Chapter Text

"So, I've heard you and your girlfriend are having a rough time"

Said Emily to the woman in front of her and moving a piece of her hair to the back of her ears. She was so blind to see what was in front of her the entire time.

"Well, actually-

Started the blonde girl but was interrupted once she felt someone's hand on her waist. She closed her mouth as an instinct and looked to her left encountering the person whose hand was on her body.

"Hey, babe"

Said Michelle while kissing her cheek and smiling at her. Clare couldn't be more confused, that is not what they have arranged the night before. What was she doing? Why was she interfering her moment with Emily?

Michelle didn't know why she was walking to a hidden corner of the school where couples use to hang out and kiss without anyone interrupting them. She blindly followed a pair of blue eyes and blonde hair in the distance. The only thing she was sure of, was the fact that she needed to talk to Clare as soon as possible. She had a...something...inside her chest that was bothering her for a long time. She had to get it out of her heart or else...she didn't want to deal with unnecessary emotions. Also, she couldn't help following her and that girl Emily to the "making out wall"

"Hey, you!"

Responded the short girl while nervously looking at Emily. They were being extremely obvious, how hasn't she noticed the relationship was fake?

"Is everything all right?"

Questioned the curly girl to Clare and pulling her closer to her body, activating unexpected fireworks on the short girl's skin. Meanwhile, Michelle was intensively looking at Emily with a dark expression on her face that made Clare feel even more confused.

"We were talking about you, actually"

Responded Emily getting dangerously closer to Michelle's face that seemed to be shooting fire through the eyes. What was wrong with her?

"Were you? But we are perfect, right hunny?"

Answered Michelle using a weird sweet voice that her best friend has definitely never listened coming from her lips before. She was acting the opposite of herself and Clare had no idea what she had to do as a consequence of her uncommon behaviour.

"Babe, can I talk with you for a second?"

Murmured the wee girl while grabbing her hand and taking her to a private place, leaving Emily and her beautiful complexion behind. She forced herself to look directly into her emerald eyes even when the sight made her heartbeat uncontrollably for an odd reason.

"What are you doing? I was talking with Emily and you just interrupted us!"

Michelle had no logical reason to explain her actions from before. The only thing she was sure of, was the fact that she knew she had to follow Clare. Somehow witnessing her talking to someone else, smiling at someone else. It made her stomach feel bad and her heart rush inside her chest.

"She was looking at you like you were a ride. Doesn't she know I'm your girlfriend?"

Answered the curly girl while grabbing her girlfriend's cheek and smiling directly into her face. She was doing it to prove her point, not to see her amazing eyes more deeply, not she wasn't. Clare opened her mouth to continue arguing with her but suddenly looked down to the floor under her feet.

Otherwise, the curly girl was still fighting with her unexpectedly necessity of kissing Clare's lips and the intense bad feeling in the bottom of her stomach. She felt as something was eating her alive the moment she saw Emily and Clare together. Strangely, she wanted to be as tender as possible to prove Emily for once and for all that Clare was with her. Wait. What the fuck?

No matter how much Michelle wanted to figure out why her emotions were confusing her from the depth of her soul, she was unable to stop her brain from working the moment a pair of soft lips touched hers. Clare was suddenly kissing her and she was not completely sure why. It was problematic in more than one sense, not only because she wished to continue kissing her indefinitely but also because she was not comfortable with Emily around. She mistrusted her for an unknown reason.

"I kissed Emily last night"

Whispered Clare to her lips making her move away from her both physically and emotionally. Michelle's eyes were not brave enough to confront her best friend, she didn't have a clear answer to her unhappiness.

"Michelle?"

Her whisper encouraged Michelle to move further from her and say something unexpected.

"You did what?"

What is wrong with her? Why did she react like that? Questioned the blonde girl to herself while feeling the bad feeling in her stomach grow significantly.

"You kissed her?!"

Irritatedly said Michelle while moving her hands to the air and moving further from a clueless Clare. The girl could only remain silenced trying to understand the scene in front of her.

