The only thing Hinata saw at this moment was red.
Everything that happened in the span of 4 weeks, came down crashing on her. It's like a vase filled with water to the brim, one drop can be the reason for it to overflow.
She doesn't need Sasuke to rub everything in her face. His fake attitude is sickening her and she did her best to suppress it, but it's hard. Especially when said person is speaking on things that he doesn't know nothing about.
He shouldn't have spoke about it so freely. Mainly the way he worded everything, were the last straw for her. She didn't want to be violent, but he left her no other choice.She activated her Byakugan, hoping to hit him somewhere.
It doesn't matter if she hit a vital spot or not, just the satisfying sensation of hitting him, would suffice. The Byakugan granting her a better sight, coming handy at night.
But it's to no use, because the tears in her eyes are making her sight blurry. It's working to her disadvantage, clearly being the reason for no spots getting hit.She stops for a second, baffling him.
She wants him to apologize, to make him regret the things he said. If she wants him to apologize and regret, she has to hurt him. She wipes her tears away, trying to fight him again.
It would be a fight but he's too high and mighty for himself to go against her. How can you talk all this nonsense about someone and then decide, that you don't want to fight against them?
She hears him grunt and her heart leaps away. She hit him successfully! Neji would be proud. He would be more than proud for defending not only his name, but herself too.
Hinata tries to be faster, hitting him where she can. She doesn't even notice how her pace falters. The only thing that matters now, is to show this horrible man before her, that he can't act how he wants to.
He cannot talk the way he wants to, not with her.Sasuke is sick of her, and her childish actions. They got over a war and she's still crying over someone's death.
He should know that comforting someone like her, wouldn't end well. That's just how Hyuuga's are, everyone is undeserving of their time.Did she forget that the same person she's crying over was the one who wanted to kill her?
Sasuke may be an asshole, but he was observant enough to know, that her cousin tried to kill her during the chunin exams.And now she's crying and trying to fight him, over some trivial reason? She's literally jumping onto her own death. Trying to fight someone like Sasuke is a suicide attempt. Especially for a weak pathetic girl like her.
To be honest, he wants to blow out the fire inside her. She's getting full of herself, trying even harder after her first hit. She hit him because he let her, otherwise she would be lying in a pool of her own blood.
”Stop it. I won't lay my hands on you. You're not worth going to jail for." Sasuke said clearly, like he was speaking to some child.
Him speaking, only fueled her anger even more. Particularly what he said. That man really is a joke. She shouldn't even lose her energy on someone like him, but she has to teach him a lesson.
He can speak like that with his teammates, they should be used to it by now.He can speak like that with people who are obsessed with him, who would do anything to be involved with him.
But not with her.
She's hearing him groan and Hinata feels so joyful. They can play this sick game of his, all night. He should begin to defend himself, if he doesn't want to end in the hospital. Hopefully Neji looks down on her.
Maybe behaving like Neji will make her less sad. It already feels like he's within her, fighting beside her against him.
Sasuke has had enough. He warned her and she really tried to test his patience. Don't worry, he will go soft on her, only that would ashame her. How embarrassing would it be for her, when she gave everything into the fight and he just ended her with a low blow.
Alone that feeling would be enough for her. He doesn't need to embarrass her through words, like Naruto did today. He will do it with actions.
Actions that were caused by her.
He grabs her firmly by the arm, pulling her towards him. He knows that she's startled, because the movements of her stopped altogether. He should teach her a lesson for being weak and fragile.. for trying to attack him, and failing horribly in the process.
He pushes her harshly onto the ground, trying to hurt her in the process. Sasuke wants to beat her so bad, not only for attacking him, but for being weak. He really could if he want to.. so he does.
He cowers over her, circling her neck with his strong slender fingers. It's enough pressure to clog her airways, but not to seriously injure her. Sasuke could push the living fear out of her, or he could scare her enough, to leave her Kunoichi life.
Would it be worth it? Totally. Does he want Naruto to bother him, for scaring this girl? No.
