The whole gym was on fire. All students and others guest where keep shooting at their favorite duelist while the duel seemed to come to an end.
"Now it's over! I attack with my monster !"
"Not yet! I activate my trap !"
"Well done! But you just poorly extended your lifetime. Next turn, it will be over for you, and your life points !"
"Yudai Fudo successfully saved his monster! But he is still in a bad posture! With only one monster on his field, no set card, or card in his hand, he truly has limited options! Not to mention he have only 400 LP left! "
The young boy sight to himself "Thanks, I really needed you to remember me that! But still, he's right... There's almost nothing I can do, unless... The card she gave me! But they're still so many cards in my deck, can I truly draw it now ?"

A familiar voice snaps Yudai out of his thoughts.
"That voice... Yuko ?"

"That's tomorrow already... " The teenage girl mumbles in the living room.
"Come on dear, you worry for nothing." Her mother kept trying to reassure her.
"But if the people are..."
"There will be maybe some bad people, but also a lot of good people. Just try to get along well with them and you'll be fine" His father explains to her. "Plus, you will always have your brother with you."
"That's not what he told me..." She said sending a glance at her brother who was quietly eating until he was mentioned in the conversation.
Aki shoots a cold glare at Yudai. "What? That's true !" He immediately defended himself "First and second years didn't saw each other a lot at school."
Yudai Fudo was a 16 years old boy, the first child of Yusei Fudo, and that can be seen in many of his traits: his hair color (he even got highlights, but they're white for unknown reasons.), his hairstyle looked pretty much like his father except all of his hair was down, probably due to his habit to wearing hoods sweatshirts, and what her mother like call his "calm aura", even if he still doesn't know what she meant by that, He has a bit over average height for a boy of his age, but he can be really clear that his body was that of a boy who gets a lot of physical activity. The only "visible" trait he got for her mother is his brown eyes, much for his mother's little disappointment, Yusei's eyes were more beautiful according to her. Luckily, her second child, Yuko, got these cobalt eyes.
Speaking of which, Yuko is quite a mirror of Yudai's appearance. With the exception of the eyes, almost all her traits are obviously coming from her mother. But with that, there are 3 things that easily draw attention to her: Her large pink hair with a large golden band of hair at the left side on it, her silver flower-shaped hairpin, and her strange scrap-made looking bracelet with a red ball-shaped object encrusted on it. She wasn't very tall, certainly not compared to his brother.
"Still Yudai, you must promise to do everything you can do for helping your sister to have a nice first high school day !" Aki insisted.
"*Sigh* Okay, but I'm sure she'll be great on her own anyways." Yudai conceded.
"By my own..." Yuko repeated...
"Yudai !" Aki scowled.
"What? I was saying that to cheer her up !"
Yuko took a look at what's seemed to be one of her most precious goods: her deck which was in her pocket, she took a look at the card on top of it and then smiles.
"You're wrong." She said
"Huh? What do you mean ?" His brother asked.
"As long I have them with me, I never truly alone, right ?" She said, looking now at her father.
"That may be true, but do not see them as a substitute of friends. You can share a powerful link with your cards, but shares strength bonds with people can give you things that none of your cards can give you." Her father calmly explained her.
"Something that even them can't give me... " She said thoughtfully.
"I'm sorry I can't come with you for your first-day dear..." Aki sadly said to is still obviously anxious daughter.
"It's okay Mom, Yudai will still be with me on the way, that's better than nothing."
"What do you mean 'better than nothing ?"
"Now then" Aki immediately interrupted, willing to avoid the upcoming fight "It starting to get late. Come on you too, you don't want to get late on your first day right ?"
"Okay, goodnight !" Yuko says before quickly leave the room.
"I should go to, but before that...Dad, are we still okay on the deal? " Yudai asked
"Of course: for now you will be able to go to school on your Duel board, as long as you don't cause any trouble with it. But you still have to accompany your sister to school during the first month." Yusei remembered.
"Alright, 'night !" He said before leaving as well.
Once they were the only ones in the room, Aki revealed her worries to Yusei.
"Yusei, are you sure they going to be alright? I mean with Yuto demeanor and Yuko's current stat-"
"Aki." Yusei lands a hand on her shoulder to calm her down "It's going to be alright. Getting back to school is the perfect occasion for Yuko to meet people who could help her with her state. As for Yudai, don't worry: all boys are like this at this age."
"Is that so..." Aki wasn't very convinced.

