his phone and clicked various pictures in different angles and gushed and laughed about how adorable but at the same time, ridiculous his boyfriend looked.

Wang Ji muffled his laughter with his hand when Wei Wu Xian stirred in his sleep. He then decided to take a shower (a very cold one) and after doing his nightly routines and changing into his pajamas, joined his boyfriend on the bed. He watched his sleeping Wei Ying for a while before sleep consumed him.

Wei Wu Xian woke up to the sound of his buzzing phone. He cracked an eye open and stared at his unfamiliar surroundings. It took him a whole minute to realize that he was not in his bed or his room. Before he could start panicking, he heard the door open by a crack and Wang Ji poked his head in.

“You’re up? Come have breakfast.”

Wei Ying nodded wordlessly. His phone continued to buzz again and he patted his pants before realizing that he wasn’t wearing his jeans. No, he was wearing the softest pair of pajamas, more like a rabbit suit, that smelled awfully lot like sandalwood. He rubbed his face, embarrassed by the fact that Wang Ji had changed him last night while he slept like the dead. Before he could ponder more on Wang Ji’s weird tastes of pajamas, he found his buzzing phone on the bedside table and received it without checking the caller ID.

“Where the fuck are you?” came Jiang Cheng’s angry voice, causing him to wince. “You didn’t come home last night. And you are supposed to meet the foreign investors today at 10. It’s 9 already. Where the fuck are you?!”

The reminder of the very important meeting was what woke him up completely. “It’s nine?! Shit! Shit! I’m at Lan Zhan’s. I fell asleep! I’ll be there in fifteen! Tell my assistant to prepare my spare suit!” he scrambled out of bed and grabbing his keys and phone rushed out of the room. He rounded the kitchen counter and placed a rushed, wet kiss to his boyfriend’s lips. “Gotta go, Lan Zhan! I’m late for a meeting! Will have to go directly to the office! Jiang Cheng is going to kill me! Bye!”

“Wei Ying, listen!” Wang Ji tried to stop him, hurrying out of the kitchen.

“Later, Lan Zhan! I’m so screwed!” came a retreating reply.

“No, Wei Ying! You’re wearing-,” the door slammed shut

Wang Ji stared at his door for a minute and sighed deeply.

“He is going to be so embarrassed, walking into the company like that,” he laughed under his breath. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and sent Jiang Cheng a text.

<<To: Jiang Cheng

Meet Wei Ying at the office entrance. And make sure you get a video. >>

His phone dinged, indicating a reply.

<<From: Jiang Cheng

Huh?! >>

Lan Wang Ji smirked. He could almost imagine the pout on his boyfriend’s face when he found out about his little trick.

<<To: Jiang Cheng

Trust me, it’ll be worth it!  >>

While Wang Ji was having fun imagining his boyfriend’s oncoming tantrum, Wei Wu Xian closed the main door of Wang Ji’s apartment and pressed the button for the elevator, shuffling on his feet. As the door opened with a ding, he felt a presence behind him and before he could even turn to look, a needle was plunged into his shoulder and then everything went went dark.

And now:

Wei Wu Xian opened his eyes with a groan and squinted at the dimly lit room. Or warehouse. Who knows? He craned his neck to look around, hoping to catch someone or something that he could use as an advantage. The room was bare, save for a door at one end. He pulled at the ropes with which his hands and feet had been tied to the wooden chair but with no avail.

Well, fuck. He had been kidnapped. Wei fucking Wu Xian was kidnapped!

“Oh God, Jiang Cheng is never going to let me live this one down,” he groaned.

Who the hell wanted him kidnapped, he wondered. Being in the business field, making enemies was inevitable. And he had plenty. But he was sure, none of them were stupid enough to do something as stupid as kidnap him.

He stared at his empty wrist and groaned out loud. His watch, which had an inbuilt tracker was missing. It was probably at Lan Zhan’s place, he figured. He just prayed that he hadn’t lost his sister’s precious gift to him and that it was still hanging around his neck. Sitting there, tied to a chair, he couldn’t help but wonder about the meeting that he had with his foreign investors. He only hoped that Jiang Cheng had figured something had happened and would handle those clients.

The door opened with a bang and Wei Wu Xian squinted at the sudden glare of light, trying to catch a glimpse of the idiots that had brought him here. He caught sight of two short figures making their way into the room.

