Chapter Text
The text back was almost instantaneous. Bakugo saved Kiri’s contact and waited for the typing bubbles to disappear and a message to show up.
Kind of shitty hair: Bakugo!! Hey man!!
Boom boy: What are you so excited for?
Kind of shitty hair: Being able to text you, duh!
Boom boy: Dumbass. Anyways wanna hang out tomorrow?
Bakugo sent the last text hesitantly. Did he know how to flirt? No. Was he just hoping Kirishima would pick up on it? Yes. Certainly his method of expressing himself was uncanny, and Midoriya had scolded him many times about being rude, but it didn’t stop Kirishima.
Kind of shitty hair: Yes, I have a place in mind. Pick you up at noon?
That was more than the reaction Bakugo was hoping for.
Boom boy: Yeah here’s my address
(Boom boy has shared their location)
Kind of shitty hair: Cool! Oh, by the way, how do you feel about sharks?
Boom boy: They’re cool? Idfk they’re just animals
Kind of shitty hair: Okay so you tolerate them
Boom boy: Yeah I don’t mind them. It's not like I come into contact with sharks on the daily
Kind of shitty hair: Okay, see you tomorrow :)
Bakugo plugged in his phone to the charger on the side of the bed and left it to rest on the nightstand. He glanced at the clock.
I should get to bed…
He thought and rolled over under his comforter. It was one night, one single night that he slept in the same bed as Kirishima, and it was enough to make him want more. They didn’t even do anything more than cuddle, and Bakugo being touch starved, who was he to say no? He didn’t have anyone in his life that took care of him like Kirishima did. His parents were getting older, and it’s not like he’ll move back in just because he felt alone. Deku would probably take care of him if he didn’t have a husband. However, this was Bakugo fucking Katsuki. He didn’t need anyone to take care of him. Yet here he was, laying in his bed wondering what it would be like to wake up next to someone everyday. Maybe that someone was Kirishima, maybe it wasn’t. One thing Bakugo knew as he fell asleep, was that he was done wallowing in himself. That wasn’t who he was.
That’s it, I’ll just get him to fall in love with me
Kirishima sat back in his chair and thought about Bakugou. A giddy smile rose to his face as he thought about taking the blonde haired boy on a date to the aquarium for the shark show.
Wait… is this a date? He said hang out and I said yes but ohmyfuckinggodineverspecified.
Shit… It’s already late as is and he has his bedtime so he isn’t going to answer the phone if I text him now… I’ll have to ask him tomorrow. I just need to get to sleep.
Kiri got no sleep. Maybe an hour or two, not consecutively, but he was functioning. It might be better if he drank a few rounds of coffee before leaving to pick Bakugo up. Of which he did, he even grabbed a black coffee for the drive there. Sure, he would probably be practically vibrating by the time Bakugo saw him, but then again, out of the month or so now that they’ve known each other, Bakugo has already seen him drunk and the aftermath of that. That, in Kiri’s mind, was worse than his caffeine addiction that he sometimes remembered to stop because he needs a healthy diet. His and Bakugo’s first workout session took place two weeks after Midoriya’s party, and until then they had been texting and running into each other at the gym. Kirishima was nervous that he would mess it up, but also calm because he got to know Bakugo really well. So he grabbed his keys and walked out the door, with his new found confidence from the coffee.
The drive to Bakugo’s apartment wasn’t that far in retrospect. It seemed like a nice place on the outside. He probably had a little more money than Kirishima, maybe from his parents or something. Kirishima clicked the buzzer to Bakugo’s apartment and was let in through the gate. He walked into the lobby and towards the elevator. He clicked the button, and ever so slowly it made its way down to the ground floor, not being shy to stop at a few floors on the way. When the elevator signed and the doors opened, there was standing Bakugo. He was wearing ripped jeans and a classic ripped jean jacket. He wore a white sweatshirt underneath and crossing his torso was a black fanny pack. It pulled the black from his shoes and his hat, tying his entire ensemble together perfectly. Kirishima didn’t notice he was gawking until Bakugo smirked knowingly.
