Chapter Text
Nedzu simply stared at the screen, surrounded by two dozen others with far more readably shocked faces as they watched Izuku Midoriya in 4K.
Keeping his composure as the principle of the school, he managed to ask blankly, "How did this happen...?"
Without delay, half the class erupted but it was Ashido's voice that came out fastest. "We don't know sir! We think he got hit by a villain's quirk early in the afternoon and it's somehow activated and trapped him inside the movie -but we're not sure how that's even possible...!" she managed to squeeze out in a single breath.
"A quirk...? That's worrying... How many others may this villain have trapped inside screens before?" Nedzu muttered to himself with a paw on his chin as he observed the screen and focussed intently on Nick Fury, an identity kept very well hidden but still a name that echoed throughout the halls of fame in the hero-ing world...
"Perhaps this is timer based? Or perhaps he needs to reach the 'end' of the movie in order to escape...?"
"We can't be certain Midoriya will definitely escape... Quirks like this are usually unpredictable; he could end up being trapped there for god knows how long. We need to find the villain who did this to him..." Aizawa muttered, silently brooding in parental-like concern for one of his problem children- key word; his.
"Yes, I suppose quirks and their capabilities are truly becoming quite concerning if this is an example of what such a unique one is capable of." Nedzu spoke with a paw to his chin before turning towards the teachers. "We need to find out who did this and what their quirk is, just as Mr Aizawa said. I want all of you to check every police station in a ten mile radius; every record of recent villain captures since 10am not left unturned... If we find nothing by tomorrow, we extend our search by another ten mile radius. We need to find out who's done this, it is a matter of the protection and safety of one of our own students." he glanced towards the screen, Izuku Midoriya's face flashing across it but on pause. It was already 12am now and, but nobody felt tired enough to sleep with everything that was going on.
"I'll inform Tsukauchi about what's going on and ask him to hold off on moving any of those files at as many of the stations he can contact..." All Might, better known as Toshinori Yagi in his deflated form, managed to mutter as he bit his lip in concern for his sucessor.
Nedzu seemed to notice this. "Everything will be alright, Toshinori-san. We'll fix this."
Uraraka was the one who stood forward, the voice of all her classmates. "Sir, I... don't think I'm going to be able to sleep anytime soon.... I want to keep watching Deku -and so does everybody else I assume..." she glanced around at her classmates who all had concerned determination on their faces. "Maybe Deku will find a way out himself at the end, like you considered?"
Nodding, Nedzu agreed with her. "Yes... I plan to stay behind and keep track of everything myself, anyway -if the movie actually does come to an end, to see if things are solved. I suppose it would be quite unjust of me to send you all to your rooms in a situation such as this... So let's just call this an 'exempt curfew' and get started with the movie again."
Quietly, the students celebrated the leniency of the headmaster whilst the teachers all nodded before they began to filter out of the room, plenty aware that their night was going to be a long, arduous and sleepless one with a lot of searching through paperwork, but none complained as they knew the importance of doing this quickly before there were too many police reports to search through over the coming days...
They needed to find a way to bring Midoriya back.
