The ordinary town of Morioh wasn't so ordinary for Stand Users.

Chapter 1: The Riddler / Lost One's Weeping

Chapter Text

~"Alessi failed?" A man leaned on his airplane seat as he spoke on the phone. He scowled.

"Yes sir. We only got this information now, otherwise it happened a year ago." His follower said on the other line. The man crossed his legs as his mouth opened showing his sharp white teeth.

Damn Giovanna. You think you're doing so good hiding the information that even my colleagues couldn't find out only until a year later. He thought. It was as if foam was coming out of his ears in anger.

"Sir, what do you want us to do now?" The other side of the phone broke his rant midway. The man's frown turned upside down. He put a hand through his sandy hair and it stuck to the back.

"Standby. I know exactly what to do to torture Giovanna into insanity. Meanwhile you're going to keep watch on Passione for me. We need that Requiem Arrow."

"Yes Sir." Beep! The phone clicked shut and Christopher Genovesi placed the phone in his pocket.

The only way to beat the invincible Don Giorno Brando is to torture his family first when they all die, I'll go for his elite Squad and after that, he'll be begging me to kill him!

My Stand, Lost One's Weeping is invincible after all! No one can beat it, not even Giorno Brando's Requiem Stand!

Nothing will be in my way to revive the Boss who is supposed to reign over Italia and the world!

"Big Bro! Big Bro!" Josuke turned over in his bed trying to pull his pillow on top of his head.

"Shizuka! I just got back from America two days ago! The jet lag isn't finished yet!" He complained. Even at twenty nine years old, Josuke lived with his Mother. It wasn't because he couldn't afford a new apartment he had plenty of money left from Joseph's inheritance fund and he had a whole account for his job. Josuke just wanted to help his Mom as much as he could for the time being.

(Besides, He was still single. But even if he got a girlfriend he would live in his own house. There's no better feeling than home after all.)

"Baka! You left your phone on the kitchen counter last night! You should be glad Mom noticed otherwise you could have missed a call from the Speedwagon Foundation!"  She called out with a tone of annoyance.

I liked you better when you were a baby, Shizuka. Josuke covered his pillow on his face.

Wait... WAIT!

"Speedwagon Foundation?!" Josuke jumped up in bed at the mention of the organization that helped the Joestars for more than a century. "Shizuka! Did Mom close the phone yet?!" Josuke hopped out of bed and put on some trousers.

"If I said yes, would you smack me?" She taunted. Josuke rolled his eyes.

"And I would cure you with Crazy Diamond after I beat the shit out of you. Did you close the phone?" By the time he said this, he was down the stairs. He saw Shizuka leaning on the ledge of the wall with her black hair tied in a ponytail and her arms were crossed. She smirked as she punched him playfully. Josuke looked around for the phone on the counters.

Where is it? It could be a call for a new case!

"Looking for this?~" Shizuka asked, holding the phone on her fingertips. Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond and jumped towards her. She jumped out of the way and turned invisible. She laughed.

"Don't worry! I muted it!" She turned her right arm back and handed gave the phone to her adoptive older brother. Josuke rolled his eyes.

When I get my hands on her... Josuke thought angrily.

He turned the phone back on and placed it on his ears. After apologizing profusely for taking so long on attending the phone the person on the other end said that there was a case for Josuke waiting for him and it was right in Morioh. Josuke held the phone on his ear and caught the bagel that jumped out of the toaster. He grabbed the cream cheese from the fridge and twirled a knife with his other hand.

"A murder? In Morioh? The last time there's been a murder here was when Kira was alive." Josuke stated.

We didn't need any more murders in Morioh after Kira. That bastard killed so many people.

"Hai."  The other line said. "Can you come over at twelve? Sato San will be waiting for you." Josuke applied the cream cheese onto his bagel and took a bite.

"Sure." He said in between chewing and swallowing. "I'll be right there." After closing the phone, Josuke took another bite from his bagel.

I wonder why someone would want to target Morioh?

"What?! A Stand User was murdered?!" Josuke gasped. The man in front of him, Naoto Sato nodded. His dark hair swished as he moved his head. Naoto was in charge of the Stand cases in the Speedwagon Foundation. He had a Stand that could reveal the culprit of the case with a single clue but the catch was he had to go to the crime scene in order for his Stand, The Riddler to work.

Josuke reeled through his mind on who could have been killed. Not anyone he knew otherwise he would have known.

...But didn't Josuke know all the Stand users in Morioh? There were a lot of Users after all.

Shit. Did this guy's ability erase the memory of the person's name?

"You didn't know this User. He wanted to lay low as his Stand Ability only changed the colors of objects. It's useless in battle. He just agreed with the Speedwagon Foundation that he wouldn't try to do anyone harm." Naoto explained before Josuke could say anything more.

"A murder is still a murder." Josuke reasoned. His eyes darkened. He imagined the man's family standing at his funeral not sure as to why their beloved Father, husband, son, or brother could have been killed.

"How do you know it was a Stand User then? Who is the person who killed him?" He asked. Naoto pulled out some paperwork from inside his drawer and gave it to Josuke. On the corner of the page, was a polaroid picture of a man with sandy blonde hair and sky blue eyes. Josuke read the information about him.

Name: Christopher Genovesi

Nationality: Italian

Stand User?: Yes

Stand Name: Lost One's Weeping

Upon contacting Giorno Brando we do not know what his ability is, only that he is not a part of the modern day Passione. Presumably he was shot with the Stand Arrow during Diavolo's era of reign.