“I think I underdressed for an aquarium date if that’s even a thing,” Kiri said, picking his jaw up off the floor and looking at the sweats he wore. Black joggers and a Crimson Riot hoodie, his favorite boxer.
“A date?” Bakugo raised an eyebrow, smiling.
“I mean- yes? Only if you want it to be, it’s totally up to you I just never asked and-” Kirishima was cut off by Bakugo placing his hands on either side of Kirishima’s cheeks.
“It’s a date, dumbass. Now let’s go,” Bakugo released Kirishima’s face and grabbed his hand instead, intertwining their fingers.
Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck, I hope I’m not pushing it. Dumbass, does he even want to hold hands with me? It’s out first date and-
Bakugo’s intrusive thoughts were silenced by Kirishima giving his hand a light squeeze and pulling him out of the building towards his car. Bakugo felt the slight tremor of his hand as they walked, a pit of concern started to build in his stomach.
The ride to the aquarium was spent taking turns playing songs by the alphabet. That way, they got to know each other's interests a little more when it came down to having to pick a song that started with a specific letter. Kirishima had, in Bakugo’s opinion, very good taste in music. He liked the songs he put on. None of them were depressing or sappy love stories. They were fun and the type of music that made you want to play air guitar as you listened to it. Bakugo’s music had a lot of rap in it, but there were also some mellow songs you wouldn’t expect him to listen to. Kind of like someone who listens to heavy metal and Adele. He listened to rap and songs like ‘When the day met the night’ by Panic at the disco. Both of them had a very enjoyable car ride to the aquarium. Kirishima parked the car and was quick to step out. He raced over to Bakugo’s door, opening it for him before the blonde got the chance to.
“...Thank you,” Bakugo said hesitantly as if he was expecting something.
“Of course!” Kirishima mused. He then held out his hand for Bakugo to take if he wanted to, of which he did. He took his hand and intertwined their fingers yet again as they walked into the aquarium entrance. Kirishima grabbed a map from a stand as they walked in and opened it, beginning to plot out their route.
“Do you care what we see first?” Kirishima looked down at Bakugo.
“It’s up to you,” Bakugo said, giving him a small soft smile, letting his brow unfurrow from the usual scowl. He seemed to be doing that a lot more now that he met Kirishima.
“Then let’s go this way,” Kiri said with a smile, pulling his date in the directions of the penguins.
Some time passed and they were making their way to the shark arena to be in time for the show. They took their seats, on non-splash zone ones. The attendant lady started going over the safety procedures in case of an emergency before the show, just like they’re supposed to every time. Kirishima leans over into Bakugo’s space, so much so that his head could be resting on the shorter boy’s shoulder.
“Are you having a good day so far?” Kiri asks. Heat rises to Bakugo’s face at the close proximity.
“Yeah, you?” Bakugo glances at him. Kiri’s hair was tied back into a low bun. Just around his hairline and the beginning of his scalp, bakugo could see his natural hair color growing in.
“I am, I’m glad you came here with me,” Kiri gave him a soft smile. In turn, Bakugo smiled back, giving him a light shove.
“Cheesy,” Bakugo looked away, trying to hide his blush only a little. Kirishima chuckled.
“You like it,”
“Only a little,”
The announcer started talking.
“Without further adieu, the saturday shark show,”
Bakugo and Kirishima turned their heads toward the giant aquarium tank before them. They saw it downstairs, with the sharks swimming inside it, but now they were seeing it above the tank. The show started, and Kiri was entranced to say the least. It was no secret he liked sharks, they were just so manly. Bakugo paid attention to the show, for the most part. He snuck glances at Kirishima and each time he did, his gaze grew just a little softer. Without realizing it, he was leaning towards him. When the show ended, Kirishima turned his head, all excited to talk about the cool tricks the sharks did. He stopped whatever words were about to come out of his mouth when he came face to face with Bakugo. They were mere millimeters apart. Bakugo’s eyes widened, but he didn’t make a move to pull away, so Kiri took the last step. He tilted his head and leaned down, placing a soft kiss on Bakugo's lips, which was immediately returned. Bakugo’s hand found it’s way to the back of Kiri’s neck, pulling him in a little closer. Kirishima in turn, didn’t hesitate to wrap an arm around Bakugo’s waist, something he was becoming increasingly familiar with. The kiss lasted a few seconds, then they pulled apart for air.