“Well well well,” came a nasal voice. “Looks like I finally have Lan Wang Ji right where- WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!”

Wei Wu Xian stared at his kidnapper, confusedly. ‘Lan Wang Ji? This man knows Lan Zhan?’ he wondered. “I don’t know, man. You tell me. you brought me here,” he replied blankly. He stared at his kidnapper, trying to put a name to his face but came up blank. He was short with dark hair and an insect like face. Ha. Wei Wu Xian was going to call him insect man for now.

He watched insect man glare at the other person, who had an average height, a quite handsome face but something about him didn’t settle well with Wei Wu Xian. As good looking as he was, everything about him screamed psycho.

“One job, Xue Yang,” growled insect man. “I gave you just one job. Who the hell is this?” he asked, pointing at a frowning Wei Wu Xian.

“That’s Lan Wang Ji,” Xue Yang replied, smirking proudly.

With the recent turn of events, Wei Wu Xian had already pieced together that he was a victim of a kidnapping gone wrong. It was his boyfriend that they had intended to kidnap.

Insect man groaned. He looked like he was physically in a lot of pain. “That,” he said, pointing a pudgy finger at Wu Xian, “is not Lan Wang Ji. I assure you.”

“I concur,” Wei Wu Xian added his two cents. “I am not Lan Wang Ji.”

“Huh,” Xue Yang seemed to be lost in thought. He turned to insect man and said, “But you told me that the man lives in flat number 301. He is tall, handsome and has dark hair. And that he wears light shades of blue.” Insect man nodded. “He,” he continued, pointing a finger at their victim, “came out of flat number 301, is tall, handsome, has dark hair and is wearing light blue pajamas.”

“What light blue pajamas? I’m not-,” he stared at his body in horror. And then he laughed incredulously. Insect man and Xue Yang stared at him like he had lost it. “I can’t believe that I was going to walk into my office dressed in blue rabbit pajamas. Imagine a CEO walking into his office dressed in pajamas. How scandalous! I honestly don’t know if I should thank you for saving me from the embarrassment or hit you for kidnapping me.”

Insect man was getting pissed. He was turning an unhealthy shade of red. “So you’ve not just failed at kidnapping Lan Wang Ji, but I have to now deal with this 150 pounds of insanity?” he screamed at Xue Yang.

“But he really came out of Flat number 301!” Xue Yang tried to defend himself.

“I did,” Wei Wu Xian confirmed. “I came out of Lan Zhan’s apartment.”

Insect man was now curious. “How do you know Lan Wang Ji?” he asked, skeptically.

Wei Wu Xian smiled dreamily. “He’s my boyfriend!” he chirped. “That tall, handsome and sexy man is my boyfriend. If I knew I was getting kidnapped today, I would have definitely slept with him yesterday!”

“Shameless!” Insect man exclaimed, thoroughly embarrassed. “Although, that explains this whole mess.”

“Shameless is my middle name,” Wei Wu Xian said with a laugh. “By the way, can you tell me who you are? I’m kinda tired of calling you insect man in my head.”

“Insect man?!” he yelled, outraged and glared at a snickering Xue Yang.

“That’s beside the point. I deserve to know who my kidnappers are,” he said pointedly.

“I am Su She. Su Min Shan.”

“Su Min Shan. Su Min Shan,” Wei Wu Xian chanted, trying to remember where he had heard that name. “Ah,” he said in sudden realization. “You’re the one that my Lan Zhan is suing for embezzlement!”

Su Min Shan glared at his current victim. “Embezzlement?! It’s not embezzlement if I am taking back the money that belongs to me! My father had invested in the Gusu Lan enterprises. He died a few years ago and I was just taking my money back.”

Wei Wu Xian stared at the man as if he had grown two heads. “It doesn’t work that way, you know.”

“And that son of bitch Lan Wang Ji!” he continued, as if Wei Wu Xian hadn’t even spoken. “Acting all high and mighty, treating me like I’m worse than the dirt on his shoe just because his uncle is the Chairman of the company.  He doesn’t even deserve it!”

“Hey! Leave my Lan Zhan alone. He’s amazing! He is often misunderstood but under that cold exterior lies the warmest man that I’ve ever met,” Wu Xian defended his boyfriend.