Yuko's room
"Something even your cards can't give you "
" What could be this thing ? " A very young voice asked.
"I don't know, but I guess I must see it to discover it..."Yuko responded.
" I'm just sad that I can't give you that thing... Does that means I'm not your rea- "
Yuko shushed her immediately.
"I already told you: you are my friend, my true friend. The others are too. But I still want to know what dad was meaning. So maybe I try to get along with some people there. But don't think of it as if I was leaving you behind.", She explained to her.
" Okay... Well, if you need any help there, I promise I will do anything I can, even if it's not much... "She said, a bit sadly.
"Believe me, have you with me is already a big help!" she reassures her before yawning.

Yudai's room
"School already restarted, but I still have no clues of where he is , and it seems that now that he goes underground, he never came back... So I’ll have no choice but to directly come to him. I know I risk a lot by doing so but..."
He then took a look at the card on top of his deck.
"A made a promise, and they did too many things for me to let them down! But now it's no use to think about it, I must focus on Yuko's first day. And for that, something tells me I must be prepared for a long day..." on this word he slowly fell asleep.

On the way to the school, Yuko's POV
I still feel stressed during the walk to school, all about it, I mean all I heard about it seemed so different from Mom's institute...
"Still felt uneasy about it ?" Yudai's asked, making me snap out of thought.
"You think ?" I sarcastically asked him.
"Come on, are you sure you aren't overreacting about it ?"
"Overreacting?! I coming to a place where I know nobody and where everyone knows me! And without mentioning the fact that whenever I duel, I-"
"Look forward while riding your board."
He interrupted me by grabbing me by the arm to made me avoid rushing on a pole. I almost fell off my board because of how quick he was. Seriously, Yudai's always did everything to help others, but he can be so straightforward sometimes...
"But to answer you, know that for your first point, he was the same for me too. All you need to do is wait for people to understand that you’re not a mini-form of our parents, which shouldn't take so long since they already witness it with me."
I can only agree with me on that part. It's was true: Yudai's got a lot of trouble due to his constant comparison to Dad. People were friendly with him in the hope of having a chance of meeting the 'Great Yusei Fudo' which pissed him off at the highest point. His duelist skill well also misjudged by that: I know more than anyone how much he worked for getting his current level, and all he gets in return were some <<Must be in the blood, nothing else.>> and << His father must give to him only rarest cards.>>. That frustration got him in several fights with people by the way. But after the Graduation Duel, he definitely made everyone witness his power.
"I hope you're right..." I only muttered.
"And for your second point, if you are serious about what you were saying, doesn’t that means that the 2 years you passed at Mom's institute were for nothing ?"
"That's-"
Actually, I was nothing to respond to that. So we keep going on the way to the school while I continue to share with my brother the last of my doubt. It was quite frustrating how much my brother has simple responses to almost all of my complaints, but I know he does that to reassure me.
And it worked, kinda. I started to believed that maybe this day and the other in the future wouldn't be so bad after all...
Until the immense building came in my sight.
How can he be so big ?! I mean I know that this was supposed to be one the most reputed Duel Schools, but still!
I once again almost felt from my board, if I haven't get my brother's help.
"You're okay ?" He simply asked me.
"So...big..." Was all I could say.
"What did you expect? If you get down for that, you're indeed on an off start "
I answered him with a light punch in his shoulder. Such kind of remarks was the last thing I needed, thanks!
"Anyways." getting off is board, so do I. "Let's get going.".
"Right now? I mean we're early, we could wait for a little bef-"
"YUDAAAAI !!!"
I heard a lot of female voices behind us.
"I said." repeated, taking both of our board and my wrist "Let's. Get. Going."
Having a little idea what's going on I quickly follow him even with his high pace of running, not without giggling a little, which doesn't seem to please him. Hehe, looks like I’m aren't the only one to carry his own problems...