“That was…”
“Amazing?”
“Yeah,” Kirishima nodded, letting his forehead rest against Bakugo’s.
“Are we crazy?” He asked.
“Probably,” Bakugo responded.
“Do you maybe wanna go on another date with me?” Kirishima looked into the blonde’s eyes.
“I think you already know the answer, dummy,” Bakugo smirked and placed a quick kiss on Kirishima’s cheek before standing up and stretching. A blush remained on Kiri’s face as he stood up and followed Bakugo back out to the parking lot. They got in the car and started to drive back in comfortable silence. Bakugo placed his hand on Kiri’s as he drove.
“Let’s go back to your place, I’ll cook something,” Bakugo said.
“Okay,” Kiri smiled at him.
When they got back, Bakugo made them stir fry and they ate in peace.
“So I picked our first date, so where do you want to go next time?” Kirishima looked up as he stuffed the delicious food in his mouth.
“How do you feel about hiking?” Bakugo raised an eyebrow, in a friendly manner.
“Manly. What’d ya have in mind?”
“How do you feel about Mount Fuji?”
“Never been”
“Me neither, been saving the trip for something special”
“And you wanna go with me? Does that make me special?”
“Of course it does you dipshit”
“Aw Bakugo who knew you could be a romantic”
“I can when I want to be”
Kirishima chuckled at the statement. They soon finished dinner and Kirishima did the dishes since Bakugo cooked. Said blonde took a shower and stole some of Kiri’s clothes to make himself comfortable as he sat down on the couch and started scrolling through movies on the tv.
“I’m going to shower now, let me know if you find something you want to watch,” Kiri said as he walked into the bathroom. Bakugo suddenly got a devious idea. He stood up and walked over to the bathroom and knocked. Much to his joy, Kirishima opened the door, shirtless.
“Yes?”
“You said to let you know when I found something I wanna watch,” Bakugo smirked like he wasn’t slightly blushing.
“Well I meant like after I get out of the shower but now is fine too,” Kirishima said, not doing his best to hide his confusion.
“Then open the door,” Bakugo crossed his arms, holding his laughter back. Kirishima practically choked on air.
“I’m sorry what-”
“Something I wanna watch right? Well I wanna watch you,”
Now, Bakugo said that statement like it was suave, however his appearance said otherwise. Not only being shorter than Kirishima, but standing there with his arms crossed, a smirk on his face, and said face a few shades of pink, it was not suave at all. Who knew Bakugo would be the type to flirt that would embarrass them both. Kirishima was the same color as most of his hair as his jaw dropped at Bakugo. The blonde couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore, he nearly doubled over at Kirishima’s expression.
“P-Please tell me that was just an attempt at horrible flirting so I don’t wish for the ground to swallow me whole,” Kirishima’s voice cracked. Bakugo stood up and wiped a tear away from laughing.
“It was. Oh but it was so worth it,” Bakugo laughed to himself and turned to walk back to the couch, “Something like that might happen in the future though, and next time I won’t take no for an answer,” Bakugo plopped down on the couch and wrapped himself in Kirishima’s blanket. Kiri closed the bathroom door and Bakugo heard a muffled scream. He chuckled to himself.
Sometime later, the movie finished and it was late. Bakugo had fallen asleep on Kirishima’s arm, that he couldn’t feel anymore. The red-head decided it was best not to wake him up. He knew how he was about sleep schedules. So instead, he picked him up and carried him to his bed.
Should I sleep here too or on the couch?? It should be fine, we’ve already slept in the same bed. But that was when we were still.. What even are we now? Dating? We didn’t confess and I didn’t ask him to be my boyfriend. Oh my god this is that weird stage that-
“Kirishima…” Bakugo mumbled.
“Bakugo? Are you awake?” Kiri asked.