Su Min Shan sneered. He stared at his victim and realized that he didn’t know who he was. And for some strange reason, the man that they had kidnapped was acting nothing like a victim. He looked calm. Too calm for Su Min Shan’s liking. “Who are you, exactly?” he asked.

“I am Wei Wu Xian,” he replied, nonchalantly.

Su Min Shan’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. “You mean, Wei Wu Xian, CEO of Jiang and Co?” he stuttered.

“The very same,” Wu Xian replied with a smirk.

Su Min Shan was speechless. His mouth kept opening and closing like a fish and Wei Wu Xian found it extremely hilarious.

“I don’t want to scare you but I am pretty sure my brother has already realized that I’m missing and you’d be lucky if he hasn’t already sent out a search party looking for me. And just for your additional information and I am not saying this to brag (Ha. Who’s he kidding? He was definitely bragging!) but I really think that you should know what you’ve just gotten yourself into. Lan Xi Chen is my brother’s boyfriend. My sister’s husband is Jin Zi Xuan. My best friend is Nie Huaisang, brother of Nie Ming Jue. So you’ve got four clans who will be searching high and low for me and when they do find me, you’ll regret that you ever kidnapped me and even thinking of kidnapping Lan Zhan!” he laughed, deviously. According to Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng was fully capable of finding out about his whereabouts alone. But being the sadist that he was, he was having a little too much fun, scaring his kidnapper and his lackey.

Xue Yang stared between the two, trying to gauge his next course of actions and Wei Wu Xian considered him to be smart, for he took the bait and escaped from the room before things got nasty. By the time Su Min Shan realized his lackey’s absence it was already too late.

He laughed uneasily. Su Min Shan knew that he was screwed.

“By the way,” began Wei Wu Xian, sounding genuinely curious. “Shouldn’t you be in jail?”

“Haven’t you heard of something called bail?” he deadpanned.

“Ah, right,” Wu Xian shook his head, silently laughing at the fact that jail rhymed with bail. He was childish that way. “You know, if you let me go now, I can make sure that nobody finds out about this. After all, you’re already going down for embezzlement. Adding kidnapping to it will do you no good,” he bargained.

There was complete silence for a minute while Su Min Shan contemplated his options. Just when he was about to answer, he heard a bunch of footsteps approaching the door. Well, push had already come to shove. The only thing he could do now, was to fight. He pulled out a gun from the waistband of his jeans and rushed to stand behind Wei Wu Xian, the latter’s head in a chokehold, as he pointed the gun to Wu Xian’s temple.

If Wu Xian was startled from the sudden appearance of a gun, he didn’t let it show. At least, it seemed like help was coming.

The door was pushed open and in walked, Lan Wang Ji, Jiang Cheng, Lan Xi Chen and Jiang Yan Li’s two bodyguards, Song Lan and Xiao XingChen. They stared at the pair apprehensively and the silence soon turned deafening.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Jiang Chang yelled outraged. “I could have got such meme worthy material today and you’re telling me that I missed it because some sick whacko wanted to kidnap you?!” He paused and then giggled, like a mad man. “Well, shit! Wei Wu Xian, you got kidnapped! That’s a whole other meme worthy material!” He bent over and continued to laugh, slapping his thighs.

Su Min Shan leaned closer to Wu Xian’s ear and whispered, “Is your family mentally alright?”

Wei Wu Xian sighed tiredly. Because, really. What the hell was he supposed to say to that when his beloved brother was laughing like a maniac while he had a freaking gun pointed to his head.

“Wei Ying,” came Lan Zhan’s soft and concerned voice. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

“I’m perfectly alright Lan Zhan,” he replied with a soft smile and then coughed when Su Min Shan tightened the arm around his neck.

Lan Wang Ji took a threatening step forward but stopped when Wei Wu Xian coughed more.

“Don’t you dare, Lan Wang Ji. If you want your precious boyfriend alive, then stay back,” Su Min Shan growled, nervously, pushing the gun further against Wu Xian’s temple.

“You are not qualified to talk to me,” Wang Ji said with cold eyes. Xi Chen and Jiang Cheng stared at him, completely shocked.

“You-!” Su She sputtered, tightening his arms around his victim further.

“Aiya, Lan Zhan! Calm down! At this rate, you’re gonna get me killed,” Wei Wu Xian croaked between coughs.

