Chapter Text
If you were to tell Jack about a week ago that he would end up being the favourite person of a three year old Tommy, he would laugh in your face and ask you to stop joking.
If you were to tell him that he was going to end up staying with the one and only Philza Minecraft, he would have called you insane and kicked you out of his hotel.
But fate seemed to like messing with Jack, and had stuck him carrying a passed out toddler, whilst the Angel of Death and the Blood God packed a duffel bag for a child.
Sam had returned a few hours earlier, arms filled with supplies he managed to scrounge up from Niki and spare things that Tubbo kept for Michael. He informed the group that he did not tell the ram hybrid on accounts that the brunette had too much to worry about.
Technoblade reluctantly agreed, a side comment about not trusting the government before he began to organise the items at Sam's disposal.
This left Jack being handed the toddler as the eldest began to get things ready, only complaining slightly as he did not want to be an off hand babysitter.
Tommy's blonde curls tickled his nose, Jack holding him awkwardly as he still had little experience with children this young. Maybe if he put him down he would stay asleep?
"You need help there, Manifold?" A female voice broke his thoughts, turning to face Puffy as she smirked at him.
Screw her and her smug look.
"I'm doing fine, thanks. Got this under control, Manifold style." He responded, puffing his chest out to look stronger.
"Ah ha, alright. Well for starters, I'm surprised the kid isn't awake and screaming your ears off because you are holding him wrong."
"Well not everyone has the magic touch." Jack snarked back, blush creeping into his cheeks.
"Here, you dingus, hold him like this."
With the sheep hybrid's help, he managed to get the toddler into a more manageable position, cradling him softly as the blonde stirred, moving his face into the crook of Jack's neck before settling back down. The blanket the child was originally wrapped in was dropped over the small shivering body, calming down once covered.
"Thanks, this is much better." Jack grumbled out, knowing that he would not be able to take this child back to the snow biome without Puffy helping him.
"Don't mention it, just keep a good eye on him for me. If you guys need anything, I'm only a message away." She spoke, eyes soft as she patted his back gently.
Passing off a small smile, he watched her walk back into her house, Sam following behind her. He was glad none of them had caught on yet, as he knew he would be treated a lot differently for putting Tommy in this situation.
"You ready to go mate? Techno can carry Tommy now if you like." Phil's voice caught his attention, causing him to turn and look at the avian.
"That would be great thanks." Jack responded, letting Technoblade take the child from his arms.
He held his breath as Tommy whimpered slightly, not liking a change to his sleeping position, but settled down as Techno began to rub circles onto the child's back, red eyes soft and caring. They seemed to harden as they caught Jack's gaze.
"You tell anyone and I will kill you." The threat was not a bluff, having been on the end of the piglins crossbow before.
"Noted." He squeaked out, turning to help take a bag from Phil. "Are we sure we are going to need all this stuff though, surely it's going to wear off in a couple of days."
Phil looked at him from the corner of his eyes, blue gaze piercing into his soul.
"And why are you so sure it might? He could be stuck like this for months, Ender even years." Phil's voice sounded accusing, causing a shiver to shoot up Jack's spine.
"Well, usually with things like this, they end up clearing up within a few days. I remember when Big Q got stuck as a duckling for a few days after making a bet about a mysterious potion. Karl did not have a great time taking care of his ass, haha."
He hoped his rambling distracted the avian, looking at the man. Phil seemed to accept his answer, moving forward.
"Well let's hurry up and get Tommy back. He needs his rest, especially because of his cold."
---------------------------------------
Stone walls surrounded a small fragile blonde teenager, the air thick with the scent of gunpowder and iron. The place felt both familiar and distant, sending shivers through the teens body.
He had no idea how he had gotten here, or why everything felt off. Grime and dirt laced his hands as he dragged himself upwards, grunting in pain as a foot kicked him back.
"You bastard! You killed him!" A voice came from his mouth, unrecognisable.
"I was peer pressured Tommy! You would have done the same if all those eyes were on you!" His attacker spat back, the blonde feeling a punch in his gut.
Spitting up blood, he turned, facing two figures that stood on top of what seemed like the cliffs of a ravine.
"Enough Technoblade, I think he gets the point." A strained voice spoke up, laced with venom.
A hand gripped his shoulder, dragging him up from the ground. He yelped as pain shot up through his bones, still not understanding why he was so sore and why he was hurt.
"Next time Tommy, learn to stay in your place."
--------------------------------------
Tommy awoke with a gasp, tears spilling over his round cheeks. He had no idea what happened, just that he was in a scary place and he really wanted his Dad.
Looking around, he found himself placed on an unfamiliar bed. He had no idea where he was, especially since it wasn't like his really cool room back home.
His really cool race cars were gone. His pony toys were gone. Heck, even his favourite stuffed cow Henry was missing too.
Not liking this one bit, he scrambled out of the bed and plopped onto the floor. Racked sobs escaped his lips, blue eyes scanning his surroundings for his Dad or any of his older brothers.
It seemed like forever before a flurry of feathers greeted him, scooping him into a tight hold. Tommy gripped onto his Father's unfamiliar robes, hiccuping as the soothing rubs on his back began to soothe him.
"It's alright baby, your dad's here now. Everything is going to be alright." Phil began to soothe, a mix of chirps and crows seeking it's way into his words.
Tommy never knew what they meant, but he liked when his Dad would make pretty bird sounds. It reminded him of home, of watching his older brothers play fight on the living room rug, of his Father's gentle hums as he cooked dinner. He wanted that, he wanted to go home.
When he was soothed enough, he felt his Father stand up, gripping tighter. He felt Phil's chest rumble as he chuckled lightly, running a hand through his golden locks.
"Let's go see Techie, yeah? I'm sure he would love to take you to see Carl."
Tommy tilted his head, who exactly was Carl?
Once they entered the living room, Tommy caught sight of his older brother, the pink haired hybrid stirring a pot over the stove. The gentle armora wafted through the air, causing Tommy's stomach to grumble.
"Hungry." He whined pitifully, turning to gaze at his Father.
"Let me set you down and I'll go get you some okay?" Phil warned him, placing him on the soft rug.
Tommy noticed Jack from the corner of his eye, watching the man awkwardly sit on the sofa. He giggled, turning around to toddle towards the man, falling on his knees.
Jack looked towards him with wide eyes, fixing his funny glasses before picking him up.
"You probably think this is funny, don't you?" Jack sneered, Tommy only giggling in response.
They sat like that until Phil had called them to eat, Tommy being placed on Phil's lap as he was spoon fed some mushroom stew.
It was his favourite meal, so he was glad his Dad had made it for him.
As the day went on, Tommy spent most of his time playing pretend with Jack, encouraging the man to be a princess trapped in a tower. Jack played along, with a death glare from a certain piglin hybrid, until Tommy was yawning, rubbing his eyes as he tried to stay awake.
"I think it's time for bed, little bird." Phil spoke up, scooping up his boy and turning to the rest. "I'll sleep with him tonight, until we can get a more secure bed built."
Phil lugged him up the ladder, placing the boy on the bed before changing him into a soft onsite. Tommy placed his thumb in his mouth, quickly being replaced by a pacifier, before his eyes drifted shut.
The last thing he felt was Phil slide in next to him, wrapping an arm and a wing around him, before everything went dark.