He activates his Sharingan, and one harsh look is enough to make her faint.
He grabs her hand and tries to lift her up. Sasuke might be a bad person, but if his mother taught him something, then it's ensuring the safety of all woman. Not intervening while seeing a woman in distress, is like looking away.
The first thing Sasuke notices when lifting her up, is how light she weighs. She looks way bigger than she weighs..
So now Sasuke found himself in a dilemma, where he has to question himself if she still lives in the Hyuuga compound. After all they were neighbors during his childhood.
What if she moved out? Does he want to be annoyed by her clansmen?So he did the only right thing.
Making his way to the Hyuuga compound, with her over his shoulder, like a potato sack. He will throw her over their wall and be gone in a minute without getting seen.Even by doing nothing, that girl is still a burden. How can someone even accomplish that?
Not even halfway through the cemetery and Sasuke spots a familiar face. He has no need or want to speak to that person.. though it seems unfeasible. Today is really not his day. From the beginning till now. It's definitely the fault of this cursed village. Everything bad happened to him during his stays here.
”Who would have thought that I would meet one of my lovely students here in a cemetery, especially at this time of the day?" Kakashi asked, while smirking under his mask, making the wrinkles around his eye crinkly.
Sasuke saw the curiosity in Kakashi's eyes, trying to decipher who that knocked out girl on his shoulder is.
Sasuke shouldn't have thought that it would be a good idea to walk around the village, with a girl on his shoulder.Sasuke.. a former criminal..
He decided that the best thing he could do in a situation like this, is to ignore him and just forget that he was even there.
So Sasuke just walks by, not replying anything, but he came to an halt as he heard the loud clearing of Kakashi's throat.
”So you're abducting the Hyuuga princess now? I don't know if we can keep defending you, if you are on the bad side of the Hyuuga's. You know that there are plenty of girls who wouldn't hesitate to be humped and dumped by you?"
Great. Now Kakashi probably wants an explanation, before he'll be declared as a creep. Did he really have to carry her home and be all stressed? He should have left her alone in the cold..
Why doesn't Kakashi do it?
"You can bring this burden home. Didn't want her to freeze to death, like the pathetic case she is." Sasuke said, throwing her onto the ground - right in front of Kakashi.
Kakashi bend down to check her pulse.. just to be sure that he didn't kill her.
"Dang, did you have to throw her so hard? What did she do to you?" He said, gaining a harsh glare from Sasuke.
Would Kakashi even believe him?Believe him that he got attacked, while trying to comfort her? Like what the fuck? He got attacked and hated for a lot of stuff, but never for being good-hearted.Um.. for trying to be good hearted.
That's what matters right? To try, even if you don't succeed.
Sasuke snorted. "She attacked me, didn't know that she was mentally ill." He retorted.
Kakashi was surprised. Sasuke is not someone, who he would see as a liar. Sasuke may be a bad person, but that's not really of importance in this case. He wouldn't attack someone after getting pardoned, knowing full well that he would get thrown into jail, or would he?
The council wouldn't even let Sasuke explain anything, instead they would be happy to throw him away.
Why would Hinata.. sweet, innocent, shy Hinata, attack Sasuke? There needs to be more then what the eye sees, because Kakashi could not make out why Hinata would attack someone, without having any reason for it? Did she got provoked? Did he pick on her, till she lost it?
“What did you do? Hinata wouldn't attack you, without having any reason for it. You probably did something to set her off." Kakashi said, while throwing Sasuke a suspicious look.
You see? That's what Sasuke means. It wouldn't make any difference to explain himself, nobody would even believe him.
He should really just left her there to herself and wait till he hears about her death. She will have to explain Kakashi what really happened, if she wants to or not.. that's not for her to decide. Sasuke will force her if he has to.
Sasuke took a deep breath through his nose.
"You can wait here till she wakes up and ask her why she attacked me. I'm not a fool like Naruto, am I?" Sasuke spoke with anger laced in his voice.