Everybody in the room knew that Su Min Shan was a cornered animal. Including himself. Although fighting was going to be absolutely futile, a cornered animal would do anything to stay alive.

“What do you want, Su Min Shan?” asked Xi Chen, all calm and serene. But if anybody noticed closely, they would see the fire raging in his eyes.

“How did you find us?” Su Min Shan questioned, ignoring Xi Chen. Wei Wu Xian seconded that question.

By now, Jiang Cheng had recovered. He glared furiously at the man that had rendered his brother so helpless. “Well, when you didn’t reach the office in fifteen minutes, I called you again only to find that it was switched off. So I decided to wait. It was well past ten thirty, that I finally realized that something had happened.”

“So he called me,” began Wang Ji. “Inconveniently for me, the CCTV’s in the corridor and the elevators had been wiped out. Thankfully, I checked the CCTV’s of the parking lot and found that your car was still there. Jiang Cheng then called your sister.”

“It was only when I called A-Jie that I found out that the necklace around your neck has an inbuilt tracker in it.” Jiang Cheng locked eyes with his brother and shrugged. “I did not know A-Jie had installed trackers in our necklaces. Honestly, if I had known, I’d have complained about it being a violation of my privacy. But with what just happened, I am so glad that she put those trackers on us. It’d have been so difficult to find you without it.” Jiang Cheng turned to the kidnapper and continued. “You’re a fool to think that we’d be so careless with our lives and the lives of our loved ones. If I were you, Su Min Shan, I would put that gun away and surrender.”

Ah. That made so much sense to Wei Wu Xian. The necklace had been a gift from his A-Jie and she had given a similar one to Jiang Cheng after the death of their parents. She had told him to always have it on him and it was her way of always being with him. Her words made so much sense now. It was a simple black coated necklace with a black rectangular shaped pendant. There had been nothing special about it and even though he and Jiang Cheng weren’t fans of necklaces, they had wordlessly worn it to respect their sister’s wish.

The necklace gifted by JYL

“It’s a good thing that I am not you then,” Su Min Shan scoffed. “All I wanted was to make Lan Wang Ji suffer. He doesn’t deserve anything. The company or his life. He’s worthless,” he spat. “But look at you now, Lan Wang Ji. Looking all miserable because your boyfriend is in my hold. We may have got the wrong guy but frankly, I’m quite enjoying watching you suffer, right now. Maybe I should just kill him.”

There was nothing that could be done as long as Wei Wu Xian was in that chokehold. He knew as much. And the chokehold was too tight for him to even move his head. He need a plan. A quick one. He had a vague idea of what he could do but the chances of it working were actually pretty slim. But he had to try. He was Wei Wu Xian. He had an adorable son, a handsome boyfriend and amazing siblings to get back to. He wasn’t going down. At least, not without a fight.

“Lan Zhan! I-I have to tell you something,” Wei Wu Xian stuttered.

Su Min Shan pushed the gun against his head harder, “Let’s save it for later.”

Wei WuXian shook his head. Or at least tried to “No. It’s really urgent.”

“Fine, then. Say it now. I’ll just consider it as your last wish,” Su Min Shan smirked.

“Right. Right,” Wei Wu Xian muttered. “Lan Zhan! Lan WangJi! Lan Er-GeGe! Last night, I-I really wanted to sleep with you!” he exclaimed.

Everyone froze at the sudden declaration. Su Min Shan’s hold on is neck faltered just enough for him to muster all his strength and head butt his kidnapper. Although his vision swam at the sudden contact and movement, he smirked when he heard the satisfying crunch of what he assumed could only be his kidnapper’s nose.

Within seconds, Song Lan and Xiao XingChen had the writhing and groaning man pinned to the floor and hands cuffed.

Wang Ji and Jiang Cheng immediately rushed to Wu Xian and untied his hands and feet, while Xi Chen pulled out his phone to call the cops. Wei Wu Xian sagged against his boyfriend’s arms while his kidnapper continued to wail in pain.

Wei WuXian straightened up in Wang Ji’s arms and looked him in the eye. “Lan Zhan! Listen to me!”

“Wei Ying, we can speak later. Let me check if you’re injured first,” the ever caring boyfriend replied.

“No, listen!” Wu Xian exclaimed, starling everyone, yet again. “You’re really great. I like you. Or in other words, I fancy you, I love you, I want you, I can’t leave you, I whatever you. I want to be your most important client for the rest of my life,” he confessed.