Class 1-B
Well, I cut you the long, VERY long part that was the opening ceremony, especially because I almost forgot everything that happened during the speech, all the faces who were turned at me even before my name was called making my brain melt.
So, here I was in a classroom where I can still felt some disturbing glances and, even better, hear some gossiping I don't dare to listen to until the end.
One good point at least: my neighbor seemed not like that. Actually, she was pretty nice! Well, I said that, but the only thing she did was not looking at or speaking of me like we're doing the other and give me a " 'sup ? " when I looked at her. Well, it was still better than others.
"Well well well." The professor started, getting strangely all the class attention to her "Welcome my dear students. I'm Ms. Emma your main teacher and, you can declare yourselves lucky, your duel teacher. "
'Ooooh, so SHE gonna teach us duel ?! ' I heard a whisper in the back of the class.
'It's not a Duel Monster I wanna duel her, if ya know what I mean...' I heard a second one.
"He really said that ?!" My neighbor said, copying my mind.
I understand now why she draws everyone's attention. I didn't notice at first since I was in my thoughts, but now I can see that Ms.Emma is, Pardon my language, damn hot!
I mean look at her! She doesn't seem to reach her 30th's, But have some sleeves I could only dream of by pray for taking more trait of my mother that I already got! And when she turned back she got one of those-
YUKO FUDO!
WHAT THE ?! Oh...What the hell am I thinking ?! Come on Yuko! You're better than those boys who were keep drooling at you!
Ms.Emma, who obviously heard all comments about her body in the class but simply ignores them, continues her speech "Well, let's speaking of duel actually. I think every one of you Likes duels, either way, I don't know what you're doing here: this cool gets honestly 85% of its popularity by its dueling. Take duel out of it and all you got it's a pretty good school, but with a lot of others that did the same for cheaper."
Did teachers really have the right to bash their school like that?
"Well, all that for saying: you are all here because of Duels, and so do I! The true question is: why did you want this school's duel ?"
She then starts to slowly take a piercing look in any of us, as if trying to read our minds.
"Is it for the glory of became a professional ?"
She then reiterates the operation.
"Or just for having your favorite passion alongside you during your school days ?"
Then, for some reason locked her gaze on some guy in the room who certainly was more interested in her breast size than anything she has to teach him about duels. Despicable.
Hypocrite...
Silence!
"I'll be blunt: whatever is your answer, I don't want to hear from your sinful teenage mouths, certainly not when an even more accurate way to getting them exists: Duels !"
"UH ?!"
Almost all the class gasp.
"I like where this is going..." my neighbor says, with a grin on her face.
"I don't !" I stupidly answer her out loud.
"Is that so ?" She only asked.
"Well, first I will ask everyone already in possession of an entire usable deck to stood up. For the others, do not worry: As the program promises, cards and decks will be provided to you in the future. But until then..." She made a gesture to makes the concerned student stood up.
Some people, I would say almost half of the class started stood up, including my neighbor.
I was planning to stay sitting, but I felt a hand gently tapped on my shoulder.
"Come on, I don't know what's bother you about dueling, but I don't think defiles yourself will help it. Plus let's be honest: Nobody here would believe you know nothing about dueling."
I looked at my neighbor who still has is a little smile on her face. I cannot give her wrong on her saying, especially the last one so I awkwardly stood up too.
"It seems a lot of you have, well, 'prior experiences' I could say. Well great, for today, to learn to know each other, all this little group will give to the rest of their classes by a demonstration of their skills! Starting with..."
She then takes her laser pointer, making it dance across the class.