“I can practically hear your thoughts. Get in bed,” Bakugo mumbled again and rolled over, facing away from Kirishima. The latter took that as an invitation to crawl under the covers and wrap his arms around Bakugo, who’s tension immediately left his body once he felt Kirishima. They fell asleep in contentment.
This time, Bakugo was the first to wake up. They were still in the same position they had fallen asleep in. So carefully, without waking Kiri up, Bakugo rolled over in his arms to face him. He laid there in the sunlight, admiring his face. He used his hand to trace his features. There was a little scar over his right eye.
How did he get that?
Kiri stirred in his sleep, unconsciously leaning into Bakugo’s touch.
“... You’re just a big softy,” Bakugo chuckled to himself and placed a light kiss on Kiri’s forehead.
“And you’re calling me the softy,” Kirishima mumbled. Bakugo flinched back.
“Oh god you’re awake,” Bakugo’s face flushed.
“I’m a light sleeper. I woke up when you started touching my face,” Kiri smirked at him. Bakugo was silent as his face got redder. Kiri giggled like a little kid before engulfing Bakugo into a hug. It took a moment for Bakugo to register and hug back, while running his fingers through Kirishima’s hair.
“Your hair is soft,” Bakugo says.
“Yours is spiky. Are we making observations? I could comment on your abs or your arms-”
Kirishima was cut off as Bakugo playfully hit him in the arm.
“Don’t get all smartass with me. I’m the king of smartass,” Bakugo returned to running his fingers through Kiri’s hair. The red-head pretended not to notice, just as he let Bakugo pretend to be mad.
“I know you are. So would the king of being a smartass like some breakfast?” Kiri asked.
“Yes. I’m not cooking this time so we are ordering food,” Bakugo grumbled and rested his chin on Kiri’s head.
“Actually I’ve been trying to learn how to make pancakes for you so I’m cooking this time,” Kiri hummed into Bakugo’s chest.
“... You shouldn’t be cooking without supervision. Where is pikachu?” Bakugo asks.
“Sometimes I can’t tell if he lives here or with Shinsou,” Kiri chuckles.
“Oh w-”
Bakugo was cut off as there was a loud bang coming from the kitchen. Bakugo and Kirishima shot up and dashed into the room
“What is-”
They stopped at the sight of a bowl on the floor and Denki covered in flour. Shinsou rounded the corner holding a bag of chocolate chips and more flour. Midoriya was standing at the stove looking depressed over some burnt circular objects. Todoroki’s oven mit was on fire and he was running it under the sink.
“What in the actual fuck?”
Everyone stopped and turned to them.
“Well you two are looking just dandy,” Midoriya commented.
Bakugo and Kiri gave each other a once over before deciding it wasn’t much different than the last time they were around each other in the apartment. Bakugo was wearing his boxers and a tank top while Kiri was shirtless and wearing gym shorts. Bakugo turned to look at the group in the kitchen.
“You all are idiots. What is this?” He said and walked over.
“Pancakes,” They all said in sync.
“All of you sit the fuck down. Pikachu go take a shower it looks like you rolled in flour. Kiri? Assistance,” Bakugo grumbled and walked over to the kitchen counter.
“On it boss,” Midoriya groaned and walked over to the couch. Todoroki followed after putting out the oven mit with Shinsou’s help. Denki went to go shower like Bakugo said.
“I’ll clean up a bit and get the proper stuff we need,” Kiri sighed.
“I know where most of everything is from last time so you just clean up and then help when you’re done. Or you can sit down, I can just cook,” Bakugo said as he dumped Midoriya’s failed attempt at pancakes into the garbage.
“You cooked last time. And I told you I wanted to cook this time, I would have if my roommate didn’t invite our neighbors in and almost destroy the kitchen I pay for,” Kirishima sighed.
“Thank you,” Bakugo said as he stood in front of the cabinets, pulling ingredients out. Kirishima walked up to him and pressed a kiss to his temple.
“You’re welcome. I’ll clean the counter first so you have a space to start the batter,” Kiri said and grabbed a rag to wipe down the spilled flour. Bakugo smiled as he watched him work, before returning to finding a bowl.
