Chapter Text

“Minho, would you please stop fidgeting?” Hyunjin sighed, trying to pin the flowers on Minho’s suit without hurting him.

“It’s not my fault!”

“Yes, it’s!” the younger boy groaned, trying to make Minho stay in one position for longer than one second. The boy was nervously tugging on the hem of his sleeves, bouncing in his toes. “Yeji, sweetheart. Can you bring a glass of water to your uncle?”

Yeji, who was making a flower bouquet from flowers Hyunjin didn’t use for Minho’s boutonnière, just smiled at her dad and ran out of the room, already knowing where the bottles were. It was not her first trip today. “Just stay calm,” Hyunjin muttered.

“How can I stay calm?” Minho looked at him with wide eyes, lips trembling.

“I swear to god, this is even worse than the coronation.” Seungmin, who was sitting on one of the comfy chairs, said, looking up from his phone. Hyunjin just hummed in agreement, triumphantly cheered when he was finally able to pin the white flower down.

“That was just a coronation.” he cried out. “This is a wedding!”

“ Just a coronation.” Seungmin snickered, shaking his head. Minho was being dramatic for absolutely nothing at all. “I’m sure your subjects would love to hear that.”

Minho just blinked at him a few times, his face absolutely without any emotions. Then his eyes grew unbelievably big and he gasped. “I’m getting married. Oh my fucking god, I’m getting married.”

“Yes, you are. I’m glad that you’re aware of it.” Hyunjin rolled his eyes again, reevaluating all of his life choices.

“Dad!” a loud voice came from the hallway and just a moment later a small girl appeared, running straight towards Minho who crunched down to catch her.

“Hi, Lia.” Minho grinned, picking the girl up so he could kiss her on her round cheeks. “How are you.”

Lia smiled at him giving him a loud peck on his nose. “We decorated the ballroom! Uncle Felix helped a lot but uncle Binnie was making funny faces at us so Ryunjin was just laughing and not helping us at all. But we finished it. It’s so pretty, dad!”

Minho grinned at his little girl, laughing loudly. “Uncle Binnie did what?”

“He was being a meanie!” Yeji added, sitting on Seungmin’s lap. She ran back to the room with the glass of water her dad asked her, meeting Lia on her way back.

“How could he.” Hyunjin gasped, giving Minho the glass of water he took from his daughter before she jumped at Seungmin. Lia kicked her legs a little so Minho put her back down, the girl running to Seunmin, climbing on his lap right next to Yeji.

Hyunjin turned his attention back to Minho, starting to work on his hair, the older man managing to ruin his hair from running his finger through them all the time. From up close, he could see how bad was Minho shaking, nervous fingers playing with the little buttons on the sleeves of his suit.

“Hey,” he whispered, taking Minho’s face between his palms. “It’s going to be okay. There’s nothing to worry about.”

“But-”

“No buts. In a moment, you will walk down the aisle and at the end, there will be Jisun, waiting for you with his wide smile and squirrel-like cheeks, all adorable and beautiful. There is nothing to worry about.”

“Okay. No buts.” he took a deep breath, his shoulders lifting a little.

Hyunjin looked at him, his lips stretching into a soft smile. Minho looked incredible. He was wearing a dark blue suit with traditional flower patterns on it with a belt over it, making him look just like his royal ancestors. He looked like a true monarch and Hyunjin was so proud of him.

Just when he wanted to take back the now empty glass another little girl ran into the small room.

“Uncle Jinnie!” she stopped right in front of Hyunjin, a big grin on her face. “Uncle Channie says that Appa is ready.”

Minho took a deep breath, trying to calm down his racing heart.

“Dad, you look beautiful,” Yuna said, finally looking at her dad.

“Thank you so much, princess.” Minho smiled at her, stroking her hair gently. “And how does Appa look?”

“He is so pretty! You will definitely cry when you see him!” Yuna exclaimed, clapping her hands a few times.

“Thanks, Yuna. That’s exactly what I was needing to hear right now.” Minho groaned. Of course, Jisung is going to look beautiful. He always does.

“Hey,” they all turned towards the door, hearing a deep voice. Felix was walking towards them with a girl holding his hand. “How is it going?”

“Splendid.” Hyunjin snicker, walking to Seungmin, picking Lia from his lap so he could sit there instead of her. The little girl frowned at him and with a loud huff jumped on his lap, making both Hyunjin and Seungmin groan. Ryunjin, who was still holding Felix’s hand, rolled her eyes at them, smiling a little.

“You look amazing Minho,” Felix said to the man, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. Then he grinned, his eyes almost disappearing. “ And so does Jisung so be ready.”

“Not ready. Not at all.” Minho muttered.

He could feel small hands curling around his thigh and a face pressing against his hip. Yuna wrapped herself around him, her big eyes looking up at him. “It’s going to be fine. Appa loves you a lot!”

“Thanks, princess.” he tapped at the button of her nose, grinning. He then heard a small yelp and then there was another pair of hands around his other thigh, and another pair of big round eyes staring up at him. Lia pressed her cheek against his hip, squeezing him tightly. Minho hugged them both as best as he could in this position.

He could feel the tears running down his face, looking down at his two beautiful girls. They were the best thing that has ever happened to him and he was so grateful to have them in his life, seeing them grow up. Maybe Lia officially joined them a little bit later but that didn’t change a thing, he loved them both equally, never taking their presence for granted.

