Chapter Text
When Kuroo was assigned with to be THE Tsukishima Kei's physical therapist, he was surprised to say the least. He was a big volleyball fan so getting to meet the professional would be fun right? Wrong.
The minute he met the man he could tell he had his work cut out for him. Mr. Tsukishima seemed like he had a permanent scowl on his face. I mean, Kuroo completely understood being that Mr. Tsukishima can no longer play the sport that he's played for years and loves.
The first appointment was shit. Mr. Tsukishima practically refused to do anything at all.
One Day Ago
"This is meant to help you, you've got to at least try."
"Fuck off, I don't need your help." Kei states.
"Obviously you do. You may have played volleyball but your obviously need more arm strength to move around." Kuroo says with a bit of sass.
"Don't even mention volleyball. Don't talk about it at all. I don't need anymore reminders that I can't play." Kei says with a hint of anger and hurt in his voice.
"Sorry." Kuroo says softly.
Kei's confused though. Kuroo didn't push. Not like the people online, or his family, or the news, he actually dropped the subject.
"I think we're done for today. You're obviously not and the mood." Kuroo states.
"Yeah, whatever." Kei scoffs.
"See you next time Tsuki." Kuroo says with a wink.
"Don't call me that..." Kei mumbles.
"Whatever you say Tsuki."
As Kuroo walks away the only thing Kei can think of is, "So annoying.."
Two day Later
At his next PT appointment Kei actually starts to participate but, a certain someone is making that hard.
"So Tsuki-"
"I told you to stop calling me that." Kei says firmly.
"But it's such a cute nickname." Kuroo whines.
"I don't do 'cute'. Now can we just get this over with."
"Whatever you say... Tsuki."
"Oh my gods, please just shut up."
"So vulgar." Kuroo replies with a smirk.
"Tsk, whatever." Kei replies.
Tsukishima makes a move to grab onto the parallel bars in an attempt to pull himself upright. Kuroo grabs at his waist and stops him momentarily.
"Woah there Tsuki. We have to build up your strength still. You're going to need my help."
"I. Don't. Want. Help." Kei punctuates each word to try and keep his voice from cracking.
"If it's to much we can stop for today." Kuroo replies softly.
"No! I have to do this. I just-" Kei stops, his voice starting to waver.
"I think we're done for today. You need a break. We'll continue this in a few days." Kuroo says, while waving to the nurse to wheel Kei back to his room.
"I'll see you in a few days Tsuki try and relax." Kuroo says.
"Just shut up and stop calling me that. I don't want your fucking pity." Kei says as the nurse starts to wheel him out.
He misses the small frown that forms on Kuroo's face.