"Michelle what are you-

Started the blonde girl but she couldn't continue talking because she was suddenly interrupted again

"Fuck off Clare"

Said the curly girl while looking at the blue eyes in front of her, it was painful in more than one way. Clare had no reasonable reason to feel as angry as she felt. Michelle had no clue why suddenly her heart felt empty. Neither did she knew why she was saying the words coming from her lips.

"You have no right to do this Michelle!"

Exclaimed Clare while getting closer to her. She had no reason to cry like she was doing neither she believed she could ever feel something breaking inside of her, like a piece of glass falling to the floor.

"You know I like Emily!"

Screamed a confused girl with intense blue eyes and a worried look on her face. The dark feeling inside her chest continued and she had no possibility of stopping the tears that were burning her face.

"Don't try to fix this, Clare"

Said Michelle putting one hand in front of her face and looking to the floor under her feet. She had never felt so disappointed and betrayed.

"Get off me! Leave me alone!"

Said Michelle when she felt the small girl's body closer to hers. Her voice was strong yet her face showed emotions Clare has never witnessed in her before. Her eyes were shiny and lost. All Clare could do was nod with her head and attempt to touch her cheek, but it was useless because Michelle parted from her physically and emotionally.

"Shit!"

Exclaimed Michelle while closing her fists and feeling imminent tears coming to her eyes. What the fuck was wrong with her? Why did Clare have to kiss someone else?. Clare tried to get closer to her and calm her down. But it was useless because a strong hand was on her cheek. She never believed someone like Michelle could slap her as she did. She was her best friend for God's sake!. Sadly, Michelle has hit her and she had no reasonable reason to look at her best friend to the eye again.

"Clare I-"

Whispered the tall girl when she realized what she has done to her best friend. She tried to move her hand and reach her face, but It was impossible, her body did not respond to her indications.

"Just go"

Said Clare while wiping one small tear from her left eye and avoiding her best friend's green eyes. The silence that followed was strong enough to listen to her own heart beating inside her chest and how it suddenly stopped beating. Clare tried to lift her eyes and face her for the last time, she couldn't find strength inside herself to do it so. She realized everything was ended once she felt the empty space Michelle left between them. She still had no explanation for the deep sensation of loneliness inside her chest.

"Goodbye, Clare"

Murmured the curly girl while slowly lifting her eyes to look at her for the last time. For the first time in her lifetime, Clare was completely sure her heart was broken inside of her. However, There was one fissure in her reasoning she couldn't help listening into her mind.

Clare realized she has never given Michelle her heart to break and she has managed to break it anyway.

One week passed by, and yet neither Michelle nor Clare had seen each other face to face. The first one was constantly avoiding seeing the latter and as a consequence, she hasn't seen her friends as well. The only person she was in contact with was her cousin who lived with her and she had no energy to ignore. Nonetheless, ever since the breakup James decided to avoid mention Clare or the places he went to in case her cousin would break into pieces again.

After the fight, Michelle refused to explain the reason why she wasn't Clare's girlfriend no longer. She has lost her euphoria and all her interactions ended vaguely with responses consisting of either "yes" or "no". She didn't even insult him like she used to do before. James didn't know his cousin too much, they have known each other for not much more than one year. However, he was able of seeing something else was behind the curtain and it remained a secret waiting to be revealed. He wanted to help his cousin and rebuilt her broken pieces, yet, he consciously knew Michelle would never open herself so intimately with him and expose her real emotions. But he had someone in mind whom his cousin had trusted her life more than one time before.

"Hey! Why does it smell like burned hair in here?"

Said Erin while looking at an immobile curly woman whose head was on a red pillow. When her friend didn't respond, she gently brushed her hair in an effort to make her react and do something to make sure she was actually breathing. Fortunately, she slowly lifted her head and looked at her directly to the eye.

"Go away"

Murmured with a tiny voice and moving her head to the pillow again. But Erin knew her intentions and took away the pillow from her bed throwing it to the floor. Now she had to talk to her, right?. Well, she was mistaken apparently.

"What are you doing?"

Questioned the curly woman while lifting her eyebrows and feeling her anger increasing drastically. Erin needed to go now, or she would force her to do it so.