“Minho. It’s time.” another new voice said.

Minho looked up. Jeongin was standing in the doorway, holding the hands of his twin daughters on each side. He was smiling at Minho, knowing too well how nervous his older brother was.

Minho took a deep breath. “Okay. Girls, are you ready?”

All the girls cheered at him, all having a wide grin lightening upon their faces. Yuna and Lia were still hugging Minho’s middle, Yeji was sitting on Seungmin’s lap, her head on Hyunjin’s shoulder, Ryunjin was bouncing on her feet next to Felix and both Chaeryeong and Chaeyong were holding Jeongin’s hands. They were all wearing beautiful princess-like dresses, a light pink flowy skirt with flowers and leaves sewn in random patterns. Each dress was a little bit different, the girls themselves did the flower decoration.

“Let’s go.” Felix said, looking up from the text he just got from Changbin.“Yuna, Lia, grab your father and let’s go.”

The two girls took their dad’s hands with determined smiles. “Appa is waiting,” Yuna said and tugged at Minho’s hand.

He smiled at her and walked towards the door, holding tightly their hands. He stopped right in front of the door, where Jeongin was still standing. Seungmin stood up from the chair, Yeji still in his arms and walked towards Minho, putting his daughter down so she could join her friends.

“Good luck, try not to stumble,” Seungmin smirked, patting Minho’s back. Minho just whined at him, Hyunjin smacking the back of his husband’s head with a tired huff. He pushed him out of the room, stepping on Seungmin’s place and hugging him tightly. “It’s going to be okay.”

Minho hugged his friend back, squeezing him maybe too tightly. Hyunjin pressed a soft kiss on his forehead and walked out of the room to join his husband and together they walked away to join the rest of the guests.

Felix also hugged him, his eyes shining and he was smiling widely. After he realised Minho from his tight grip, he pressed a soft kiss on the top of Ryunjin’s head and joined the two boys.

Now it was just him, Jeongin and the girls in the room. He took six bouquets of the same flowers Minho had pinned on the suit that was prepared by Hyunjin and he gave one to each girl.

“Chaeryeong, you will be with Ryunjin on the front and Chaeyong will be with Yeji behind them,” he said, gently pushing the twins towards Minho. They walked over to their places, holding hands. Jeongin then put both his hands on Minho’s shoulders. “Good luck.”

He then turned around and walked out of the room.

“Let’s go,” Minho said, the girls responding with another round of enthusiastic cheers. Ryunjin and Chaeryeong swung their joined hands and started walking towards the ballroom. Minho and his daughters follow them with Chaeyong and Yeji behind them.

They walked down the hall that led to the ballroom, stopping in front of the door leading to the room. Jeongin was waiting for him there, ready to open the door.

With a last deep breath, Minho nodded and his brother opened the door for him, stepping aside.

Chaeryeong and Ryunjin entered the spacious ballroom. They’ve decided to have their ceremony in the same ballroom they performed together for the first time. It was maybe too big for the number of people they invited but the girls liked the idea and they decided to decorate the whole by themselves, just with the help of a few palace staff and their fathers.

There were long strips of white fabric decorated with the same flowers the bouquets were from, hanging from the galleries alongside soft fairy lights. The whole ballroom was immersed in soft warm light, the sun rays coming through the large windows illuminating the whole room.

When Minho entered the ballroom, soft music started to play, all the attention on him. There were just a few people in the room, only closest family and friends with Younghyun’s band as a special guest because they decided to use their instruments. They were now playing an instrumental version of Jisung’s favourite song, a small surprise for him from Minho.

Speaking of Jisung.

He was standing at the other end of the room between Chan and Changbin on each side, the two boys grinning widely. Minho was looking at him, his eyes wide, brain shutting down. Without his daughters leading him down the aisle, he would just stop right there, just staring at the beautiful man in front of him.

Jisung was absolutely breathtaking. He was wearing the same traditional styled suit just like Minho was, but he was in a dark purple, instead of Minho’s blue. He was also not wearing a belt, the suit opened in the front, the fabric falling loosely around his waist. His hair got longer, almost covering his eyes when he had no time styling it. Now, his hair was slightly pushed back, exposing his forehead.  He was nibbling at his lower lip, almost drawing blood out of it. His eyes were shining brightly, and Minho could see the unshed tears in them.

He felt a small hand squeezing his palm and he looked down at Yuna, who was looking at him with her big round eyes. He smiled at her, squeezing her small hand back. He turned his head on his other side, smiling at Lia who was just like her sister watching him with a soft smile on her petite face.

He then looked straight ahead, meeting Jisung’s eyes, the boy watching him coming closer. He could feel his smile getting bigger and bigger, his nerves disappearing as the distance between them was decreasing. That was it. He had nothing to feel. It was Jisung. Jisung, who stayed with him during his highs and lows. When the burden of his crown on his head got too heavy, pushing him on the ground, exhausted and desperate for another life. Jisung, who made sure their daughter had everything they needed. Jisung was there for him without hesitation, without expecting something back. And Minho loved him. He loved him with his whole heart, trying his best to be the partner Jisung deserved. To be the king Jisung could be proud of. With that he leaned down to kiss their daughters on their foreheads, gently pushing them towards Jeongin who was standing next to their parents, who were both crying by now.

He then took the last step that was separating them and took Jisung’s hands in his.