She stops on the same boy she laid a look on a minute ago's face. Seriously, does that dude truly have a deck?
"Tetsuo !" He said "Shingo Tetsuo !"
'Well then Tetsuo-Kun, your opponent will be, let's see..."
Wait for a second, what ?! He's gonna duel another student and not her ?! Well as long as it doesn't fell on-

"What's your name, young girl ?" She asked me, did she lick her lips or was I just seeing things?
My name? What a joke! As if anybody here didn't already know who I was!
"Yuko" I reluctantly answer "....Fudo Yuko"
"Yuko, so that's your name..." I heard my neighbor whisper.
Wait, she really didn't know who I was? She didn't seem to be lying... Maybe I'll like that girl more than I predicted..;
"Good. Yuko-chan, Tetsuo-Kun, you two will be our first duelists of the day! So let's go to duel room where your duels disks and decks are stored. But before that..."
She suddenly put again her laser pointer on and points to 4 students with it.
"All four of you will get extra homework at the end of the day !"
"What ?!"
"But why ?"
She then walked to the desk of the student who asked her that before slowly (and in a bit suggesting way) leaning on her desk while putting her face very, very close to him.
"Why? Well listen young boy: I have been hired here to apply my vision of a good duelist on you little children’s. And one of the traits on my vision is: not a damn coward like you !"
"H-Huh ?!" The boy asked with his face as red as my hair.
"What kind of teacher would I be if I didn't make a few searches about you? I already knew which of you already have a deck! I just wanted to know which of you were able to do something as simple that assume yourself as a duelist !" She suddenly scowls at him.

"That was a close one isn't it Miss Fudo? You can thank your friend for the save !" She snapped me out of my thoughts.
Wait, you mean she saws what happens? That teacher sure is more than her looks! All I can do is shamefully avoid her gaze.
"Now that's settled, Everyone follows me~" She chirped, before going out of the room.
Everyone started leaving the room, but I stay still for a moment. Everything was going well too fast for me! Not only I almost got a punishment from that super ho-Not Now !- From my teacher, then now I must duel some guy I don't even know at the start of the day ?! Can things can get even worst ?!
"Hey."
"Huh ?!" I almost felt by the surprise. Since she was still there
"You're often in your thought aren't ya ?"
"Is it that obvious ?"
"Well, it's as obvious as it will be obvious that I was lying if I told it wasn't."
"...What ?"
"It is."
"Oh, o-okay. Well, I think I’ll thank you for the save !"
"All pleasure's mine! Ren, by the way !" she says, extending her arm.
I awkwardly took her hand "W-Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ren !"
"Same goes for me! I wouldn't mind continue de speak but it seems we're gonna lose the rest of the class so..."
She quickly took my arm before running out of the class with me.

"Whaaaaaat ?!"
She was running so fast to made us catch up with the rest of the class that I felt like I will lose my arm for good.
But at least no one remarked our absence thank her.

Duel room, locker's room
I have been redirected by Ms. Emma to my locker to take my own duel disk (and also my deck, even if I secretly always keep it with me.).
When I took my duel disk, I can't help but feel nostalgic. I receive it when I was 12, the same age Yudai receives it. I made the flower patterns with Mom, giving it a very original side. Yudai was so jealous when he saw it, he immediately after made his own modification on his disk, but it didn't go as well...
Ah, good old times...
"Are you sure you're gonna be alright Tetsuo ?" I heard a voice nearby
I was curious, so I took a look only for seeing three boys, including that Tetsuo guy.
"Yeah doesn't worry about it guys, with my deck is gonna be a breeze to beat that girl !"

I almost shriek in fear, then I quickly put my hand on my mouth, hoping they didn't hear me.
"Ren ?! what are you doing here ?"
"Looking for my lost pancake of course !"

"Looking for my D-disk, why else would I have been there, yours pretty cool by the way !"
I can't help but blush a bit at her compliment. It's strange, thank her, my anger from last time leaves me in a rush...

Then I felt her finger poking to my face.
"You're fazing off again..." She told me, making a false pouting face at me.
"Oh, sorry...We should get going by now !"
"Yes, by the way, can I ask you somethin' ?"
"Uh, yes ?"