“Okay so y’all wanna explain?” Midoriya, Shinsou, and Todoroki were staring at them wide eyed.
“And just when I forgot you idiots were here,” Bakugo sighed and lightly slammed his forehead into the wall.
“Yeah the Living room and kitchen are in the same room now what the fuck was that?” Midoriya pointed at Bakugo.
“Was what?” Bakugo glared at him.
“The thing you did with your face?” Midoriya responded.
“A smile?” Kirishima raised his eyebrow.
“Yeah,” Todoroki said, “I didn’t think his face could do that,”
“But he does it all the time?” Kirishima looked at them even more confused. Bakugo flipped a chocolate chip at him.
“No I don’t.” He grumbled.
“Yes you do,” Kiri teased, as he finally saw what was going on.
“He does?” Midoriya looked at Kirishima like he had two heads.
“Oh yeah. Bakugo-”
Kiri was interrupted as Bakugo tackled him behind the kitchen island counter and started tickling him. Midoriya and Todoroki rushed over, Shinsou took his time.
“Wait no please-pfft- have mercy-” Kiri laughed as Bakugo tickled his sides.
“I may be small compared to you but I won’t hesitate to take you down,” Bakugo laughed at the sight of Kiri laughing.
“Not there-”
“Ah? Your sides are ticklish I see. Apologize and I’ll have mercy,” Bakugo grinned.
“For what?” Kiri barely managed to talk between laughter.
“Say sorry,” Bakugo giggled as he continued to tickled Kirishima.
“Okay I’m sorry- I’m sorry Kat now please-” Kiri wheezed.
Bakugo halted at the nickname.
“Kat?” He repeated.
“Oh I-” Kiri was cut off as Bakugo kissed him. He leaned over and whispered in his ear.
“If you can call me Kat, I can call you Ei. Got it?” Bakugo leaned back over Kiri’s face. The red-head nodded.
“Good,” He said and kissed him again. Kiri kissed back, allowing his hands to rest on Bakugo’s thighs, which had assumed the position of straddling him.
“Kiri we’re out of shampoo- what did I miss?” Kami said as he walked back into the kitchen with a towel around his waist. Shinsou looked at him.
“Hot,” He said, Kami blew him a kiss.
“Kiri exposed Kacchan for being soft, so he started tickling him. Then they started making out. I think they forgot that we’re here and that they’re supposed to make us pancakes,” Midoriya sighed.
“Way to ruin our moment you extras,” Bakugo grumbled and wrapped his arms around Kirishima’s shoulders as he stood up. Kiri supported Bakugo’s weight by holding his legs as he got off the ground.
“Why do I always miss the fun part? And since when has this been a thing?” Kami gestured to Kirishima and Bakugo the koala bear that’s attached to him. Kiri shrugged.
“Maybe you’re blind or something,” Kirishima joked.
“Okay so first you were too distracted watching him when you met the first time. Second when I offered to help you get his number you chickened out. Then at the party you did nothing but flirt. And now come to find out you got a date with him or whatever this is all by yourself? What the hell man! I’m supposed to be your wingman,” Kami complained.
“Not gonna lie bro, you’ve been too busy clinging to Shinsou to even do anything about my love life. No offense Shinsou,”
“None taken”
“Now go put some clothes on and Kat and I will make pancakes,” Kiri sighed.
“I hate you,” Kami said.
“I’m your wallet, you can’t hate me,” Kiri smirked at him.
“Bakugo is rubbing off on you I don’t like it,” Kami sighed and walked away. Bakugo chuckled.
“Are you going to get off now or am I going to cook and clean like this,” Kiri asked Bakugo as the others sat back down on the couch.
“Mm sounds nice, but I guess I’ll help,” Bakugo said and climbed off Kiri.
“Thank you, I’m not sure my arms could have taken it,” Kiri fake complained.
“You bench press like 200 and I’m 180. Now get to cleaning you dork,” Bakugo scoffed with a smile and started making the batter.
20 minutes later and the batter was made and the kitchen was clean. It was time to start actually cooking the pancakes. Kiri got you a pan while Bakugo grabbed the butter.
