NOT A REAL UPDATE
Ok so...
I’ve been thinking of discontinuing this story for a long time but never said anything on the off chance that I did update.
Now, I absolutely cannot promise that there will ever be an update or that I will update soon. BUT I can promise that I WANT to update this story. Just last night I reread the entire thing and if I’m being honest, it doesn’t read like how I thought it did a year ago. But it made me laugh so hard I cried and I loved all the cute moments and just how fluffy most of it was. I think my writing style has changed yet again and I’m not sure if I could adapt to the writing style I have for this fic or not but I feel compelled to try.
I’m mad at myself for what I said about three months ago about this being a pile of trash. Like I just wanna go back and punch that self doubt in the face. I think I was in a really bad place and was beating myself up for all the mistakes I was making (which I still do ngl) but I don’t think I view this fic as a mistake any longer (I always loved the concept but was shaky about execution) but honestly the reason I wrote this was because 1. I saw no other shouto/Zuko and I thought that dynamic had too much possibility to ignore. And 2. I actually love how I executed it. One of the first shouto/Zuko fics (that I hope inspires more) is a comedy/fluff story because the world needs more of those in the world and I’m happy that one of the first of this couple could be a story that might make someone smile (maybe there are more now??)
I am glad I made it this far with this story and I would like to update this fic again and hopefully make more shouto/Zuko in the future (possibly fluffy one shots of the two of them after this story finishes? Idk)
Anyway besides me laughing this hard while rereading this I also read some of your guys comments and honestly that made cry and laugh too lol. And I’m so happy new people are still coming and still enjoying this story even though I haven’t updated in quite a while.
Also sorry if you got excited if you saw a notification and expected a chapter, I’m trying to get there, even opened the document last night.
Basically, this was just a check in with you guys to let you know what’s happening with this fic so that you don’t end up thinking it’s completely abandoned.
