Chapter Text

Kim Rok Soo, a ghost trapped in the mansion, also trapped with other spirits who have gone crazy and mad throughout the years.. Is helping two humans escape the mansion. He hated how the spirits would kill people— even children, who dares to step foot in the mansion.

This mansion was said to be the place where most ghosts are placed because they still have desire to live and "Unfinished Business" Or whatever they call it. Of course, every spirit became mad and turned into crazy vengeful spirits because of isolation, paranoia, and spitting out their anger on humans who lived or visited here.

But Kim Rok Soo hadn't gone mad yet.

When he was human, he had tried to get a ball from a child who threw it too far and ended up into the mansion's gardens. Of course, Kim Rok Soo was naïve at the time and never believed in ghost even after the child had warned him.

After that, he was trapped in the mansion. He figured out that most spirits don't outright kill humans. Why? Because spirits here were all mad and liked to toy with the humans and made them thought that they can survive and crush their hope within a second.

Kim Rok Soo had only found seven keys. After eavesdropping and observing, there were in total of ten keys in order to gain access to the isolated room where the key to the exit is. He was definitely close but he died with poison. Even though it was slow and painful, he can't feel or even recall the pain now. Maybe because he wasn't human and can't feel anything anymore.

But one day, the door opened.

Kim Rok Soo held his breath as he felt like his stomach was twisting.

Another victim.

There were two people. From what he could recall, both of them were Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo. He watched them for awhile, wondering around the mansion. But Kim Rok Soo couldn't deal with how stupid they would be sometimes.

"God, no. Don't open that door.. It's literally glowing red. Why would you-"  Kim Rok Soo watched as the two opened the door to the first key. But the room was one of the hardest challenges that Kim Rok Soo gained scars from them. It was a room for offering a sword, but the sword was hidden somewhere in the maze inside the room.

There were a lot of traps and such that it could kill one of them.

Kim Rok Soo sighed heavily as his hand covered his mouth, "Goddammit."

And so, Kim Rok Soo stopped the traps by activating them early.

"Stop running! Just let me speak you punk!"  Kim Rok Soo chased the two who were running away from him as he revealed himself.

"Why would we stop and let you kill us?!" The man named Choi Jung Soo shouted.

"Because I helped you two! Do you have any idea how hard it is to activate the traps without getting caught?!"

After countless of hours of chasing and proving himself that he's helping them. They finally sat down at the chairs in the living room.

"Are the rumors true?" The man named Lee Soo Hyuk looked at Kim Rok Soo.

"Definitely. The final key is the 10th key, which can only be acquired with the 9th key."

"So we have to go through all the rooms and can't just... break the door down?" Lee Soo Hyuk seemed to be serious.

"Are you stupid?"

"But.. you'll help us right?" Choi Jung Soo asks him.

Kim Rok Soo didn't even know why he was helping them, maybe because he wanted the spirits to feel at lost.

Or maybe it was because he got tired of seeing people die over and over again.

"Of course."

Kim Rok Soo remembered his family.

Remembered the people who died here without mercy.

He wants...

He always had wondered what  his  unfinished business was.

Kim Rok Soo glared at the sword drawn near his neck. Objects that spirit died with, can only be felt and touched by spirits only. That's why, even if he was a spirit, blood had run down his neck as he sword drew near.

The most mad yet intelligent spirit looked at Kim Rok Soo with a glare that could make anyone fall down by their knees and tell the truths in faith of not being dead again.

There were two way to die as a ghost:

One, if a ghost have fulfilled their unfinished business by the help of humans, they will be taken away from world as a ghost and finally be set free like a bird flying away from its cage. But because of how rare people visit and how scared they were to contact them, spirits saw no point and stayed in this mansion as a vengeful spirit.

Two, die from another spirit. But dying from a spirit could lead to eternal suffering and such that you have no choice but to turn mad and kill everything wherever you go. A ghost could kill you with a sword, a pencil or any sharp objects.

But there was also a thing called "Seal"

It is when two spirits creates a deal with one another. The only rule was to not get caught by the other breaking what the other wishes. If one is caught breaking the other's wish, they will be "Sealed" where they will feel pain and torture every minute. Not being able to die.

Kim Rok Soo frowned. Spirits had already became suspicious of him, and the one he made a deal with, was the highest spirit among everyone else.

The spirit with long brown hair looked at him with his sharp red bloody eyes.

"Tell me... which side are you on?"

The spirit smiled even wider,

"Choose your words wisely, my doll."

Notes:

Y'know how most horror movies, characters sometimes make stupid decisions? Suddenly an Au popped in my head.

What about an AU where LSH and CJS r stuck in like a haunted mansion or something, but KRS is that one ghost that's friendly and doesn't want to hurt them so he tries to guide them.

KRS absolutely hates the people he's stuck with because all of them had gone mad and kept killing anyone who even goes near the mansion.

It can be angst and crack at the same time! Each rooms would be different, getting keys to another room, hoping to find the door to the exit. Of course, each of those rooms is a challenge, illusions, spikes, mazes that changes each second, etc. It's like the Sealed God test or somthng

But KRS, since he's the one who knows where most traps are, he tries to warn the two of them each time they go to separate rooms. But he also needs to act in front of the mad and crazy spirits that wants to kill them.

OKAY OKAY AFTER RE-READING THIS I FEEL LIKE I NEED TO CLARIFY THE "My doll" THING HAHAH
The long haired dude also wants to be set free peacefully, but humans, even if they're a group, they can only fulfill one spirit's wish. The man, seeing KRS as a threat (Because most of the times he's not there so he's worried that he already contacted with the humans), made a deal with KRS to not contact with the humans and KRS agreed to that (KRS found a loophole where the "Seal" can only act if they're only caught so-) The man, thinking that he's manipulating KRS by spouting nonsense and giving him false hope, he feels as if KRS is a doll in his hands in which he thinks he has the power to stop him from contacting with humans, and believes he can be finally set free.
Eventually the man caught up with KRS' plan to make LSH and CJS escape. SO THIS IS LIKE A VILLAIN CORNERING THE HERO IN WHICH EVEN IF HE CAUGHT KRS, THE MAN STILL FEEL AS IF HE'S IF HE'S STILL A STEP AHEAD SO HE TEASES HIM BECAUSE HE THINKS KRS IS A STOIC DOLL THAT ISN'T ABLE TO DO ANYTHING

Just for reassurance that there's still hope for KRS to not suffer, it can be the conflict where LSH and CJS manages to get the key but also finds out that KRS is "Sealed" because the man confronted them, and so they make a deal: The man will make a maze that moves and switches every few minutes and they need to get three keys, and find the door to save and unseal KRS but if they don't complete the maze by three days, they have no choice but to agree to finish the man's "Unfinished business"

(I feel like both the chapter and note looks like a mess and all, there might be typos here and there.. But you get what I'm talking about! This note might even be the longest note I've written!)