“Anyone else think it’s weird how they move in sync?” Shinsou whispered to Midoriya and Todoroki, who both nodded their heads.
“We can hear you assholes,” Bakugo grumbled.
“Kat be nice. They’ve just never seen a couple as badass as us,” Kiri smirked.
“Badass? As we make pancakes? And a couple?” Bakugo raised an eyebrow.
“Well yeah pancakes but if you don’t want to be-” Kiri was cut off as Bakugo started laughing quietly.
“What’s so funny?” Kiri looks at him.
“Nothing, you're just cute. I like this old fashion-ish courting thing you got going on,” Bakugo said as he took Kirishima’s hand and held it.
“Oh? So it's not cheesy?” Kiri joked as they stood in the kitchen together, holding hands.
“You're always cheesy. But it's a good cheesy,” Bakugo let his head rest against Kirishima’s chest. Said red-head used his free hand to hold the back of Bakugo’s head.
“Why thank you,” He said and tilted his head down to plant a kiss on top of Bakugo’s head.
“This is nice,” Bakugo mumbles into his chest.
“It would be nicer if we had some chocolate chip pancakes,” Shinsou yelled from the couch.
“Could you three not ruin every nice moment I’m having this morning? What are you all even doing here?” Bakugo asked as he let go of Kiri and began to pour the pancake batter in the pan.
“We wouldn’t have to ruin the moments if you remembered to feed us. We need food. That’s why we’re here,” Shinsou retorted.
“Take-out exists,” Bakugo grumbled.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I only know Kacchan’s cooking,” Kami said as he walked into the living room, fully clothed.
“Don’t call me that pikachu,” Bakugo sent him a glare.
“You call me pikachu what even-”
“Anyways, do you guys want chocolate chips?” Kirishima asked.
“Yes please,” Todoroki spoke for them.
Kirishima and Bakugo continue to make pancakes until 25 minutes later they’re finally done.
“Come get breakfast losers,” Bakugo yelled to them.
Soon enough they were all seated around the table that Kirishima set for them.
“Wow these look amazing!” Midoriya smiled at the food like he hadn’t eaten in days.
“Well of course they do, We made them,” Bakugo referenced to him and Kirishima.
“Thank you,” The other four say in unison and begin to dig in.
Kirishima and Bakugo sit on one end of the table across from each other.
“Why did you not put chocolate chips in yours?” Bakugo gestures to Kirishima’s pancakes with his fork.
“Oh I wanted fruit. Plus I figured I’d just try yours,” Kiri smiled at the blonde. Everyone was smart enough to not bring up the blush on his face, instead they kept it to themselves. A conversation started and 20 minutes later they were having a friendly debate on whether the milk goes first or the cereal.
“Okay but does it matter?” Todoroki asked.
“Yes babe,” MIdoriya sighed, “People who put milk first are heathens,”
“I put milk first,”
“Kami you’re joking, right?” Kiri asked.
“I live with you!! You should have seen me make myself breakfast by now!!” Kami groaned. At this point Bakugo had left the conversation and was on his last few bites of his last pancake. He subtly slid his hand across the table when Kiri wasn’t talking to the others, and tapped on Kiri’s hand. This of course Kirishima noticed and in an instant, Bakugo had all of Kirishima’s attention.
“Do you want some before it’s gone?” He asked, gesturing to his pancake. Kiri nods and smiles. Bakugo picks up a piece with his fork and brings it up to Kirishima’s mouth. Kiri is taken aback by the sudden affection but gladly accepts.
“Somehow they make me feel single. And I’m married,” Todoroki looks at Kirishima and Bakugo who are in their own bubble.
“Give it a little while, they will be too,” Midoriya snickered.
Well soon enough that ‘little while’ came. However it was not a ‘little while’, it was two whole years with a little in change.
“Ei I know you know I like hiking, and we do this every year for our anniversary, but did it really have to be today?” Bakugo asks Kirishima as they walk up the trail of Mount Fuji.
“Yes Kat. It’s important I promise,” Kiri turned back, giving him a little smile and grabbing his hand to pull him along.