Reason to murder: Unknown. Has no relation with the victim he has killed.

Living Area: Morioh Grand Hotel. He does not know that we have information about him.

Josuke flipped through the pages and cringed at the pictures of the crime scene. A pool of crimson was around the victim's head as his face was covered.

He didn't even decide to hide the evidence. This piece of shit was enjoying it! Josuke's hand turned into a fist.

"We think that he hit by the head with a metal bat from the behind although we don't have any idea how he entered the house because he had a digital security system protecting the house." Sato San explained what wasn't in the paperwork. Josuke narrowed his eyes.

"He could have hacked it. It's not that hard to hack into a security system, maybe that's a part of his Stand Ability." He deduced, putting a hand on his chin deep in thought.

Sato San pointed at him. "That's why we called you in. I apologize, I know you were supposed to be on vacation for three more days but it looks like this man is targeting Stand Users and unfortunately, Morioh has a lot of Stand Users." Josuke closed his eyes.

"Yeah. Even though they can all fight for themselves, it wouldn't be good for him to go and kill civilians as well." Josuke didn't mind cutting his vacation off. It was his job to protect everyone he could.

He didn't want anyone to die in front of him again. His Grandfather was enough.

Sato San smiled.

"That's the spirit." He clapped Josuke's shoulder. "Tomorrow you can ambush him at the hotel. Intel says that he stays around the hotel in the morning so you should be able to get him then." He looked through another set of paperwork. "Your Crazy Diamond should be able to take care of it." Josuke nodded.

"I'll make sure I won't fail you Sir." Sato San looked at him with his eyelids partially going down.

"Make sure you don't die." Josuke laughed.

"Sato san, I faced a serial killer when I was sixteen and I face dangerous Stand Users for a living. I think I can take care of one guy."

"That's the arrogance that can get you killed, Higashikata Josuke. I hope you do this successfully." Josuke looked down towards the paperwork again.

Sato san says that every time I have a case. I'll be fine!

★★★

"Room Service!" Josuke knocked on Room 132, AKA: Christopher's room.

Disguises always seemed to work. Especially with Josuke. When he asked Jotaro about that he said that Jose- Josuke's Dad disguised himself to get into the Nazi base in Mexico. Maybe the skill passed down by genetics?

(Jotaro didn't seem to mention that Joseph's disguise failed or the important fact that he disguised himself as a girl. He didn't really want Josuke to think badly of his Father -or at least more than what he did already-)

The door opened by itself. Jeez. This guy's into theatrics too? What a creep.

Josuke pushed the food cart inside the room. He didn't call out for Crazy Diamond yet but it was waiting for it's name to be called.

"Mr. Christopher?" Josuke called out into the empty room painted salmon pink. He stopped by a desk next to the ledge that led to the hallway towards the door.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Josuke stiffened as he felt a slimy on his leg. Josuke looked down to see a tentacle wrapping himself around his ankle but the moment his eyes met it, it rushed away under the bed. He knows that I'm here! Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond and punched the bed.

"DORA!" The bed broke and under revealed the culprit of the crime.

"Christopher Genovesi! You're under arrest for the murder of a Stand User!" Josuke called out, taking out handcuffs. Christopher smirked as he sat up. His right leg rested on his left arm.

"You know, Josuke Higashikata, killing that man was so boring." He said, putting the other hand on his cheek. He tilted his head to the side as if he was solving a long math problem and he wanted to give up. "He didn't even struggle! I only wanted your attention, y'know?" Josuke's eyebrows furrowed.

"I only wanted to see how well you fought! You're well known in the Stand World for being Don Giovanna's grand nephew, almost as powerful as him!" Giovanna? Isn't that Giorno's old last name? Did this guy have beef with him or something?

"Did you use that man to find me?" Josuke had to make one thing sure before he did something rash. Christopher smiled so wide it looked like his mouth would hurt.

"Oh.~ Did you only just figure that out? My, you shouldn't have been a detective with that train of thought!~" Josuke's fist started to shake. Sweat started to form at the top of his forehead.

Another man is dead... because of me.

"Y-you BASTARD!" Crazy Diamond came in front of Josuke, ready to punch the murderer.

Suddenly, on top of Christopher appeared a white octopus like creature. Slime was dripping from all eight of it's tentacles.

"Lost One's Weeping!" He called out. The octopus nodded back at him and it started to transform. Josuke kept one foot back in case he had to fight directly.

The tentacles turned into black arms and legs with navy blue plating.

"DORA!" It punched the floor and formed a wall in front of Josuke.

No way... was that- it couldn't be- Josuke could have sworn he saw something familiar right in front of him. It was almost like looking at a mirror. The wall broke again and Christopher stood in front of the Stand with a sinister smile.

Crazy Diamond went back towards Josuke, confused as well. The black and blue Stand had a dark aura.

"W-why is there another Crazy Diamond with you?! What happened to it?!"

Maybe Josuke was a little bit unprepared for this meeting.

Notes:

So, I kept on Araki's tradition of musical reference Stand names though they aren't the common ones lmao. (Also screw timelines I think the song that I put was released more than what Chris was born in. Whoops.) Try and guess which song I was trying to reference! =)

Yes. Naoto is a ref from Tokyo Revengers. It's so good!

I hope you all have a nice day! Constructive criticism and comments are all appreciated!
