Chapter Text
It had been a few hours since Morro and Cole came back from their shopping trip. The other ninja pestered Cole to find out how it went.
Morro meanwhile decided to go to his favourite spot in the monastery, or rather on it. Morro just loved sitting on the roof.
Cole managed to get away his friends and made his way outside. He saw the master of wind sitting on the roof. Now was just up to Cole to talk to him. So he slowly made his way up to the roof.
“Hey”, said Cole, scaring Morro.
“Don’t scare me like that!”; said Morro.
“Sorry.”, said Cole, “Can I sit with you?”
“Knock yourself out.”, said Morro, not looking up.
Cole sat down next to the master of wind. They sat on a comfortable silence for a while before Morro decided to break the silence.
“You know, I sometimes wonder what my life could have been like if I didn’t die and became a ghost.”, said Morro, “I could have lived a happy life here and done a lot of good.”
“I don’t like that.”, said Cole.
“What?”, questioned Morro, confused.
“What I mean is, we maybe wouldn’t have met if you didn’t take the path you did. We wouldn’t be sitting here, talking. I don’t think I’d want that.”, said Cole.
“But I hurt you all! You became a ghost because of me!”, cried Morro.
“True, but because of you, I became human again”, said Cole, “and you feel bad for what you did. Isn’t that enough?”
“I guess…”, said Morro.
They went back to their comfortable silence, this time however it was Cole who broke it.
“I have to tell you something important”, said Cole.
“What is it?”, asked Morro.
“I- urgh I’m not good at this… Morro, I love you.”, said Cole.
Morro just starred at Cole; did he imagine this?
“Morro? Are you going to say something?”, asked Cole, not looking at the master of wind.
Cole slowly lifted his head only to be greeted with tears running down Morro's face. He was crying.
“Morro? Is everything okay?”, asked Cole, concerned.
“Y-yeah. I just don’t get it”, said Morro.
“Get what?”, asked Cole.
“I don’t understand how someone like you could love me?!”, asked Morro.
“Oh? There’s a lot of things. The way you try to hide a blush but fail completely, how you give it your best to make amends with your past actions, how you interacted with Tyler and just you being you, I love you for you.”, said Cole, “Do you… Do you love me?”
Morro was taken by surprised. Cole loved him; he really did. He only then registered the question Cole asked him.
“YES! I love you”, exclaimed Morro.
Cole started smiling. Morro loved him back, this is perfect!
Morro loved the idiotic smile on Cole's face. It was adorable. He wants to protect that.
“So… Are we boyfriends now?”, asked Cole.
“Do you want us to be?”, asked Morro.
“I mean, yeah. You?”, said Cole.
“Yes.”, said Morro, “But I have no idea how to be a boyfriend.”
“That’s fine. You don’t have to stress about this. We’ll just do this at our own pace.”, said Cole reassuring.
Morro smiled at Cole. Cole scooted a little closer to the master of wind and puts his arm around him. Morro leaned into him and enjoyed the physical contact.
They just sat there for a while. Morro decided to look up at Cole only to find that the master of earth had fallen asleep. Morro smiled and leaned over to Cole's face and kissed his cheek.
Morro leaned back into the embrace and shortly fell asleep himself.
Bonus
The rest of the team to worried after both Morro and Cole didn’t appear for dinner. It was unusual for the both of them to miss a meal.
Everyone began searching for the two.
In the end, it was Echo, who found them on the roof, asleep.
He made his way down again to tell the others where they are. Everyone went to the spot to see them; Zane meanwhile went to grab a blanket for the two.
When Zane arrived him and Kai carefully put the blanket on the two, without waking them up.
“So are they dating now?”, asked Jay.
“I guess so.”, said Zane.
“We should just let them sleep and ask Cole later just to be sure.”, suggested Nya.
The rest of the group agreed with her. They then left the two alone and went on with their day.
