End Racism in the OTW

Chapter 7: Epilogue

Summary:

And of course, there’s Hibiki, who pulls her in for a kiss the moment the ceremony is over, crying nearly as hard as Fuyumi is because it’s all over. Hibiki, who she’s moving in with at the start of the next term because they’re going to teach in the same city. Hibiki, who loves her too.

Notes:

Just a few hundred words to tie up the Fuyumi/Hibiki thing :)

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Graduation is surprisingly anticlimactic, Fuyumi thinks.

Well, that’s not exactly true. Fuyumi and Rei both cry, and Takami, Shimura, and her brothers cheer so loud when she walks across the stage that anyone who didn’t already know there were three top heroes in the audience definitely do now.

She just thought she would feel different. Older, maybe? More mature? She just feels the same as she did this morning.

Going out to dinner is nice, though, and Fuyumi will never complain about someone buying her meal for her. The restaurant is nicer than they could usually afford, but three Pros volunteering to pay for it definitely opens up their options.

She’s pulled out the blue dress from the gala, and Hibiki wears a long silver dress that hugs her curves and sparkles like ice crystals, with a neckline that plunges just enough to be distracting while still appropriate for a family dinner.

It’s a joint celebration, since Natsuo and Shouto both graduated the week before, and Shouto sits between Iida and Midoriya while Natsuo tries to pretend he isn’t holding hands with his friend Yamamura under the table.

Fuyumi leans back in her seat, looking around the table with a smile. Touya is laughing at Takami, who grins back at him, tucked under Shimura’s arm. Yamamura is leaning against Natsuo, their shoulders brushing and matching grins on their faces. Her mother watches Touya, smiling gently with so much pride in her face. Midoriya is infodumping, something about Edgeshot, if what she can piece together from his rapid speech is correct, and Shouto and Iida are listening raptly. They both look so ridiculously lovestruck that Fuyumi almost laughs.

Hibiki puts an arm around her, and Fuyumi leans into the touch, relaxing in spite of herself.

“You alright?” she murmurs. She’s learned by now how overwhelmed Fuyumi can get when it’s loud like this, and she tries her best to be accommodating, making their excuses and letting Fuyumi press against her shoulder when they can’t get away.

“Yeah,” Fuyumi answers softly. She presses a kiss against the corner of her girlfriend’s jaw, smiling. “Yeah, I’m okay.”

Notes:

And we're done! I'm hoping for the Midoriya fic to be around the same length as this one! I don't quite know how far into canon it'll go, but it picks up right around the beginning of the manga :)

I don't know when it'll be up earlier. If I finish it before NaNoWriMo, then you'll probably get it soon. If not... who knows?

Notes:

My plan was to update this daily but there's a good chance I'll get impatient and/or forget, so I make no promises.