"And you?"

Exclaimed the blonde woman while looking at her green eyes forcing her to answer the question. She wanted a clear answer of the true reason why Michelle kept locking up into herself after what happened with Clare.

"Look, I understand you and Clare broke up but-

"Never say that name again"

Roughly interrupted Michelle while covering herself with her sheets and closing her eyes. Erin had triggered her mind again and now Clare was inside on her head with her stupid blue eyes and blonde hair. Thanks to Erin now she had to drink one more cup of whiskey to turn off her brain and bury Clare inside a dark corner of her memory.

"You can't avoid her forever"

Whispered to the woman by whom she was being ignored and remained in an intense silence until Michelle sat on the bed and grabbed her shoulders. While she was looking at her best friend to the eyes she was able of identifying something she hasn't witnessed in her green eyes ever before, they reflected pure and complete sorrow. She has never seen her best friend heartbroken before and for the first time, a person skilful with words was incapable of formulating a sentence.

"Sure I can"

Responded Michelle going back to her comfortable position on the bed and leaving Erin still speechless on the side of her bed next to her.

"What happened between you two? Both of you won't say a word and it's turning me crazy!"

Confessed Erin when out of a sudden she woke up and consider leaving the room without accomplishing the reason for her visit. Nonetheless, she quickly went downstairs and looked for something her best friend would give her life for. When Michelle heard her friend has gone she believed the torture was over and she could sleep for the first time in days. Nevertheless, her predictions were wrong and she realized it when a familiar sound came to her ears. It was similar to the sound of water and a mirror being hit together. But she knew it was definitely not water when the distinctive smell of alcohol reached her nostrils. As an impulse she suddenly uncovered and her eyes finally saw the object her friend was holding in her hands. It was a bottle of an expensive whiskey she has bought to herself with her one-year savings. It was all she has ever saved for, it was hers.

"If you don't tell me what is going on I'll let this bottle fall"

Threatened Erin while moving the object she was holding back and forward. With every movement, the curly girl was getting closer to her trying to save it in case it ends up on the floor. Her plan was working perfectly.

"Fine"

Vaguely responded Michelle while taking a deep breath and finding the strength to tell her friend what she wanted to hear.

"First of all, you need to know a thing"

Continued the girl while waiting for her to interrupt her story and shut her up with one of her speeches. But it never happened, she would have to say it all.

"It was never real"

Finally. She could technically say she has broken up her own condition, however, many things have been broken ever since that afternoon in the closet. Erin's expression was priceless, she definitely had no clue her best friends were not dating and it was all a plan to get someone else's heart. Despite being incredibly surprised, she managed to keep the bottle in her hand once she moved a few inches away from Michelle as a natural consequence of her shock.

"It was all a plan to make Emily notice-

She couldn't pronounce her name, not after the rollercoaster of emotions she has been feeling recently. And most importantly, not after what her fake girlfriend had done to her. Unluckily, she had to say the infamous name in order to explain her plan correctly. Once she opened her eyes, an action she didn't know was doing, Erin nodded with her head showing her sufficient support to say her name after a week without her.

"Clare"

An instant shiver ran over her entire body instantly making her almost lose her balance. For an even odder reason, the heartbeat of her heart felt stronger on her chest.

"The plan went well until she decided to ruin it"

Angrily said Michelle feeling unwanted tears approaching her eyes. In a desperate attempt to focus her attention on something else but her imminent tears, the curly girl started walking in circles around Erin who interrupted her efforts to avoid tearing up.

"What did she do?"

Questioned the blonde girl following Michelle's eyes and spinning in a circle as a consequence.

"Emily"

Her friend was not saying the entire reason why the fake relationship has broken. But Erin has seen too many "friends" episodes to know the reason why Michelle believed Clare somehow ruined the whole experience. But, unfortunately, she was unable to name her condition.

"Can I ask you something?"

Interrogated Erin while leaving aside the bottle she was holding and making Michelle stop walking to face her directly. Still confused, the curly girl nodded with her head.

"Are you sure it was all fake?"