“Ahem!” Standing on the side, Lan XiChen tried his best to not laugh. “Wu Xian, it certainly isn’t the best time and place to say such words.”

Even Jiang Cheng stared at his brother, embarrassed and disgusted. “I have always known that you are shameless. But for the love of God, spare us this one time from your crap!”

“Sorry, A-Cheng and Xi Chen Ge. This can’t wait,” he turned to Wang Ji and continued. “And I want to sleep with you every day. I swear it’s not the heat of the moment or joking around like I’ve done in the past one month. I’m not doing it out of gratitude either. Anyways, it’s not because of anything else. I really just like you so much I want to sleep with you. I don’t want anyone but you—it can’t be anyone but you. You can do anything you want to me, however you like it. I’ll accept everything, as long as you’re willing to…” His confession came to an abrupt end when Wang Ji silenced him with his lips.

Lan Wang Ji’s breaths were short and disordered. His hoarse voice whispered into Wei Wu Xian’s ear, “… fancy you…”

Wei Wu Xian hugged him tight, “Yes!”

Lan Wang Ji continued “… love you, want you…”

Wei Wu Xian raised his voice, “Yes!”

“Cannot leave you… do not want anyone but you… it cannot be anyone but you!” Wang Ji finished.

Wei Wu Xian fisted his boyfriend’s hair and smashed their lips together. The minute their lips touched, sparks flew and it was just them, in each other’s arms. Everything around them disappeared as their tongues delved into each.

Lan Xi Chen and Jiang Cheng stared at their brothers, turning completely red from embarrassment. Here they were, standing in an abandoned basement, watching their brothers turn into horny little rabbits. One of them was even dressed like one.

“Um,” began Xi Chen. “I think we should just go. It doesn’t seem like they’re going to stop anytime soon.”

Jiang Cheng was still staring at his brother, completely mortified. “I had high hopes for your brother, A-Huan. But my brother has successfully ruined yours.”

“Well, as long as they are happy,” Xi Chen muttered, still not quite believing his brothers current actions.

Jiang Cheng grabbed his beloved’s hand and squeezed. Together, shaking their heads at the fools lost in lala land, they walked out, followed by a groaning Su Min Shan being escorted by the two guards.

Wei Wu Xian moaned against Wang Ji’s lips and felt the heat pooling in his abdomen. He could also feel his lover’s hardness against his thigh. Wang Ji moved his lips to the mole beneath his beloved’s lips and sucked.

“From the moment I laid my eyes on you, I have always wanted to do this,” he whispered against the corner of Wu Xian’s lips and continued to lick and suck on the mole.

“Hey! Look at that! Lan Er- Gege is as shameless as me!” Wei Wu Xian giggled and Wang Ji softly bit his chin. It took all of Wei Wu Xian’s strength to do what he did next. He pulled away. “As much as I would love to ravish you right here and right now, I don’t think I want our first time to be in a bug infested basement, Lan Zhan,” he chuckled, still breathing heavily.

Wang Ji’s eyes widened in sudden realization of what they were about to do and where they were about to do it. He blushed profusely. The man lying in his arms had a habit of bringing out embarrassing sides of him that he never even knew existed. But he wouldn’t have it any other way. Meeting Wei Wu Xian would always be the best thing that had ever happened to him.

“How about you take me to Lotus Pier, Lan Zhan?” he asked in a sultry voice. “After I hug and kiss my, I mean, our little A-Yuan, I could show you a good time in my bedroom.”

Lan Wang Ji nodded, a little too eagerly. And happily. He loved the sound of ‘Our little A-Yuan’. When he met Wei Wu Xian, he had never thought that he would get an adorable child as a bonus and he never in his wildest dreams would have thought that he would come to love the child more than anything else (Not including Wei Ying, of course) in his world. In just a span of a month, Wei Ying and A-Yuan had become his family. And he would do anything in his power to keep it that way. “I’d love that!”

As Lan Wang Ji helped Wei Wu Xian out of the basement, the latter couldn’t help but think of his previous wish to have a fairy tale. It was safe to say that he didn’t feel the same now. Because here’s the thing about fairy tales. They have stupid little twists and they always came to an end.

What he wanted was to love and be loved.

Unconditionally.

And forever.