“It’s your fault I’m like this. You got too excited about today and went too rough yesterday. You're lucky I even said yes,” Bakugo teases Kiri.
“I know I am,” Kirishima says as he continues to walk to their annual picnic spot.
“No comment back? Ei you know I would never say no right?” Bakugo catches up to Kirishima, not letting go of his hand and walking side by side with him.
“That’s what I’m hoping,” Kirishima looked to the side to hide his blush. A feeling began to swell in Bakugo, something he couldn’t quite place his finger on.
“We’re here,” Kirishima said as he pulled Bakugo through a small path they made about a year ago. They walk into the clearing to see Todoroki, Midoriya, Shinsou, Kaminari, Mina, and Sero all standing in a line, waiting for them.
“Eijirou I know you did not bring me here to spend our anniversary with them too,” Bakugo sighed without taking his eyes off the idiots that were his friends.
“Funny seeing you here Kacchan,” Midoriya giggled.
“Yeah right, what a big coincidence,” Bakugo grumbled back.
“Our lives are a series of coincidental meetings apparently,” Shinsou said with a grin on his face.
Now that is weird. Eye bags never smiles unless it’s dunce face… Bakugo thought and turned around to face Kirishima.
“What can I say except turn back around?” Kiri said with a bright smile on his face. Bakugo rolled his eyes and turned back around, only to have his breath hitch in his throat at the sight. His friends were holding signs with big, black letters written on them.
‘Bakugo Katsuki, will you marry me?’
Bakugo whipped back around after regaining his senses to see Kirishima down on one knee with a red velvet box in his hand, and a silver ring inside.
“Katsuki. I love you so much. I think I’ve loved you since the day you walked into the gym. When we were at the park that day, you had no connection to me whatsoever, yet you took the time to wake me up and ‘make sure I didn’t get robbed’. Looking back it was probably a failed attempt at flirting but I liked it anyway. The first time you slept over was the night Midoriya had his housewarming party. I didn’t know you were going to be there but when I saw you, god you looked amazing. Then this weird thought popped into my head. I didn’t want to share you with anyone else. You just looked perfect. I think that was the point where we truly clicked. Then we started texting and going on dates… I don’t even know why I’m doing a recap, you were there for all of it,” Kirishima paused to look up at Bakugo, who had tears falling down his cheeks and a stunned look on his face, “What I’m trying to say is, I fell madly in love with you, and I still am today. I believe I will be for the rest of my life… so if you would do me the honors and make that possible, that would mean the world to me,” Kirishima finished and wiped a tear from his eye. Bakugo didn’t say anything. He just clumsily shuffled his hands in his pockets then stumbled down onto one knee, pulling out a small black box. He looked up at Kirishima.
“I’ve been carrying this around for weeks. I thought it would be best to just carry it at all times because what if the right moment comes and I didn’t have it?” Bakugo opens the little box, “I fell in love with you too Ei. When we had conversations you were easy to talk to, you looked past the asshole a lot of people think I am. I would have been just friends with you if that’s what you wanted. I just found myself wanting to be at your side. I think you’re right about the party. When I saw you looking like that, I wanted you to pin me to a wall and kiss the fuck out of me. I love you Ei. I love your stories, the fact you learned how to make pancakes to both impress me and so we had something to do together. You let me teach you how to cook other foods too. You also kept up with the cleaning with me. Not out of obligation, I could tell you wanted to, I was just there to give you the little push to do it. I can’t believe you’ve stuck up with all the little tedious things I do. I hope you can keep up with them for the rest of our lives because my answer is yes if that wasn’t obvious already,” Bakugo pulled the ring out of the bos and grabbed Kirishima’s hand and slid it onto his finger. Kirishima repeated the same process with Bakugo’s hand. At this point they were both a crying mess, but neither of them cared. Kirishima pulled Bakugo in for a kiss as they kneeled on the ground, happy tears streaming down their faces.
The rest of the day was spent in their little clearing away from the rest of the world. Just Kirishima, Bakugo, and the best friends they could ask for.