Her question locked a deeper meaning Michelle wasn't sure she could handle without alcohol in her system. Like she always did, she attempted to grab the bottle of whiskey from the place where Erin has left it and drink a little amount of the brew. But her plan was unsuccessfully accomplished once Erin stopped her hand from touching the bottle. Michelle tried to force her friend to let her body go, but Erin was not going to do it so. As a consequence, she sat on the bed and then covered her face with her hand.

"I guess it was not, aye?"

Mocked Erin while putting one hand on her friend's shoulder, trying to help her talk. Michelle forced herself to laugh and calm her beating heart.

"There's something wrong with me, for a moment I thought it was true Erin"

Confesses Michelle while lowering her eyes to the floor, being too afraid to face what Erin was about to say. However, her friend was not going to judge her, thankfully.

"I will ask you something else but please promise you won't get mad at me"

Started Erin calmy speaking in case her friend would scape her question again. When Michelle didn't run away she questioned.

"Could it be the possibility that you-may, probably feel something for Clare?"

Her question was directly hitting the desperate part of her mind that kept her feelings inside of her own silenced thoughts about the recent situation with Clare. She wanted to intentionally deny any glance of herself feeling something for another human heart. Nonetheless, it wasn't until she remembered Clare's tears and how powerless she felt the moment after seeing Emily flirting with her that a terrifying realization came into her mind putting her own world upside down.

"What am I supposed to do?"

Responded with her heart beating intensively inside her chest and preventing her lungs from breathing correctly. Not only she was terrified about the possibility of having romantic feelings for her best friend, but the constant fear that her feelings won't be corresponded was devouring her hopes little by little.

"What if she doesn't feel the same?"

Questioned again while feeling tears coming to her eyes again, she covered her mouth with her hand trying to catch some small drops of her almost tearing eyes. Erin knew she couldn't answer either of those questions. Yet, she comforted her best friend the best way she could.

"Who knows, maybe you weren't the only one feeling it was real"

Michelle nodded with her head and hugged her friend. She didn't like being vulnerable and showing her real concerns and worries. Thankfully, Erin didn't ask more difficult questions and remained hugging her until the tears stopped. Now that the truth was out, there was one little detail none of them knew the solution to.

What is the next move to be done now?

"You seem lost"

Said a black-haired woman to the blonde girl in front of her. Her eyes were directly looking at her but she wasn't paying attention to her completely. She seemed lost in her own world, and it made Emily worry for her, it was her friend after all, right?.

"I'm fine"

Responded Clare while settling on the chair and grabbing a piece of her burger.

"You're not, Clare"

Said the black-haired woman while getting closer to her and looking at her directly to her blue eyes. But Clare had a strong front and won't be falling soon. Ever since Clare has broken up with her ex-girlfriend, she has been acting weirdly around her, she denies mentioning her or her past relationship while saying the past belongs to the past. Yet, Emily knew there's something more she has been avoiding telling her, if her new friend was suffering she wanted to know and help her.

"I said I'm fine"

Repeated the blonde girl while drinking a sip of soda from a straw. Her voice was stronger than before and the most confident Emily has ever heard before. However, her eyes betrayed her and showed something completely different.

"Is it about Michelle?"

Questioned again while looking at her and realizing she wasn't making eye contact whatsoever. After hearing her name, Clare carelessly grabbed a fried potato and said

"Who is she?"

Avoiding recognizing someone like her wouldn't make things better. In fact, it would hurt her even more. So, Emily decided to push further on her denial. Out of a sudden and with a quick movement, she grabbed her portion of fries and her hamburger. She would have to talk now.

"Hey! I was-

"You can't pretend she doesn't exist!"

Exclaimed the black-haired woman while looking at her blue eyes begging for her to accept her own emotions. Also, Emily has noticed her friends didn't even know what to about Clare and Michelle anymore, and they were their friends!. A strong silence invaded the table and Emily could identify the blonde girl in front of her fighting to keep a strong front and never face her truth, but suddenly, Clare talked.