That was the last time that he tries to help someone out. No matter what he does, everyone is wary of him. Even his own Sensei. If someone on the other side of the world gets killed, Sasuke would be the first suspect. Maybe he should be on his way to atone his sins, like he planned to. If he's lucky the villagers will forget the things he did in a few years.
Kakashi is speechless. He can't counter back and he can't wait till she wakes up, either way he has to calm Sasuke down. It would cost too much time that he, as the Hokage, has not. He has duties and meetings to attend, not to speak of all the paperwork he has to fill and approve.
He really can't wait till Naruto takes over.
Kakashi has to calm Sasuke down, maybe they could work it out together.. he's relying on him.
"Look, I'm the Hokage. I can't afford to loose my valuable time. How about you bring her home and I call the two of you in tomorrow? We can clarify this misunderstanding in my office." Kakashi explained, trying to be reasonable.
Sasuke snorted. Yeah right. Why should he do Kakashi a favor, when not even 5 minutes ago he was suspected to attack some weak girl?
Call him petty, but he has learned his lesson. Don't help people out, no matter how helpless they are. In the end you'll only get bitten in the ass.
”No, you help her. You were suspecting me, thinking that I would attack her? Like she's deserving of my time or my energy. To be honest, you even did me a favor by stoping me. I had no desire to transport her home." Sasuke retorted, not even waiting for an answer.
Sasuke began to walk away. He will not wait for an answer. He will not wait to discuss matters with Kakashi. This is not up for discussion, Sasuke did enough today.
"Ehhh! Stop! That's a order from your Hokage, boy!" Kakashi shouted, running behind Sasuke.
He's trying to catch him, but it's difficult with Hinata's added weight. Another reason could be Sasuke's speed..
Kakashi is just not the youngest anymore.Kakashi couldn't leave her there to discuss things with Sasuke, could he? Maybe he should left her there, she's not helping him being faster.. that's really a disadvantage for him.
Sasuke stopped abruptly."Stop following me".
Kakashi looked behind him, but there wasn't anyone.
Sasuke didn't speak to him, did he?? Boy the rank as Hokage doesn't bring Kakashi shit. He still gets treated the same.
Little faint footsteps brings Kakashi's attention back. There's someone following them and they're doing a really bad job at that. Kakashi turns around again and doesn't see anything. He would sense a Ninja. There couldn't be a Ninja that strong and good in masking their chakra. Especially not after a war, where most of the Ninjas and Kunoichis are coping with the losses and gaining their energy back.
Sasuke walks towards Kakashi and picks something up.Without even glancing back, Sasuke made his way towards his home.
Kakashi was puzzled, and angry too.Why didn't Sasuke help him??!!With Hinata on his shoulder, Kakashi also makes his way towards the Uchiha compound.
Maybe he couldn't catch up, but surely he'll get there and then Sasuke will have a lot to explain! Especially after leaving him there.
Knock Knock
Sasuke ignores the pounding on his door.. since approximately 3 minutes.
He won't let Kakashi in.Now with a black little cat in his hand that he's washing in the sink.Sasuke is a cat man.. don't judge him!He grew up with cats and he got taught how to keep them so why not?
”So that's why you didn't open the door?"
Kakashi was sitting there in his living room, with the Hyuuga laying on his carpet. Since when are they here and how did they even get in?
"Get out Kakashi", Sasuke spoke annoyed, "I don't have any time for neither of you."
Kakashi got up, walking towards him, while Sasuke desperately tried to hide the little kitten in his hands.
To no avail.
”Who's that little guy there", Kakashi asked with humor laced in his words, "Don't tell me you found him in the graveyard?".
Sasuke is silent for a moment before he clicks his tongue."Tch, get that girl out."
Sasuke just wanted to change the topic.. to be honest it did hurt his manly pride. It's not his fault that he's a cat-lover.
”Huh?”
Sasuke walks away with the wet kitten in his arms. Everything to be away from those two psychos.
Kakashi is puzzled.. he thought that Sasuke got over the attack thing, and they could resolve everything. Of course with Kakashi aka the Hokage present.
So Kakashi does the only right thing.
