Alright, now that it’s been some time, I have decided to post the full Q&A!
...although there were only a few questions. And two of them are almost the same. I don’t know if that means that I’m writing everything in a way that’s easy to understand or if most people just don’t really care enough to ask questions, but I will be optimistic and hope it’s the first one! Either way, here we go!
Mrblob4 asked: Why did you decide to make this?
Good question!... uh, boredom? I don’t know. I had an idea one day, and I decided “fuck it, might as well” and started writing. Two years later I looked back on it and began to edit and post it, little by little. And people seemed to like it, so I kept going.
Cow_lady asked: What inspired you to write stray?
Although it’s very similar to Mrblob’s question, it is actually a different answer. After all, I could have written about anything. Why specifically write about a neko Izuku, one who goes out of his way to hide his Quirk? Well, I like Vigilante Izuku and Support Course Izuku. I like characters with trauma. I like the idea of Izuku actually having a Quirk but going through severe discrimination anyway, but I didn’t wanna write a “villain” Quirk. I like TodoDeku (although the point of this isn’t gonna be romance so it’ll probably be more fluff than anything). And, last but not least, I like cats.
TheBookRaid asked: Will Izukus real father show up later?
Ooo! Uh! I hadn’t thought of that, actually! It would be cool though, wouldn’t it? But honestly… Probably not? And I have a couple other reasons for that, too. One: Inko is a bad mom, and she wasn’t faithful. This did not mean she had a long lasting relationship with another guy. It means she had several one-night stands and one of them just happened to result in Izuku. Two: Izuku’s real father doesn’t know he even exists. After all, if he did, then Inko and Hisashi would have been forced to reveal that their home life was all messed up and whatnot, and they purposefully try to hide that fact. Three: Even if Izuku found out exactly who his real dad is, he wouldn’t go up and say “hey, guess what? You have a son! It’s me!” Nah, he’d do everything to avoid the man, because in his limited experience with parents, they are awful.

Like I said, I thought it was cute. I hadn’t included those tiny details, but I want them to happen/have happened. I don’t know if I’ll ever remember to just add a little bit of random fluff like that now , especially since Izuku’s really trying to push away everyone who doesn’t know his identity, but it’s absolutely adorable and everyone should read it.
Now, unfortunately, those were all the questions, so I figured since there were just a handful of them that I could also explain some things that I may have done a poor job of doing when they came up (as long as it wasn’t purposeful).
I am not a good artist, and I don’t remember if I outright stated all the little details, but Izuku has a tail that matches his hair, cat ears, cat eyes, retractable claws and fangs. He can run faster, jump higher, balance better, and has the enhanced senses of a cat as well.
Obviously, Inko and Mitsuki aren’t as close here as they are in canon. Perhaps they were at one point, but as Inko slowly became crappier and crappier, she began to distance herself so that Izuku wouldn’t talk about his treatment.
Although Izuku tried to be a vigilante right after Inko finally abandoned him completely, he did a pretty bad job, seeing as he was about eight years old. So he stopped and took the time to train, although he still managed to scrape by through begging for scraps or money and picking up some odd jobs here and there. During this time, he also focused on his studies in an effort to learn how to create tools to aid him, and it turns out he was really good at it. He used some of the scraps from the beach, so even if he does spend a lot of time cleaning it before the UA exams, he doesn’t spend as much as he would’ve otherwise.
I wasn’t very clear about his suit, either. He used to wear a hoodie and tights, plus a pair of special boots that are steel-tipped and give him a couple more inches, as well as a mask that was really more of a bandanna with eyeholes. The new one that Hawks gives him is more skintight (though a tiny bit loose) as well as made of stronger stuff. It comes with fingerless gloves that have rubber palms and a new, higher quality mask that extends down to cover his cheeks, but leaves his nose and mouth free.
I added a little joke that the reason why Shinsou wanted Aizawa not to arrest Izuku was because he has a crush. This is not true, and I’m pretty sure everyone realizes this, but there’s probably gonna be someone who sees that and thinks “But that’s not the pairing involved! I’m gonna point it out!” It is a joke. They do not get together. Calm down.
I do state the fact that as a support course student, Izuku created a costume for the Sports Festival. It is a helmet with cat ears and a visor, containing a microchip that allows a robotic multilayered tail to move with your thoughts/emotions. What I didn’t actually say was that the helmet has a Bluetooth connection to Izuku’s phone, which was how he had responded to Aizawa’s texts in the middle of the race, and that the technology that actually gives the enhanced hearing or the balance-correction with the tail and the helmet was temporarily removed, leaving hollow space for Izuku’s REAL ears and tail. The visor exists to protect people from seeing his eyes as well as improving visual analysis. Izuku’s costume is literally deadweight because he’s just using it to hide the fact that it’s not just a costume.
Now I guess that’s all, really... I hope that this was helpful, or at the very least, a little bit nice! I will usually answer any questions you leave down in the comments unless my goal is to make you wonder about something... (Ominous, haha) and even though I have school again, I’m gonna try to update either once a month or once every two months. I know that sounds like a long wait, but I’m sure with quarantine it’ll be hard to notice, because Time No Longer Exists.