"She never did actually"

Her voice was almost a whisper, it was imperceptible and for a moment Emily believed she had imagined her words. She opened her mouth to talk but she was interrupted by the woman in front of her.

"It was all fake"

Clarified Clare while crossing her arms around her chest and avoiding looking at her eyes directly. Emily remained in silence trying to understand the situation completely, but she would need more explanations from her in order to do it so.

"We, well I actually, wanted to make you look at me more often but then...

Her voice suddenly transformed into a small whisper that closed any possibility for Emily to listen to her. She was clearly having problems solving whatever happened with Michelle, maybe she wasn't admitting it, but she was showing it with her body language. She seemed desperate and confused, she needed her help now.

"You fell for her"

Emily said directly to her blue eyes that opened widely after listening to her words. Clare opened and closed her mouth several times forcing herself to produce any understandable word. Yet, she was unable to formulate any.

"I would never- why do you think that?"

Questioned Clare still having her eyes widely opened and putting her elbows on the table in front of her. Why was she suggesting she could remotely-

"I never thought it was fake, you really looked like a real couple"

Said the black-haired woman never leaving her eyes from her. She could witness the woman in front of her was having an internal fight with herself and for the moment she was incapable of denying her words again. She desired Clare would finally admit there was something more going on inside of her.

"Ok, let me ask you something, aye?"

Continued Emily while grabbing a fried potato and putting it in front of her line of sight.

"Why do you like this?"

Questioned while moving the food closer to her.

"It's fried, it's salty and it's easy to eat"

Answered Clare with a confused look on her face. She had no clue why the black-haired woman was asking such a weird question. However, Emily had a plan.

"Why do you like me?"

Pretty simple. Thought Clare as soon as she heard the question, she has even written a list of reasons why she was into her. She had three reasons so far.

"You are beautiful, my heart is beating faster right now and I wanted to kiss you"

Responded the blonde girl confidently showing the girl in front of her a big smile. Nonetheless, Emily made a question that made Clare's confidence fall to the floor.

"Do you think Michelle is beautiful?"

Question number one. One month ago it would be easy to respond. Of course she believed she was beautiful, she was one of the most beautiful girls she knew. However, after dating her for a time she started to think she had more outstanding qualities she had never seen before. Was her heart beating faster than before?

"Yes, she has beautiful eyes"

Nervously responded Clare while uncomfortably moving on her chair.

"Did you want to kiss her at least once?"

Question two. If she would be completely honest with herself, she did want to kiss her intentionally more than once. She suddenly remembered their last kiss which was ruined by her and the reason for their breakup. Crap, Emily was good.

"Yes"

This time her response was a small whisper. Emily had to get closer to her to listen properly.

"And your heart is beating faster now, am I right?"

She didn't even have to respond because Emily already knew the answer. She knew it from the beginning. Clare was in love with her ex-girlfriend and she couldn't be happier for her. Unless well, Michelle didn't feel the same way.

"You are wrong, I can't like her"

Said the blonde girl denying with her head and closing her eyes. She wasn't into Michelle, she couldn't be in love with her. It was all fake for God's sake!. she never kissed her intentionally, she would never-

"Why?"

Emily's question was simple and complicated simultaneously. She had many practical reasons why she would never be with Michelle. She was her best friend, she has never shown interest in other women and she was definitely not serious with her, not even once. But, incredibly, her experience dating with her and the uncountable times she had to remember to herself it was all a plan to get Emily's affections made her heart shutter inside of her. She couldn't like Michelle, could she? And most importantly-

"Even if I may like her, she would never like me back"

Said Clare more to herself than to Emily who was in front of her. Her heart was suddenly having problems to beat and a shiver was going through her entire body. Accepting the fact that her possible feelings may not be reciprocal was more than she was able of handling.

"There's only one way to know"

She would have to face her face to face. Was she brave enough to tell her how she feels? Could she handle a real broken heart? Could Michelle possibly feel the same for her? Her hopes suddenly arose and fell to the bottom of her stomach.

"I have to face her, right?"

Emily simply nodded with her head and smiled widely at her. There was no other option than to see her again. She hoped the empty space on her heart wasn't a bad sign.