Dragging Hinata towards Sasuke's bedroom. He's laying her on the bed and before he has the chance to leave the room he hears Sasuke speaking.
"No," came Sasuke's chilled voice across the house.
"Listen to me boy! She'll stay here till we clarify everything," Kakashi paused, "I'm the Hokage, by the way! Don't want no Hyuuga's bugging me because of you." Kakashi told him sternly.
Sasuke let out a laugh. A full on hearty laugh.. that Sasuke just let out? The same Sasuke who got rogue.. are Kakashi's ears deceiving him?
"Fine, be my guest then." Sasuke said with a tiny smirk gracing his face.
Kakashi is sure that this would be a long night.. hopefully the Hyuuga princess would wake up anytime soon.
Naruto pushed his door open, while holding some left over ramen that he decided to keep for later.
He missed his own room, not just because he was in the hospital so long, but because the house he had with Hinata and his children were not comparable to his childhood home.
The room he's standing inside now, is the room where he grew up. Where he cried when Jiraiya died, laughed as he played games with his friends or ate some limited edition ramen.
But compared to his home with Hinata it's just nothing. Kissing Himawari every night and fussing over Boruto because that boy really can't tuck himself in.
Coming home to his wife who always cooked something for him, even waited for him to come home and often slept in the living room meanwhile.
Naruto wishes that he could have done something at the time but now he has to live through everything again.
Maybe that's the reason he got back in time. To erase the mistakes he did and do everything right.
Plus he wanted to prevent that Sasuke and Sakura got together. Both of them would be grateful and not so miserable as they were with Sarada.
Naruto lays the food down and walks back to his wardrobe. Deciding to wear some light clothes where he can sleep in, as he searches for them.
His wardrobe was always messy before Hinata came into his life.
Throwing on some gray joggers and a basic orange tank top, he walks back to the living room to watch some tv before he sleeps.
A light knock takes his attention.
Who could it be? Especially at this time of the day. Surely that has to be a mistake and Naruto really doesn't want to open the door, he's too exhausted.The knock intensifies.
"Okaaayyy, I'm coming."
To say that Naruto was shocked after opening the door, would be an understatement.Why is Sakura knocking on his door?
“Um, hello Naruto," Sakura avoided his eyes, "I just wanted to make sure that you made it home safely."
Naruto smiled.
Yeah that's how Sakura is. She didn't do it last time, because she had much going on immediately after the war. This time though, he was in coma for some weeks.
No matter what, he's happy that there's someone thinking about him, making sure that he's safe and doing good.Especially when said person is his longtime comrade and former crush for years.
“Hey Sakura, I'm doing good especially after eating some ramen ya' know!" He laughed, "I have some leftovers, come in!"
Sakura blushed. Taking of her shoes, she's walking in. She just wanted to speak to him and maybe spend some time with him. Just to know if he's doing good and how his new arm is doing."
Wait, I'll bring you some chopsticks and warm the Ramen up, just sit down on the sofa!"
Sakura was seated on the middle of the sofa and waited.
Today was an really exhausting day. Every day was exhausting, especially when you're a medic like Sakura, but that's just something she's willing to do.
To be able to help someone, heal them and be able to make ill people healthy.Naruto came in with the warmed up Ramen and offered her some Milk with it.
Hopefully not spoiled..
As Sakura began eating, they were talking about everything.
Sakura told him what happened during and after the war. What happened with the rookies, to the other country's and how everything progressed till now.
Naruto had a few questions since he was in coma for a few weeks. He wanted to know what happened with Hinata. How the funerals were and how Sasuke behaved.Sakura told him that Sasuke is better now, he's a little drained because of the war and his new arm, but otherwise he's like always.
She told him that she's the one cooking for him most of the time. Not in Sasuke's kitchen, but she's preparing it at her home and brings it him later. He may not be thanking her, but Sakura told him that she knows and feels how thankful Sasuke really is for her.
They talk so much that they didn't even notice how fast the time is passing. And before either of them can get any sleep, the sun is peeking out.