"Um, I planned to see my brother, but you can come with me if you want !"
She then tapped gently on my shoulder.
"Sweet! You better be ready Yuko! 'Cause you'll see soon enough that I’m not the kind you can get rid of easily "

Good, the teacher still explaining the rules to the last of those rules, so we aren't too late!
"Geez..." Ren whispered at me" If she really going to explain all of the rules, we could continue to prepare ourselves for one more hour !"

At her word, we both walk to the opposite side of the field. I could see send me an evil smirk.
"She's the "Black Rose Witch’s daughter..."
Those words kept resonating in my head.
Yuko, I know how much their words hurt you but please, don't let them anger you. Otherwise, you could...
Yes, I know. But it's still a pain for me... But you know what? This duel is probably exactly what I needed. If I beat him, I will not only pull off all those stupid ideas that the idiot got out of his brain, but it will also be the best vengeance for what he said!

Once I got on my side of the field, I took a huge breath, and clear my mind as I always do to only think about two things: the duel and those guys' words.
All things which happened today were nothing but distractions during my duel.
"All right you two !" announced the teacher. "During this duel, you will do a classic Master Duel at 4000 LP each, and any tries of illegal moves will result in a punishment even more severe than the previous one," she said with a smirk on her face.
"Well, let's get over with this !" I exclaimed myself
"Don't underestimate me, I won't get easy on you because you're a girl !"
Good for you, it will make what await you less humiliating...

TURN 1
"Ladies first, I start! Draw !" I take a look at my hand, "okay guys, I'm counting on you !"
"First I summon Aromage Jasmine in attack position! (ATK 100/LV2) "
At my words, My little white-haired friend came out.
"You're not too scared ?" I asked her.
"Maybe a bit, but I'll be alright. As I told you, I'll do everything in my power to help you so don't hesitate !" She responded with determination.
"You're starting which such a weak card, are you making fun of me ?!" My opponent mocked me.
I clenched my teeth once more. After Mom, my cards now ?!
I felt a light familiar pain in my head.
"Then I activate a spell, Blue Medicine , making me won 400 Life Points (LP :4000->4400) !"
"And now a totally common card ?! Seriously ?!"
Okay, I get it, until the end, I will make abstraction on anything that guy has to say!
"Since I gain Life Points, Jasmine effect activates! I can draw one card from my deck! But I’m not done yet! Since my LP are superiors to yours, I can summon one more Plant-type monster! Come Aromage Rosemary (ATK : 1800/LV4) ! Then I call a third friend of mine to join us! I activate Aromage Laurel from my hand! Since my LP are higher than yours, to yours I can special summon him from my hand (DEF : 0/LV1) !"
Quickly my blue-oriented Rosemary, and my blond green-clothed Laurel join me.
"Wow, incredible! She already summoned 3 monsters in one turn !" I heard some girl saying.
"But still, the best of them only got 1800 Atk, and you also got an attack mode monster with 100 ATK, it's nothing incredible if you asked me !" Tetsuo says
"You may be right, but my turn isn't over yet! My monster is all set, but I don't think that gym truly adapted to them, that's why I activate the field spell: Aroma Garden !"
At my word all the scenery of the place started to change. The whole gym started to change into a beautiful garden, a place more pleasant to me than anything of this school.
"Well I admit it's quite cute, but what do that changes exactly"
"Oh, you like it? That's probably the best thing I've ever heard from your mouth !"

" Aroma Garden's effect activates! Since I control an "aroma" monster ! i can raise my life points and all my monsters Atk & Def by 500 points (LP : 4400 -> 4900) (Jasmine ATK: 100->600) (Rosemary ATK : 1800-2300) (Laurel DEF : 0->500) until my next turn! Then Rosemary's effect activates! When I get LP, I can change the battle position of one monster on the field! I change Jasmine to the defense position (DEF : 2400) ! I send two cards facedown and end my turn !"