Perhaps only perhaps she would feel the same way.

Clare smiled for the first time in five days.

"If you keep looking at that magazine you'll make a hole in it"

Knowingly said Erin while looking at Michelle who was sitting on a step in front of her. They were on the stairs where a month ago the woman sitting on the steps openly asked her best friend to her girlfriend. Ironically, that same person was( not discretely) looking at her fake ex-girlfriend who was talking with the rest of the group.

"You're being stupid, you know?"

Continued the blonde woman while rolling her eyes and waving to her friends.

"It's better like this"

Responded Michelle refusing to take her eyes away from the blonde woman to which her heart belonged to.

"You're only making yourself suffer, and Clare is suffering too"

Said to her best friend after taking away the magazine from her and making her look at her eyes directly. However, Michelle denied with her head and broke eye contact.

"I just hope Emily makes her happy"

Meanwhile, on the other corner of the school, Clare was talking to James and Emily.

"Clare, are you even listening to me?"

Questioned the English fella she has been ignoring for the past five minutes. She was too focused on two women sitting on the stairs directly in her line of sight. One of them was her best friend, and the other was the person her heart refused to let go of. Still trying to give a small glance to Michelle, Clare simply nodded with her head and touched her chest. Her heart was beating stronger again, excellent.

"What was James talking about?"

Questioned Emily while lifting her eyebrows and pointing out the man next to her. Nonetheless, Clare nodded with her head and it wasn't until she snapped her finger in front of her that the girl in front of her went back to reality.

"You realize she is looking at you too, right?"

Said James while moving slightly her head to the place where his cousin was. However, his action made the small girl move her head down to the floor under her feet denying with her head.

"That's it!"

Abruptly said Emily while lifting her hands to the air and receiving a confused look from her friends. Out of a sudden, she grabbed Clare's hand and dragged her away from James who was next to her. Still in confusion, the blonde girl realized the place her friend was taking her to.

"No, no, Emily let me go!"

Exclaimed the small girl unsuccessfully trying to unhook herself from Emily's hand. But her efforts lead her to nowhere but the place her friend was forcing her to go to.

"Let me go! Now!"

Exclaimed again once she saw a pair of green eyes looking at her closer than before. She hasn't seen those eyes in two weeks and she didn't know how much she has missed them.

"Let me go or-"

Suddenly her mouth was incapable of forming any word and her body decided to stop functioning correctly. Emily has dragged her to the place she wanted to go the most and yet she was too coward to go to. She could have been there in complete silence for an hour or a thousand, she could have pronounced another word but now Erin was holding her hand and taking her to an unknown place. It wasn't until she moved down her eyes to the floor that her mind was able of realizing the situation she has gotten into. What is she supposed to do?

The three girls walked in the hallway until they arrived at a familiar place for all of them. A door labeled "computer room" was facing them and bringing back memories neither of them wanted to remember. Especially the silent couple whose hands Erin was strongly holding. The blonde woman opened the door and guided them to a place where everything began.

"You solve this, now"

Insistently said Erin while opening the closet doors and forcing her two bests friends to get into. The girls tried to convince her begging with her eyes. However, it was too late, they would have to face each other again.

The dark closet suddenly made Clare feel like Hamlet in his castle, trapped and without any possible loophole. When she looked around with her blue eyes, she realized the spider's webs were still in the same place and she was still afraid of facing Michelle's eyes. This time, Emily was not the one for whom her heart was beating for. This time, she was even scarier than before.

Michelle had no clue why Erin had an excellent idea of leaving two people who hated each other inside a dark closet. Ironically, she was inside of it with the only woman she has ever fancied. If God was there, he wanted to make her suffer unimaginably. The silence was too strong that it made it possible for both of them to listen to their own hearts beating strongly on their chests. Little did they know her feelings corresponded. They could have been in silence for much longer but Clare decided it was time to fix things for once and for all.

"I'm sorry"

Whispered while looking at a pair of green eyes she has been daydreaming about. Those same eyes gave her a surprised look that made her break the eye contact.

"Why?"

