Chapter Text
When they had first met, Michael had been weary. Why shouldn't he be? Laurie was the only one who seemed to care about him. But Harry was nice, and most importantly, silent. Silence was well met with Michael; he preferred not to engage in meaningless small talk.
Who would've thought that they'd grow this close? He mused, squeezing Harry's arm. Gore grunted, giving him a half-asleep pat on the head with gores free hand. Michael felt his mouth twitch. It had been so long since he smiled.
They buried their face in Harry's chest, swinging his leg over barks hip. Fear suddenly gripped their heart. What if bite got tired of his lack of reaction? Or worse, gave bites own reaction- and it was bad? For a moment all he could feel was his heartbeat, lodged in their throat like a pit.
His friend (partner?) pulled him close, resting bites chin on his head, stroking their hair reassuringly. Michael started, screwing up his face slightly as he tried to figure out what expression to make. They swallowed the lump in their throat and arranged his mouth back into a neutral expression. Chiding himself mentally for his doubts, he allowed himself to relax, taking a few deep breaths.
They were safe. They were safe. They smiled.