TURN 2
"Perfect! Now then I show you what's true power is! My turn, I draw !"
Show me all you haven't, idiot.
"First, I summon the Masked Knight LV 3 (ATK : 1500) ! And then I activate its effect! You take 400 points of damage !"
When his little knight appears I instinctively raise my other arm which wasn't holding my disk. But when I took the damage (LP:4900->4400) , I felt, almost nothing...
It was normal after all, a true duel can't hurt...
"If you are only scared for that, you're not ready for what awaits you! I activate a spell! Level up! As its Names tells, it allows me to raise my Masked Knight to LV 5 (ATK : 2300) ! And with its effect, it's 1000 other points of damage for you!
Once again I took the damage from the now taller knight (LP:4400->3400) . It was more consequent than the last time, but even the wind of the blow wasn't affecting my body this much...
"It seems a bit...fade..." I said unwillingly out loud.
"What? It's not your taste? Then let's see how you will think when I use another Level up! for strengthen him again !"
"Another one ?"
"Yes! Now my Masked knight goes to LV7(ATK :2900/LV : 7) !"
"T-Two thousand nine hundred attack points ?!" I heard some classmates saying.
" What Fudo did was impressive, but Tetsuo managed to destroy her LP advance without attacking and bring out a monster stronger than all monsters she controls!" A glass-wearing girl added.
The whole class who seemed to be cheered for me started now to have all their eyes on this guy.
Not that I care anyways.
"And you guys aren't finished to be surprised yet! My now LV7 Masked knight activates its effect! That's 1500 other points of damage to you !"
And more damage (LP:3400->1900) ... I'm pretty sure it tickled this time.
"Even if you've raised yours LP, they already shivering! And it's not gonna be better when I will give My knight those two equip spells: Assault Armor & Big Bang Shot !"
A shining aura started glowing around this card while the armor on its right leg changed to a more cybernetic one.
"And I activate my Assault Armor 's effect! I send it to my graveyard to allow my knight to attack twice this turn! And with my Big Bang Shot , my monster won 400 attack points (ATK: 2800->3300) and now deal piercing damage !" He declares proudly.
"I see...Even with one attack, his knight has enough ATK to won the duel by attacking me, but with two attacks he can go for the win even if we negate this first attack...." My Laurel calmly analyzed the situation
Well, he's right, he maybe isn't as bad as I thought...
However...
"And now it's time to bring this duel to an end! Battle! Now my Masked Night , attack Aroma Laurel !"
As he said, his knight jumped surprisingly high in the air before trying to kick my monster.
"If it attacks with piercing damage..."
"She's gonna lose ?! A Fudo going to lose ?!"
The whole crowd started to excited itself... Only because of my name, the idea of me losing became that much of a deal?
I'm starting to understand him now...
But at the instant of the shock, a transparent barrier suddenly stopped its attack.
"What ?! How?"
"I can believe you're ego blind you enough to make you forget about my facedown... I activated my trap: Draining Shield to cancel your monster attack !" I explained him
"Dammit, but I sti-"
"But that's not all! Draining Shield also allows me to recover LP equal to the attacking monster's ATK! (LP:1900->5200) "
"No way !" He said in disbelief
"Not only she countered his attack, but she ends up with more LP she even started with !"
"That girl incredible..."
"Well, she's a Fudo. There's no way she got beat like that !"
*sigh*
"And in case you forget, winning LP activate my Aromages Jasmine & Rosemary 's effects! I draw one card and change the battle position of one monster on the field, and I chose your dear Masked Knight !"
At my word, the big knight gets back at his initial position and puts himself on his knees (DEF : 1800) .

I beat this guy and make him pay for his hard words on me, my cards, and my mother.
But that duel, it was like, something was missing...
The whole class started to applause then Ms.Emma raised in her seat.

All sight came back on my hand almost all the class raised her hands.

Well, that girl sure is something...
But is good, she seemed quite attentive to my duel, so I'm pretty sure she must have good knowledge of it. But that isn't enough to make you a great duelist.