Questioned Michelle using the same tone and getting closer to her, she hasn't been as closer as now ever since the breakup. Real or not, it was a broken heart for her.

"For everything, the plan, for-"

Clare suddenly stopped talking when the memory of kissing Emily came to her head. She couldn't believe that for a moment she thought Emily was the one she wanted to be with.

"It was my fault, I shouldn't have said anything after..."

Continued Michelle trying to be strong and let Clare go. The only thing she wanted the most was for them to be friends again even if she didn't have the same feelings for her. She could live with a broken heart but not without Clare's friendship.

"This was dumb, right?"

Questioned Clare with a small laugh Michelle has been wanting to listen for two weeks. Her own smile grown wider and out of a sudden, both girls were laughing uncontrollably inside the closet. They remained like that for a few minutes until Clare cleaned a small tear coming from her right eye.

"Can I have my best friend back?"

Asked Michelle begging with her eyes to the blonde woman in front of her. However, Clare didn't answer directly and instead, she hugged her strongly. The curly woman took her chance to appreciate her perfume and possibly the last time to be this closer to her. She was convinced Clare did not want to kiss her, not ever again. After separating, they remained in silence until Clare spoke again.

"Maybe we should forget everything"

Her suggesting was definitely referred to the time they used to date. Fake date actually, to win Emily's heart. Michelle had no problem nodding with her head and smiling at her. She could have even hug James eternally to make Clare happy. The tiny woman smiled at her again but this time her eyes were focused directly on the floor under her feet. She seemed to be having an internal debate about something in her head. It was adorable, at least for Michelle. Suddenly, her favourite pair of blue eyes lifted and looked directly into hers with a suspicious shadow on them.

"Unless"

Started Clare with a little smile and getting closer to Michelle in the small closet. Her actions and proximity made Michelle's heart move up and down on her chest again. What was Clare doing?

"You let me kiss you for real this time"

Was she really saying what she believed she was saying? Could her feeling be corresponded?. Michelle didn't have the answer for either of those questions and the only thing she knew for sure was how deeply she desired to kiss the soft lips she had in front of her. Clare was giving her the chance to take action and make the definitive choice that would drastically change their current relationship. She was able of deciding to be miserable or happy. She could move away and suffer in silence or she could take a risk and give Clare her whole heart. So, consequently, she approached her body to hers until she was only inches away from her lips. So, after seeing Clare's passionate eyes Michelle permitted herself to close her eyes and say directly to her lips.

"I'm waiting"

Her lips were as warm as she remembered them to be, they were soft and familiar. However, the sensation of feeling her own heart fighting with her chest was stronger than before. This time the kiss wasn't planned or performed or by accident. For the first time in her sixteen years of life, Clare was kissing someone she intentionally wanted to do it so. She was in a dark closet with the person she was in love with and she was tasting the cherry flavour that made her pulse go higher. On the other hand, Michelle was still surprised she was not the only one missing someone else's lips. It didn't take long for her to feel Clare's smile on her own, she had to remember herself she was the reason behind that smile. She put a hand on her blonde hair once she felt Clare's hands on her waist. They intensified the kiss until the couple crashed with one of the closet walls making them separate abruptly.

Clare looked at Michelle and her swollen pink lips from the kiss they have just shared, she couldn't avoid but smiling at her.

Michelle admired Clare's blue eyes filled with desire looking at her and she could say being in love with Clare was going to be exciting.

"You haven't seen Titanic?"

Shockingly said Clare to the blonde woman in front of her.

"C'mon Clare, not everyone is a history fan like you"

Responded Erin while rolling her eyes and searching for the rest of the group that was spread on the school field. The break was about to finish and they still haven't brought her food, she was almost starving.

"But there's romance and love!"

Exclaimed Clare with a wide smile on her face.

"Like in pride and prejudice"

Said someone from behind that caught her by surprise. She knew who was without seeing her face. Michelle sat next to her and then said to Erin.

"She won't stop talking about it"

Clare moved her eyes to hers giving an angry look at her. However, she suddenly changed her expression while getting closer to her face.

"You like it, though"
